This program is AMAZING!
POP should really consider promoting your model of this online deck builder as a "preferred method" of decklists from now on.
It undoubtedly makes things SO MUCH easier on judges, reduces errors, and makes for quicker start times.

Thanks Prof Elm and everyone else. Your words are very kind and appreciated. I'm glad to hear from so many who like this program. Our PTO highly recommends it. Maybe POP will too someday.

UPDATE on the file-open-save feature...

I hope to have the next verison up tomorrow night that will allow users to save to an HTML file from the browser, then open it back up with the saved decklist data. For anyone who knows about Javascript, it's a security violation to access the file system. So, I will build the HTML, then prompt you to save it using your browser's FILE-SAVE feature to an HTML file. Once saved, you will be able to open the HTML file in a browser and have all the saved deck list data.

It will work, but it will require a very slight learning curve to use.

more to come...

If you want to put in a place for the name of your deck, I like either the spot above the list and below "Deck Registration Sheet" so that it is like a heading for the deck, or beneath the spot for your division as just another item of information there. And I also have my own suggestion, that you could have Favorite Card option to display either in addition to your Favorite Pokemon, or instead of it. For me, it is two entirely different things, and I think it would be good to have that since this is for the tcg tournaments.

Great work!! I thought the excel file i made was slick. I think I've been put out of business!! Thanks for doing this.

Love the auto completion and decklist check features. Incredibly, the rule-of-4 violation checks for same pokemon names across different sets. AND checks for at least 1 pokemon too!! You've thought of everything. Major kudos!!

Steve, just a FYI.

Today at the Battle Roads in Wheatridge, about half the lists I saw were completed on your program. Not just players from the South either, lots of local folks have picked up on this.

The feedback I heard today was great as well.

As a Judge / Deck checker, thanks for making this. It really speeds things up when you actually can read the list and get good, clear counts.

This is definitely one of the greatest things I've seen in a long time. Truly awesome. Thank you very much.

To keep things tight, I'll put the optional deck name on the left side because that is where the most room is.

Regarding Favorite Card, that's certainly something that could go on the list as a custom build. I'd probably just let you enter some URL off the internet or your local PC that would display in place of the Favorite Pokemon, within the width/height restrictions.

I'm going to bed. I have the SAVE/RELOAD feature up-and-running at home on a beta-test version. I works under IE, put I'll need to test in under Firefox and Safari before I upload it. It's not the most straight forward way to SAVE file because of internet security restrictions, but it works.

I'm going to take a day off and start back up on Monday. Hopefully, by Monday night, the SAVE/RELOAD enhancement will be live.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Thanks Wayne. I made this for our local players first. I'm glad they like it. Sorry I couldn't make it North. Who won?

I noticed some people at the Sevierville, TN Battle Road to have some deck lists from SteveP's decklist program too!

Steve, very nice. Not sure how much time went in to it but im glad you did it very nice of you to throw it out here for everyone to use. Thank You

It is absolutely amazing. Seriously awesome!

Definitely a lot of time and effort went into this... it looks great and is easy to use.

With a few more features (Unlimited support? Saving decklists?) Its an absolute must have for all players. I wouldn't be surprised if POP wanna get their hands on it.

First Chairman Kaga's rulebook and now this... wow, Pokémon sure has a lot of talented fans

This gets me thinking...

I have a Perl module that lets me edit PDFs, particularly adding text to them. If I can get SteveP's program to provide some structured output (like an XML file), I can write a Web service that puts the info onto an official decklist sheet.

With a few more features (Unlimited support? ...

Why does anyone want Unlimited support for this?

(Unlimited Support = getting card scans for all the Unlimited-only cards, adding the data for each of those cards into his database, ...) I just don't see it being worth it.

This is very nice, it'll be really helpful in the upcoming premiere events.

One thing I like especially about this is the auto-entry of the Set-#. That was always annoying when I filled out my lists, now I don't have to even worry about it.

Great job with the program too.

Regarding Unlimited support, The Gorn is right. If the card-suggestion list contained every card ever made, it would basically seize to function with graphics turned on.

BTW, the software performs fastest in the Firefox browser.

I'm uploading a beta version of the next release tonight for testing. The SAVE feature is working, though it requires a bit of learning due to javascript's inability to write to disk. After some final testing tomorrow, I'll have the final version up tomorrow night sometime.

Once the beta is uploaded, it will be available from the index page at:

http://www.nancyweb.com/pokemon-decklist/index.htm

The beta 1.2 is available. One note about security. To get all of the SAVE functionality to work online, you'll need to lower security settings a bit (medium in IE) or add the www.nancyweb.com website to the trusted site list.

Also, you can see a fun, league decklist I made and saved online at:

www.nancyweb.com/pokemon-decklist/SteveP.html

Depending on your security settings, you might not be able to load this saved decklist unless you do what I mentioned above.

Anyway, I love to hear your recommendations. The offline version will hopefully be available for download soon, once I find a willing download server.
