gotta have 8 damn cleffas......(gasp).....Well I already have big ol' gator deck in my mind now but if there'll be a new haymakers out there , i might change my mind cuz i never liked playing big decks. Too bad to see Magma and Aqua go after worlds....it was one of the best haymakers in the EX set. O well , maybe some kinda Team Light and Team Night might appear in Diapearl -_-

mind u, i be they will make the slowking so it has to be active to get a tool out. if not- start building it ppl.

If they do that they might as well have pidgeot only useful as active two.

I don't really like this set; I like blissey and steelix and cleffa.

Theres tons of fighting weakness, and tyrogue can FTKO cleffas and dunsparces again :D

The Houndoom is SICK too, basically every pokemon power that doesn't require you to be active can be abused. (magnetons, delcattys, magcargos, pidgeots, etc)

Basically Nintendo is just giving its nearly final light cuz you all know that this is pretty much the second to the last EX set. Houndoom? It's no big deal since you can easily KO it , what i'm really concerned about is Cleffa , with it , every deck will like have 4 of it. Wish they'd make it a secret rare to balance the metagame....hehehehe....Can't wait for the Gator God to return again and slay the pesky Red dragon and the freaky Flaming mole.

How does that balance the metagame? Keeping players from getting it only means that those lucky few will have it.

...

Been playing too much Yugioh lately?

Making cards rarer does NOT balance metagames, it makes rich people DOMINATE the normal people.

Ariados - Grass - HP70
Stage 1: Evolves from Spinarak

[C] Poison Spectre - Does 10 damage plus 30 more damage for each special condition on the
defending Pokemon.
[G] Spider Trap - The defending Pokemon is now Poisoned and Asleep. Before doing damage,
you may switch one of your opponent's benched Pokemon with the defending Pokemon
(your opponent chooses the defending Pokemon to switch). If you do, the new defending Pokemon is now Poisoned and Asleep.

Weakness - Psychic
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

This could be kind of neat in draft, and I'm pretty sure there are some Pokemon that stop retreat when the opponent is affected by a special condition. Poliwrath from FRLG, Venusaur ex does 3 special conditions. Makes for a fun deck.

bangiras said:
Sunflora - Grass - HP70
Stage 1: Evolves from Sunkern

[G] Dazzle Dance - Both of the defending Pokemon are now Confused.
[C][C] Green Blast - Does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each of your Grass energy in play.

Weakness - Fire
Resistance - Water
Retreat - 1

It's like a grass Gorebyss, only it doesn't count the opponent's energy. Not that great, but it's better to be grass than water in this metagame (Dark Tyranitar is weak to grass, fire weakness is better than lightning weakness), so it could see some play. *shrug*

bangiras said:
Houndoom - Fire - HP70
Stage 1 : Evolves from Houndour

Poke Body - Lonely Heart
If you have fewer Pokemon in play than the opponent, the opponent can't play Trainer cards
(excluding Supporters) from their hand.

[C][C] Leering Bite - 20 damage. Flip a coin. If heads, the defending Pokemon is now Paralyzed.
[R][R][C] Flamethrower - 70 damage. Discard a Fire energy card attached to Houndoom.

Weakness - Water
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

How cool would an Armaldo and Houndoom deck be? Your opponent couldn't play trainers at all. You would just need to shut down their Pidgeot (Delcatty's taken care of with Moon) and they would be drawing only one card per turn. With Dark Slowking in play, you could control that card. Yum. ;/

bangiras said:
Ho-oh ex - Fire - HP110
Basic

Poke Power - Golden Wing Beat
This Power can be used once during your opponent's turn, when Ho-oh ex's HP is reduced to 0
by an opponent's attack. Choose up to 2 energy cards attached to Ho-oh ex and move them
to your other Pokemon in any way you'd like.

[C][C][C] Rainbow Burn - Does 10 damage + 20 more damage for each different type of basic
energy card attached to Ho-oh ex.

Weakness - Water
Resistance - none
Retreat - 2

Mmm, nice. Since it's an ex and you've got to load it up with energy, I probably won't play it, but I really love its power, and the attack can do 130 damage in conjunction with something like Flygon or Electrode ex (Trode ex could put all the energy on Team Aqua's Manectric, which it could move to Ho-oh, and when Ho-oh died, you could move the energy back to Team Aqua's Manectric with Ho-oh's built in 2x EXP. All). Cool!

bangiras said:
Politoed ex - Water - HP 150
Stage 2: Evolves from Poliwhirl

[W][C] Sticky Tongue - Does 30 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon. If the Pokemon is a stage 2 evolution, this attack does 50 damage instead.
[C][C][C] Hit and Hide - 40 damage. Switch Politoed ex with one of your benched Pokemon.
[W][W][C][C] Swallow - 70 damage. If the defending Pokemon's remaining HP is less than
Politoed ex's remaining HP, this attack does 120 damage.

Weakness - Grass
Resistance - none
Retreat - 3

This is a really excellent card. You could combine it with Poliwrath (FRLG) to confuse it, lock it in place, then switch to Politoed ex, which could use its attack where it bounces back to Poliwrath to keep it locked forever (unless of course the opponent uses Switch, Warp Point, Reversal, Briney, etc.) to do a lot of damage over a long period of time. Definitely a format impacting possibility.

bangiras said:
Corsola - Water - HP60
Basic

[C] Call for Friends - Search your deck for a Water Pokemon or a Fighting Pokemon (excluding
Pokemon ex), show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards.
[W] Double Shot - Choose 2 of your opponent's benched Pokemon. This attack does 10 damage
to each of those Pokemon.

Weakness - Grass
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

Wynaut, only for Water and Fighting (and it doesn't have the infinite searching capability with infinite energy clause). Could be decent, but I think I'll stick to Dunsparce and Cleffa. Still, stuff like Corsola is always worth mentioning.

bangiras said:
Electabuzz - Lightning - HP70
Basic

Poke Body - Mark of Evolution
If Electabuzz is an evolved Pokemon and is attacked by an opposing Pokemon that has special
energy cards attached to it, the damage is reduced by 40.

[L][C] Double Shock - Flip 2 coins. This attack does 10 damage x the number of heads.
If even 1 coin is heads, the defending Pokemon is Paralyzed.
[L][C][C][C] Luster Blast - 70 damage. Discard 3 energy attached to Electabuzz.

Weakness - Fighting
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

Combine with Sandstorm Elekid. Possibility for a T2-3 'Buzz that resists special energy cards for 40 like Glalie, but with a souped-up attack. It's main problem is its weakness to fighting, but the format could be taking a gigantic shift after this set. We won't know until it's released.

bangiras said:
Ampharos - Lightning - HP120
Stage 2: Evolves from Flaaffy

Poke Power - Energy Connect
As often as you'd like during your turn, you may use this power. Move 1 basic energy card attached to one of your benched Pokemon to your active Pokemon. This power can't be used if Ampharos is affected by a special condition.

[L][C][C] Miracle Thunder - 50 damage. You may discard all Lightning energy attached to Ampharos. If you do, the defending Pokemon is now burned and confused.

Weakness - Fighting
Resistance - Steel
Retreat - 2

Expedition Amphy returns. Team Aqua's Manectric has proven to be better in decks such as Blaziken (although using neither is the best option), but it's something to note that they're reprinting it.

bangiras said:
Espeon ex - Psychic - HP110
Stage 1: Evolves from Eevee

PokePower - Devo Flash
This power can be used once during your turn when you play Espeon ex from your hand to evolve one of your Pokemon. Choose one of the opponent's benched evolved Pokemon and return the highest stage evolution card to their hand.

[C][C] Tail Slap - Does 30 damage to one of the opponent's Pokemon.
[P][C][C] Psy Loop - 60 + 30 for each of your opponent's Trainer cards in play.

Weakness - Psychic
Resistance - none
Retreat - 0

How sweet is this? It's a part ATM: Rock, part Deoxys Xatu. Correct me if I'm wrong. With the new tools coming out soon, there's no way that this won't see some initial hype, if not some Regional play.

bangiras said:
Slowking - Psychic - HP70
Stage 1: Evolves from Slowpoke

Poke Power - Item Search
Once per turn before your attack you may search your deck for a Pokemon Tool card, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterwards. This power can't be used if Slowking is affected by a special condition.

[P][C] Recycle Blow - Does 20 damage plus 10 more damage for each Pokemon Tool in your discard pile. You can't add more than 60 damage this way.

Weakness - Grass
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

This is perfect for decks like Dark Slowking or Primape, which rely on Tools to do big damage. It's worthless as just a searching pokemon if you don't use either of the formerly mentioned, though, since Pidgeot can search those tools out for you, and while the new tools are good, they're not good enough to merit playing 1-1 or 2-2 of Slowking just to search for tools. This is also the first Slowking EVER, as far as I can remember, that has a good attack. 80 damage for 2 energy? Sick.

bangiras said:
Poliwrath - Fighting - HP120
Stage 2: Evolves from Poliwhirl

Poke Body - Spinning Whirlpool
If Poliwrath is your active Pokemon and is damaged by an opponent's attack (even if Poliwrath is knocked out), the Pokemon that attacked Poliwrath is now confused.

[F][C] Power Blow - 40 damage. If the defending Pokemon is dark or has Dark in its name, this
attack does 40 damage plus 30 more damage.
[W][C][C] Hyper Splash - 60 damage. If the defending Pokemon is a stage 2 evolution, this attack
does 60 damage plus 30 more damage.

Weakness - Psychic
Resistance - none
Retreat - 2

If Politoed ex decks see play, this might too, to Tech against lightning, but it's a huge metagame card. It would OHKO Dark Ampharos for only 1 Double Rainbow Energy, and 90 for 3 energy (two of which are colorless) isn't so bad, as the current format runs rampant with Stage 2s. It's a doubtful prospect, but if Politoed ex gets big, this will see a few techs.

bangiras said:
Sudowoodo - Fighting - HP60
Basic

[C] Mimic - Choose one of the defending Pokemon's attacks. Mimic copies all effects of that
attack, including damage. If you can't pay for the energy cost of the attack, Mimic does nothing.
[F][C][C] Karate Chop - Does 50 damage - 10 damage for each damage counter on Sudowoodo.

Weakness - Water
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

Aquapolis Sudowoodo, right? We don't really have any other good way of mimicing the defending Pokemon's attacks now (Clefable ex is awful), only Benched Pokemon's attacks, which may or may not be a good thing. However, Sudowoodo can't use DRE or Scramble energies. In a deck like Flygon or Electrode ex, maybe. Otherwise, it'll be hard, but we'll see what comes up.

bangiras said:
Tyrogue - Fighting - HP40
Basic

Poke Power - Baby Evolution
You may use this power once during your turn. Select a Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop card from your hand and play it on top of Tyrogue, evolving it. Then, remove all of the damage counters from this Pokemon.

[C] Divine Punch - If you have fewer Pokemon in play than the opponent, this attack does 10
damage x the difference in number of Pokemon.

Weakness - Psychic
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

Ehhh. It does OHKO Dunsparce, if Dunsparce has used SARs for the full three Pokemon and all you've got is Tyrogue. But they have to fill up their bench a whole lot for Tyrogue to be effective (by effective, I mean not run the risk of being immediately KO'd if you have no benched Pokemon) This really isn't that great, unless I'm making a n00b out of myself (again) and don't see something. =/

bangiras said:
Eevee - Colorless - HP40
Basic

Poke Power - Energy Evolution
You can use this power once during your turn when you attach an energy card from your hand
to Eevee. Search your deck for an evolution card that evolves from Eevee and is also the same
type as the energy card you just attached, and play it on top of Eevee, evolving Eevee. Shuffle your deck afterwards. You can't use this power if you attach energy to Eevee as an effect of an attack.

[C] Tail Slap - 10 damage.

Weakness - Fighting
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

I can't remember if this is the Promo or the Discovery Eevee, but both were good, if I recall correctly. I haven't played Unlimited, much less THOUGHT about any of the Neo sets for just about forever. This set is a good refresher. =) This Eevee should see play if Umbreon ex and Espeon ex do.

bangiras said:
Cleffa - Colorless - HP50
Basic

Poke Power - Baby Evolution
You may use this power once during your turn. Select a Clefairy card from your hand and play it on top of Cleffa, evolving it. Then, remove all of the damage counters from this Pokemon.

[C] Eeek - Shuffle your hand into your deck, then draw 6 cards.

Weakness - Fighting
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

There's a big difference between 6 and 7. People will need to run more drawing when Dunsparce leaves. From Cleffa's 6 cards, after you draw one next turn, you'll have 7. Just play an energy and Steven's Advice. Oh wait. The opponent has out a Cleffa. Steven's Advice will give you 2-3 cards. =/ I guess it's back to maxing on Copycat. Cleffa will either drastically change trainer engines in decks, or fall flat on its annoyingly cute face, when it's released. I'm hoping for the former, but something is whispering in my ear that it's the latter.

bangiras said:
Aipom - Colorless - HP50
Basic

Poke Power - Grab and Run
You can use this power once during your turn, if Aipom is on your bench. Draw a card. Then,
discard all cards attached to Aipom and put Aipom on the bottom of your deck. You can't
use more than one Grab and Run power per turn.

[C] Tail Slap - Does 10 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon.

Weakness - Fighting
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

Why are people talking about this and Magcargo? Seriously, this isn't that good. I'd rather just Magcargo and then TV Reporter, or Mary's Impulse, or Steve, or something. Actually, I'd rather just use Pidgeot for the card instead of wasting a spot for Aipom. -___-

bangiras said:
Porygon2 - Colorless - HP70
Stage 1: Evolves from Porygon

Poke Power - 3D Reset
Once per turn, before your attack, you may use this power. Choose a Pokemon tool attached to one of your Pokemon and return it to your hand. You can't use this power if Porygon2 is affected by a special condition.

[C] Data Retrieval - Draw cards until you have 8 cards in your hand.
[C][C][C] Scramble Trip - 40 damage. If Porygon2 has any Scramble Energy attached to it, this
attack does 40 damage plus 20 more damage and the opponent is now confused.

Weakness - Fighting
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

I really shouldn't be mentioning this, but it looks interesting. I mean, Data Retrieval would be sweet if you were extremely desperate, but unlike Exeggutor from FRLG, which only has the Eeeeeeeek for 8 cards and some random flippy attack, Porygon 2 has the "Return a Tool to your hand" power. If Espeon ex gets popular, hey, that might be useful. Or completely useless. Take your pick. I'll definitely try a 1-1 in a deck or two, and if it's a lame idea, so be it, but I tried. ;/

bangiras said:
Miltank - Colorless - HP60
Basic

Poke Body - Thick Fat
Damage dome to Miltank by Fire-types and Water-types is reduced by 30.

[C] Healing Milk - Flip 2 coins. For each heads, remove 2 damage counters from 1 of your Pokemon.
[C][C] Body Slam - 20 damage. Flip a coin. If heads, the defending Pokemon is Paralyzed.

Weakness - Fighting
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

I just had to comment on the fact that they're using the "Thick Fat" ability from the GBA in the TCG. Maybe the format will become dominated by Blaziken/Blastoise decks and Miltank will score a huge break. ;p

bangiras said:
Blissey ex - Colorless - HP160
Stage 1: Evolves from Chansey/Chansey ex

Poke Power - Happy Support
This power can be used once during your turn when you play Blissey ex from your hand to evolve one of your Pokemon. Choose whichever of your Pokemon you like. Then, discard all energy cards and remove all damage counters from the selected Pokemon.

[C] Energy Absorbtion - Choose up to three energy cards from your diiscard pile and attach them to Blissey ex.
[C][C][C][C] Rollout - 60

Weakness - Fighting
Resistance - none
Retreat - 1

Pokemon Nurse in Pokemon form. I guess you would use a few Super Scoop Ups with Blissey ex, and Energy Absorbtion would be extremely awesome (since it'd be hard to OHKO Blissey ex) because you could get back three Scramble energy or something, and then move them (with Sceptile's Energy Trans, which also complements its power) to the bench, or something like that. It's cool to think about. This card will be abused somehow, I hope. I love the small retreat cost. =)

bangiras said:
Lugia ex - Colorless - HP100
Basic

Poke Body - Silver Shine
If Lugia ex is your active Pokemon and is damaged by an opponent's attack (even if Lugia ex is
knocked out), flip a coin. If heads, return an energy card attached to the attacking Pokemon
to the opponent's hand.

[R][W][L] Elemental Blast - 200 damage. Discard a Fire energy, a Water energy, and a
Lightning energy attached to Lugia ex.

Weakness - Psychic
Resistance - Fighting
Retreat - 1

<3<3<3. Elemental Blast for 200 damage? That's incredible! There will be some way to manipulate this, I know that much. Being weak to C and being an ex doesn't help, but this is so much better than Charizard ex, that's for sure (although Lugia ex can't OHKO Wailord ex w/ a Buffer Piece like Chex can <3).

bangiras said:
Umbreon ex - Dark - HP110
Stage 1: Evolves from Eevee

Poke Power - Dark Ring
This Power can be used once during your turn when you play Umbreon ex from your hand to evolve one of your Pokemon. Choose one of the opponent's benched Pokemon and switch it with the active Pokemon. (Your opponent chooses the active Pokemon to switch.)

[C] Dark Cry - 20 damage, and the defending Pokemon can't retreat or use Poke Powers during the opponent's next turn.
[D][C][C] Night Fang - 60

Weakness - Fighting
Resistance - Psychic
Retreat - 1

Cool. Like Espeon, it has one of those "come into play powers", only it's an automatic GOW with Umby. Super Scoop up the Umbreon ex and do it again. It's too risky for tournaments, most likely, but a fun idea. The power compliments the first attack, and Dark Dragonite/Dark Electrode would make Umbreon ex easy to power up. Possibilities are nice.

bangiras said:
Tyranitar ex - Dark - HP160
Stage 2: Evolves from Pupitar

[F] Tear Down - 30 damage. Discard a Stadium card in play.
[C][C] Overturn - 30 damage. Discard a special energy card attached to the defending Pokemon.
[F][D][C] Disturb - 70 damage. Discard the top card from your opponent's deck.
[F][D][D][C] Tear Through - 120 damage. Discard the top 3 cards from your own deck.

Weakness - Grass/Fighting
Resistance - Psychic
Retreat - 2

Cool, I guess. =/ Disturb is the best attack I see there, although discarding the Top 3 cards of your own deck works with stuff like Marowak FRLG and Slowking from this set, along with maybe Banette from HL (I know Banette does damage for Special Energy in opponent's discard, but I think its other attack does damage for Evolutions in your own discard? Ehh..) Still, Ludicolo (Deoxys Holo) is a much better option when looking to discard certain cards in vast quantities. This won't see play, I don't think.

bangiras said:
Steelix ex - Steel - HP150
Stage 1: Evolves from Onix

Poke Body - Poison Resistance
Steelix ex can't be Poisoned.

[M][C][C] Metal Charge - 70 damage. Place 1 damage counter on Steelix ex.
[F][F][C][C] Stone Avalanche - Discard 2 Fighting energy attached to Steelix ex and do 100 damage to one of your opponent's Pokemon.

Weakness - Fire/Fighting
Resistance - Grass/Lightning
Retreat - 5

Neat. It's Volcanic Ash all over again. ;/ This time, though, it's on a Pokemon with 2 resistances and a 5 C retreat cost. There is the cool MCC 70 attack, and the no-being-poisoned Body. This card looks straightforward after the monotony that was Eon (Blaze, Blaze, Blaze, Blaze, Blaze).

bangiras said:
Scizor ex - Steel - HP120
Stage 1: Evolves from Scyther/Scyther ex

Poke Body - Hunch
If Scizor ex's HP is 60 or less, all of Scizor ex's attacks do an additional 40 damage to the
defending Pokemon.

[M][C] Steel Wing - 40 damage. During your opponent's next turn, all damage done to Scizor ex by attacks is reduced by 20.
[C][C][C] Throw Down - 50 damage. If the defending Pokemon is an evolved Pokemon, this attack does 50 damage plus an additional 30 damage.

Weakness - Fire
Resistance - Grass
Retreat - 1

This card looks extremely exciting. With four metals, it will be almost impossible to OHKO Scizor ex, and even harder to do it without activating his Poke Body first. It will basically be an automatical 120 damage if Scizor gets hit, since Hay isn't coming back any time soon, or at least I don't believe so. Steel Wing only helps Scizor ex out as he gets stocked for his 2nd attack, which is also boostable, an unbelivable treat. This card is also the first card that evolves from an ex or a normal card. Cool little twist, because the Scyther in this set is great.

bangiras said:
Professor Elm's Training Method (Supporter)
Search your deck for an evolution card, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand.
Shuffle your deck afterwards.

Mary's Request (Supporter)
Draw a card. If you don't have any stage 2 Pokemon in play, draw 2 more cards.

These are both excellent. PETM we've all seen before, but Mary's Request we haven't. I think it could very well see some play, as it's just a TV Reporter with the bonus (drawback, in some decks) of not discarding a card. TV Reporter may very well be the better choice still, since Cleffa is coming back and Copycat will be maxed on if Cleffa becomes popular again.

bangiras said:
Rage Crystal (Pokemon Tool)
If you have more prize cards left than your opponent, all damage done to the opponent's active Pokemon by the Pokemon Rage Crystal is attached to is increased by 20. Rage Crystal can only be attached to an evolved Pokemon (excluding Pokemon ex). If a Pokemon already has a tool attached to it, you can't attach Rage Crystal. If the Pokemon Rage Crystal is attached to becomes a basic Pokemon or a Pokemon ex, discard Rage Crystal.

I don't like that bold text. It does bolster Electrode ex players, though. Electrode ex/Delcatty would greatly benefit from something like this, if it could find the room. Neat little card, probably will make the cut for teching 1 in, in some cases, but not in copies or 2, 3 or 4, I'd say, unless the deck ran Electrode ex or other kamikaze-type Pokemon.

bangiras said:
Sitrus Berry (Pokemon Tool)
If, between turns, the Pokemon that Sitrus Berry is attached to has 3 or more damage counters on it, remove 3 damage counters and discard Sitrus Berry. This card can't be attached to a Pokemon that already has a tool attached to it. This card can't be attached to Pokemon ex, Dark Pokemon, or Pokemon with an owner it its name. If this card becomes attached to one of those Pokemon, discard it.

Gross, gross, gross. Gold Berry was way better. There's a gigantic difference between 3 and 4. The format is shaped in such a way that OHKOs aren't as big a thing as they were when Blaziken dominated, but removing just 3 damage counters is not worth the space for a Sitrus Berry, unless you're running something like Slowbro or Xatu or Bellossom. *shrug* I just don't think so, what with the no Dark, owner, and ex Pokemon. That eliminates Dark Tyranitar, Dark Ampharos, Dark Dragonite, Rocket's Sneasel ex, Rocket's Scyther ex, Team Magma's Groudon, Dark Electrode, etc etc. Gold > Sitrus.

bangiras said:
Power Root (Pokemon Tool)
The Pokemon that this card is attached to has its max HP increased by 20. The Pokemon that this card is attached to can't use Poke Powers or Poke Bodies. This card can't be attached to a Pokemon that already has a tool attached to it. This card can't be attached to Pokemon ex, Dark Pokemon, or Pokemon with an owner it its name. If this card becomes attached to one of those Pokemon, discard it. No splashable Magma Groudon, sorry. :(

Again, there's not much this can be attached to in terms of the main decks in the metagame. However, I can see one thing that would hugely benefit from this card: FRLG Slowbro. Wait, it couldn't use its Poke Power. Seriously, what can you attach this to. It would be nice to attach it to Armaldo for a turn to shut off its power, use Supporters, then use Porygon 2 <3 to bring the Power Root back into your hand so that your opponent can't use trainers, but I don't see a purpose for this card. Increase your Dunsparce's HP to 70? =/

bangiras said:
Cursed Powder (Pokemon Tool)
If the Pokemon that Cursed Powder is attached to is active and is knocked out by damage from an opponent's attack, put 3 damage counters on the Pokemon that attacked it. Cursed Powder can only be attached to an evolved Pokemon (excluding Pokemon ex). If a Pokemon already has a tool attached to it, you can't attach Cursed Powder. If the Pokemon Cursed Powder is attached to becomes a basic Pokemon or a Pokemon ex, discard Cursed Powder.

Just a beefed-up Counterattacks Claws from Neo Destiny or Revelation, I believe. Destiny, I think. Anyway, this would seriously be a cool deck if you combined it with Sharpedo from R&S or something like that. Might be an idea worth looking into.

bangiras said:
Lightness Berry (Pokemon Tool)
The retreat cost for the Pokemon that Lightness Berry is attached to is always 0. This card can't be attached to a Pokemon that already has a tool attached to it. This card can't be attached to Pokemon ex, Dark Pokemon, or Pokemon with an owner it its name. If this card becomes attached to one of those Pokemon, discard it.

This card is cool because you can attach it to basics, but at the same price as Power Root and Sitrus Berry: you can't attach it to Pokemon with Dark or Owner in their names. Bummer. Lightness Berry does last forever, but Balloon Berry can be attached to any Pokemon (except maybe exs, I can't really remember). I think this will see play even with its gigantic drawback. Free retreat is way too uncommon nowadays.

bangiras said:
Buffer Gem (Pokemon Tool)
The Pokemon that this card is attached to has no weakness. Buffer Gem can only be attached to an evolved Pokemon (excluding Pokemon ex). If a Pokemon already has a tool attached to it, you can't attach Buffer Gem. If the Pokemon Buffer Gem is attached to becomes a basic Pokemon or a Pokemon ex, discard Buffer Gem.

This can be attached to Darks and Owned Pokemon. Sweet! Dark Dragonite can thrive without fear of Crystal Shard, a little more than usual, anyway. Plus, this card is just awesome overall. It's a permenant weakness guard. This is probably the main reason that Espeon ex's 2nd attack will be powerful. Buffer Gem is incredible!

bangiras said:
Cyclone Energy
Provides 1 Colorless energy. When you play this card from your hand onto your active Pokemon, switch your opponent's active Pokemon with one of their benched Pokemon. The opponent chooses the benched Pokemon to switch.

Warp Energy
Provides 1 colorless energy. When you play this card from your hand onto your active Pokemon, switch it with one of your benched Pokemon.

Both are good cards. Warp Energy is great in stuff like Slaking/Blaziken, or just in Blaziken in general. It's a good Tech card, period. Cyclone is less used, but it's better than people give it credit for, I believe, so I stuck it on here.

This set is unbelievable. I can't fathom how this will impact the RS-On format, but it's going to leave some kind of mark. Maybe some of this stuff will appear in EX: Emerald. We don't really know for sure, but it's nice to speculate once in a while. I didn't include the Unknowns because I was extremely disappointed the Unknowns Dark, Metal, and Normal were not reprinted with their powers, and I had hoped that maybe the Unknowns F, G, L, W, and P (and R for fiRe?) would get powers too. Alas, no, but there are some extremely cool unknowns that might wriggle their way into tournament play. A lot of them only need colorless energies. Good stuff.

Somebody has a lot of time on their hands. :D

Yeah, I agree, this set has sooo much potential. I don't think any set in the past has had so many great cards. This set will give the game a 360.

Just in case it hasn't been said yet in here. Based on the topic that Mike Liesik posted in the Worlds forum, which is on the sets is legal for worlds, he does make a bit of quick mention of EX10 (tentative title) and it suggests that it is to be at or after Worlds. So assuming this set is the next set or if it is even later on, it is mostly likely now few or none of these cards will show in the upcoming EX: Emerald set. However this is my pure speculation as a player so who knows what might happen.

This could be kind of neat in draft, and I'm pretty sure there are some Pokemon that stop retreat when the opponent is affected by a special condition. Poliwrath from FRLG, Venusaur ex does 3 special conditions. Makes for a fun deck.

It's like a grass Gorebyss, only it doesn't count the opponent's energy. Not that great, but it's better to be grass than water in this metagame (Dark Tyranitar is weak to grass, fire weakness is better than lightning weakness), so it could see some play. *shrug*

How cool would an Armaldo and Houndoom deck be? Your opponent couldn't play trainers at all. You would just need to shut down their Pidgeot (Delcatty's taken care of with Moon) and they would be drawing only one card per turn. With Dark Slowking in play, you could control that card. Yum. ;/

All). Cool!

Wynaut, only for Water and Fighting (and it doesn't have the infinite searching capability with infinite energy clause). Could be decent, but I think I'll stick to Dunsparce and Cleffa. Still, stuff like Corsola is always worth mentioning.

Expedition Amphy returns. Team Aqua's Manectric has proven to be better in decks such as Blaziken (although using neither is the best option), but it's something to note that they're reprinting it.

How sweet is this? It's a part ATM: Rock, part Deoxys Xatu. Correct me if I'm wrong. With the new tools coming out soon, there's no way that this won't see some initial hype, if not some Regional play.

Sick.

I'll definitely try a 1-1 in a deck or two, and if it's a lame idea, so be it, but I tried. ;/

I just had to comment on the fact that they're using the "Thick Fat" ability from the GBA in the TCG. Maybe the format will become dominated by Blaziken/Blastoise decks and Miltank will score a huge break. ;p

Just a beefed-up Counterattacks Claws from Neo Destiny or Revelation, I believe. Destiny, I think. Anyway, this would seriously be a cool deck if you combined it with Sharpedo from R&S or something like that. Might be an idea worth looking into.

Good stuff.

I think you just broke the reacord for the longest post ever. And I think I just broke the reacord for the longest quote ever.

Nope. That's definantly not the longest post ever. Look at EX: PreEmptive Darkness in CaC. 148 Text spoilers in a single post. SuperWooper, why did you say Lugia ex is weak to Colourless when the text spoiler say psychic?

Or more importantly, when the actual card has a purple symbol with an eye on it under the word weakness.

Sorry for misreading the card. =/ I guess this means I'm not perfect, which is something I'm constantly trying to prove to everyone, but now all the work that I've been building for years and years has crumbled into nothingness, and it's all your fault ZoraJolteon!!!1

If it is weak to Psychic (because psychic is not a very popular type NOW, but very well could be in the next few months what with Emerald and this set [whenever GSSS comes out...late July?]), then that's good for Lugia ex. Nobody plays Gardevoir anymore, ensuring that it will be able to hit for 200 two turns in a row, however people choose to do it. Electrode ex/TA Manectric, Flygon, Team Magma's Camerupt/Ampharos, etc. Cool.
