Ok so where I'm getting at is I buy all these cards for just in 3-4 yrs them be unusible

I'd rather them have a ban list cause rotating full sets makes us well me feel like it's a waste of money

You want a Ban list? You go play Yu-Gi-Oh!

We do have a Ban list and it's called the "Illegal" cards...

Money wasted can be money gained by selling the cards on eBay or here for the same amount you payed for them.

If you want to play competitively, that's the price to play. Getting enough cards for a deck or two isn't too costly actually, and as sets go you can get a couple cards here and there to switch out. When you're pushing 15 decks like I am (OCD anyone? lol) then yes it is costly....but I love the game, love building decks, and love what Pokemon does for me, so it is worth it. It is like every other hobby--put money in to enjoy a craft.

Actually, Pokemon is a VERY cheap game...

Think about how much money it costs you to play and how much time you spend playing versus eating at a restaurant or going to the movies...

You can play Pokemon for hours upon hours, win cards, sell back your cards, trade for new cards, etc. or spend an hour or two for 25$.

Magic is so much more costly. Yugioh the price you pay is mental health.

If you can't eat the cost, become a private vendor and sell of excess cards at tournaments (with proper permissions of course) to interested customers by maintaining a polite and respectable front to recuperate some.

Also, win more. Get your younger siblings to play -- the younger divisions tend to be "easier" if you can get them to play at a level where they can hold up against decent Masters, and the prizes are the same. That way you don't pay for what equity you do amass.

I <3 OP cuz of his guts drawing all the idiots to this post claiming pokemon is cheaper and some other dumb money > Card Game examples while still being ignorant himself that Pokemon is too kiddy to have multiple formats to actually ban something unless they grow brains @ PUI/PUSA/Whatevercrap cuz it can never be broken enough these days because noobs love to play easy decks that win so they spend more money on products so that PUI/PUSA gets big bucks.

Yes, it is (especially when you also buy every Pokemon video game and collect all sorts of anime DVDs and manga). But I'm happy :)

I'm a collector too, so "illegal" cards aren't that big of an issue to me.

Pokemon has FREE tournamnets....Magic and Yu-Gi-Oh do not...they have better prize support, but that's a different story.

I think you need to look at it from a hobby / activity stand point. The cards are simply tools of the trade. They are your golf clubs, soccer shoes, lesson fees, club membership dues, etc. Pound for pound I think pokemon is as affordable as any other sport or hobby that people can participate. Plus you get a strong community, excuse to travel, spending quality time with your family, etc.

Ask any "Golf Widow" or parent of a select soccer team player how much time and money are getting invested in those pursuits. We get off pretty easy on our hobby I think.

I'm just curious....have you ever heard of a period/exclamation point/question mark?

And I'm curious...who are you to call people noobs? Have you ever done anything significant in a high ranked official tournament? I'm also assuming you play only hard decks because noobs play easy decks right?

This is false in Europe (and maybe somewhere else), where you have to pay for it. What are free in Europe are leagues and nats, but that's all. I don't know if you have to pay for playing in a pre-release, here it's 25€.

I have a friend who get only one US booster box per year and use tournaments and trades to get all he needs during a year.

That's true...and I knew that too -_-''

Some stores charge for leauges in the U.S. I know that.
Pre-relaseses are 25 USD
For a while is was 60 bucks for nats while it was at Origins anyways

Questions questions questions. If you can only ask and assume, why don't you riddle me this?: Why is it important to you to know if won or lost or won so much? Like I can only make statements such as these or be all important if I won something. Riiiiiiight....

yugioh drove me insane. too many jerks. in pokemon cycling out sets makes it more interesting. trust me its not a waste.

You stated only noobs play easy decks, so I'm curious how you think you have the right to say anything along those lines. So my question is: what have you done that is significant that gives you the right to call anyone a noob? If you aren't any better than the players you call noobs, then I would suggest you think about what you say before you say it :thumb: Also, thanks for using actual punctuation this time, at least what you say is somewhat legible.

What are you doing dude? Don't try to use logic with him! It's dangerous to his health. He might get hurt :(

Also, pokemon is extremely cheap compared to a lot of hobbies. Plus when you go to a tournament, that's a full day you used up without spending anything. If you hadn't you might have gone and seen a movie, or gone to another event that uses up money. (beyond lunch, food, etc. But you can pack your own if you so desire)
