Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

PokeGym Mutant Madness Draft

I did this draft, and it wasn't good. I first had to wait for 20 minutes before I could start. Then at the table, people were cussing so much. My little brother must have heard the "f" word 20 times.

And did you bring this up to anyone staffing?
We'd have had a discussion with those players.

20 minute wait? We processed 240 players.
That's larger than most Regionals and Nationals, you know.
For a free tournament (you "paid" six packs, but got six back for drafting).
With prizes.
I'm sorry, but a 20 minute wait sounds OK to me.

Considering in years past the wait was usually an hour or more, 20 minutes seems very reasonable.

But, I guess this is a case of not being able to please everyone.

Have you been involved in a past Mutant Draft?

No. This was my first.

Yes.

The person told them to "try to to cus". They kept it up.

I enjoyed the Mutant Draft. First time getting to play in it, and using the 16 player pods was a great idea. The only problem I saw in my pod was the person running it kept changing out. Must of had three different people in charge, which kind of got confusing (mostly for reporting finished games and getting the new pairings). Otherwise, it was a fun time and I hope to get another chance to play in one again.

Thanks to all those that put in the time to organize such a fun evening.

I enjoyed the draft, but I think my pod rushed all of its player waaaay too much. While most of us could recognize the EX era cards and immediately know whether to put them in or decks or not, there was a father and son at my pod who had only been playing for a short time and didn't even know what EXs were. We simply did not give them enough time to read over each card and definitely made their experience less fun.

I think a sheet explaining some key terms would be a great idea (EX, Dual Type, Poke - Power once Abilities are the norm, Pokemon Tool [this format has no tools so some people were confused], etc.) Or suggest heavily that players have at least some experience with past cards.
