Hello Poké-Fans,

Pokémon day has come and go. We had a very successful turnout and I’m proud to announce that we sold all (24) slots we had available for this event. Those who were able to join us this past Sunday (Fathers Day) will regale their friends with countless stories and new and exciting ways to improve their deck for this years most anticipated tournament, Nationals. Thank you to all who participated—you brought me so much joy to my heart and it was so cool seeing Fathers and Sons participating in this tournament (reminds me of me and my Dad back in the day).

Provide below in the link is the cool photos of this event.

Enjoy and always have a pleasant day.

Sincerely,
Deckmaster

Great idea Frankie, although I don't really agree with your proxy rule (lol, one step closer to allowing fake cards), but great idea! I'll try my best to make it there!

Boris,

I allow proxy cards because my tournaments at Kinokuniya are normally after a prerelease so not everyone has the chance to get the cards for their deck. Also, I arrange these tournaments so that gamers can get the most practice out of one card "without breaking the bank". However, at my last tournament no one used proxy cards.

Hello Folks,

Only a couple more days to this event! If anyone needs any last minute information, please feel free to contact me!

This was a great event. Frankie, this was one of the best events we have attended. You did a great job and led the tournament with a personality that epitomizes what pokemon should be all about.

1st Place Juniors, Pokemon Day (Manhattan, NY)

Since there is already a thread here, I'll make my tournament report in it.

I played Gyarados with a Luxray tech. Everything else was pretty standard. This tournament was a mixed age pairing so I was playing with Masters, Seniors, and Juniors.

Round 1 vs Eddie, a Master with Blastgatr
Start with Sableye, get setup fast, and start knocking out things before he got setup. I never saw a single Feraligatr or Blastoise.
1-0

Round 2 vs Pat W., a Master with Blastoise/Floatzel
Almost the same as round 1. He had an energy drought early in the game and I setup faster. He got 2 Blastoises, but never got them powered up. He took only one prize before I KOd them all.
2-0

Round 3 vs Jason A. , a Senior with Gengar
He started with Spiritomb to get setup fast. I tried to keep my hand low, but I had too many trainers, and he kept Poltergiesting me for 90-120, and he also was taking benched Uxies , Azelf, and Suicune with Shadow Room.
2-1

Round 4 vs Edwin W. with Dialga/Garchomp
He started with Garchomp C, I with Sableye. I Impersonated a Collector for 3 Magikarps and ended. He attached energy to Garchomp and a Gain and hit me for 10 as I had resistance. Everytime I benched a Magikarp he Dragon Rushed it until I lost 3 prizes. At one point I put down 2 Magikarps and he could only KO one. So next turn I had a Gyarados. I attached Expert Belt and KO’d a Garchomp. He brings up Dialga G X and hit me for 50 with Second Strike. I Tail Revenged for the KO as he already had a damage counter from a former Flash Bite. Prizes are now 4-3 his favor. He needed to put up a couple of Pokemon to sacrifice , so 2 turns later, Prizes are 2-3 my favor. He managed by now to get out Garchomp C X and he Dragon Rushed me for 130 total, but no KO because of Expert Belt. I KO’d Garchomp C X for 1-3 prizes. Next turn there was no way he could do 20, so I took the last prize for the game. My best comeback of the tournament.
3-1

Round 5 vs Alex, a Senior with Gengar
This was pretty much a repeat of Round 3. He got a double Mime wall going so I had trouble doing damage for a while. He took some benched Pokemon and won with only giving up 2 prizes.
3-2

Juniors Top Cut
As each Division had its own Top Cut, at least I would be playing another Junior for once. The two Seniors I lost to were both in Top Cut for Seniors and were playing at the same table.
Jack K. Gyarados vs Tyler (Tangrowth/ Jumpluff)

Game 1
He started with Tangela and a benched Shaymin. I started with Sableye active and Magikarp benched. I Impersonate for a Collector to get the other 3 Magikarps. He Warps up my Magikarp, puts out BTS, attached to Shaymin and attached Expert Belts to Tangela and Shaymin. He then KOd Magikarp with Energy Blow. Sableye goes up, Magikarp goes back down and I played a Bebes to get a Gyarados, evolved, and Impersonate a Felicity’s to put the other 2 Magikarps in the discard. He goes and attaches energy to Shaymin Energy Blows me for 50. I Warp Energy retreated Sableye and Tail Revenged for 70. I can’t remember the exact order from here, but I knocked out both Shaymin and Tangrowth with Expert Belts on and he never recovered.
1-0

Game 2
I can’t remember the details of this game as it was late and I was tired. It was pretty close, he got out a couple of Jumpluffs and a Shaymin and managed to Revenge Seed me to KO a Gyarados. I one shotted all the Jumpluffs and he couldn’t take prizes as fast as me.
2-0

4-2 for the championship. So I lost to two Seniors in Swiss, but beat 3 Masters and won against a Junior in Top Cut. I got a nice trophy and some packs and a binder as a door prize. After the tournament I went out to dinner in New York with my parents and grandpa.
