Any chance best 2 out of 3 can be up to the players? It works great in doubles but singles should only be best of one (unless you made it say 3v3). With all the animation and switching out of pokemon, best 2/3 matches for 6v6 in singles could take over 2 hours!! Maybe more!

1. Having people try to agree on a style to play (doubles singles 100 50) is an absolutely horrible idea, you really need to set a standard for that or make it best 2 of 3 with 1 singles 1 doubles 1 other tier singles

Its singles by standard but I'm giving the option for the players to choose their battle style.

2. 4 days is waaaay to short, the standard for shoddy tournaments is a week, wifi can work with a week but should generally be longer, 4 days isn't even close to enough time.

4 days should be enough. If its a problem after round one, I'll change it to a week.

3. uh Stealth Rock over centralization, not really dude, that really shouldn't be banned

Okay, how many games have you played where you opponent did not use Stealth Rock? I, for one enjoy using Articuno and Moltres. No one attack should make a Pokemon loose 50 percent of its health on a switch in with almost no setup. The attack should be banned anyway.

4. Explosion/Selfdestruct are most definitely not too good for doubles and are actually a huge risk that will often loose the user the game, should not be banned.

Both of those attacks are broken in Doubles if the player can't stop it.

5. I question why Celebi and Jirachi are banned, its not the biggest deal though

I banned them for the same reason Nintendo bans them. The are Pokemon given out in events not everyone had access to.

6. Scizor should absolutely not be banned its not even close to uber and is absolute crap in doubles, this is the biggest mistake imo.

In any tournament I run, Scizor will be banned because I don't want Swords Dancing, Bullet Punching spamming Scizors winning.

7. Where are the bans on Garchomp (really ban Scizor and not garchomp xD) Latios, and Skymin

Yeah, Garchomp is a pain to deal with but he is not as broken as Scizor. Latios is not much better then Latias and Skymin will only be a threat to your Blissey.

8. Do you consider Light Ball Pikachu and Deap Sea Scale Clampearl broken or something xD all of those save Soul Dew should be unbanned.

I just ban all Pokemon specific items in general because they all give the Pokemon unfair stat increases.

9. Sleep Clause for singles should be 1 Pokemon

Yeah, you're right. I though I put that there. It was also about 2 in the morning when I was typing this.

10. Ban lists should be different based on the tier, for instance Garchomp and Latios aren't really broken in doubles even though they horribly are in singles

I don't follow tiers. Tiers are just a way to make people who follow them fell like they play better.

Ok, so I don't mean to offend you with any of that, but some of that stuff is ridiculous.

No, you did not. This is not a ****** tournament and is meant to put less stress on the good people who play this game form the destruction ****** did to the metagame. I feel like these are a good set of rules for people to show a bit of creativity and not using copy and paste Pokemon like I'm sure you're using.

Finally, I'd be happy to do Brackets for you if you want to do Swiss or Double elimination to hinder the hand of luck a bit.

If you want to do it, that would be awesome. I was going to ask Chompy if he wanted to do it but I made him a admin for this tournament.

EDIT: thanks to Tyler for pointing this out I missed it, Destiny Bond is not a OHKO move and should not be banned.

Well, it is still a OHKO attack. If goes through Focus Sash if the Pokemon has full HP. Most fast Pokemon like Gengar use it as a way to finish the Pokemon finishing it.

Basically, I would recommend going for 09 VGC rules (lots of pepple already have teams, its pretty stable) for doubles, and a more standard ruleset for singles, then having 1 of each in best 2 of 3

I think these rules are fine. Its the best 2 out of 3 in a format both player agree on. It can be all Singles, all Doubles or mix and match.

Alakapimp, the rules don't always have to be the standard rules. I think that if someone is going to be paying for prizes, then they should at least be able to customize their own rules.

(Rename Card too? What, are you just joining because you hear about this?)
 
It's his tournament let him decide the rules Jesus, you know you don't have to join? Quit complaining about something you can't control, that is life. I also happen to think these rules are quite good and are a change of pace from the common crap you see on ******. Maybe this will make you think outside the box that ****** gave you.
 
Sign me up too, sounds like an interesting ruleset. If it's possible to play in both, I'll do so.

You have the most backwards set of rules I've ever seen. I really recommend making it either strictly a doubles or single tournament, else you'll get some set of opponents who won't agree to do the other's preferred match type. The two battle types are completely different. Also, your species clause is absolutely silly. You're banning things based on flavor text?

You're saying that you want to make this not place-which-shall-not-be-named-like, yet you're using a ton of clauses and bans that are most commonly seen there (OHKOs, "chance" items, "specific" items)? By the way, OHKO moves do not "go through Focus Sash". The Sash holder will still survive with 1 HP.

Good luck with it. If the rules get de-borked I'll probably play.

- Why in the world is Scizor banned, but Garchomp isn't?
- I will be playing using my DS.
- The FC I will be using is 3523 9373 8253.
- For anyone playing me, I prefer Doubles.
- Uhm... Stealth Rock is banned? And Explosion/Selfdustruct are banned?

ATTN EVERYBODY:

If you do not like the rules, you do not have to join. If you feel that a rule should be changed for whatever reason, please....USE THE PRIVATE MESSAGE FEATURE. It is there for situations like this.

I myself joined this because it was out of the ordinary, and anybody who is complaining about a tournament that is giving ACTUAL PRIZES (Wii Points, Cards, whatever) can be a spectator and watch me win those Wii points :cool:
 
Sure, Ultra- but you may meet your match! And a spectator? Are you requesting a seat at the spectator's spot?

I too, signed up for the "not so norm" rules.
I like double battles- lvl 100, hopefully I battle some one who also favors the dblvl100 as well.
If not, lvl 50 db will suffice.
