pokemon is dying.
you know it's dying just by looking at major tournament attendance.

who is the most populated age division? masters.
in 10-20 years pokemon will be dead, because all the masters that are in their early to mid 20's will
most likely be married, have a house of their own as well as have children of their own.
i'm going to just be generous and assume that is 50% of the population.
let's take asmall regional tournament.
220 masters
100 seniors
80 juniors
think if we cut that in half or more. almost nobody will be playing the game.
also you have to account for the poke parents that join these tournaments just to kill time
while their younger children are in the tournament as well. for every 100 masters there is usually about
10 poke parents. the games dying.

Is there ANY TCG where the majority of the players are not 15+?

I bet if you went to any MTG or YGO tourney, you would see the same thing. So by your logic, all TCGs are dying.

You're comparing the only division with no age restrictions to the other 2 that have them. Wat.

Which country's are they? Parts of Africa is starting to get into the TCG.the World Champions from Portugal.I dont think the games dying off- I think its expanding.

What evidence is there that Pokémon is "dying off" in other countries?

Yes, companies that are putting more into marketing are dying. Nice logic there.

And if that wasn’t bad enough, we only had 17 Masters in the tournament. The last time we had that few players in a “big” tournament like this was 7 years ago. Yes, SEVEN! The Pokémon TCG has been dying in Finland for two years now and I see nothing stopping it.

Gee, i wonder where my evidence could be from...

and i know the guys who have been playing it as long as i have (from the beginning, way back when i was attending middle school), they will know the difference. I can still remember LOCALS being 30+ people, WEEKLY. It was amazing.

Of course you can't compare Pokemon as it is now to when it launched and became a huge fad. If you compare it to the dying days under WotC, it's in a FAR better state than it was.

There are some countries where Pokemon isn't doing so well, but that's got more to do with problems wiith the distributors/organizers than anything else.

At the same time, there are new countries getting OP (Chile and South Africa) plus places where the game is growing (Germany, France).

Well one thing to think about is how the Pokemon generation like myself will raise their kids. Since all of us have fond memories from our childhood, we'd be willing to buy the merch for our kids. The Pokemon generation is in their early 20s, so it's only a matter of time before our kids come of age to get into videogames and of course... Pokemon! If Pokemon gets their marketing right, there could be another boom. It's not super likely but nonetheless a possibility.

I completely agree with this! I would definitely buy my kids some cards or a video game if it's still around in like 7 or 8 years!

I would like to think that the majority of players would continue playing this game forever. The only thing that would hold it back, would be the video games. Gamefreak is bound to run out of ideas for monsters soon enough, and they can only remarket the same ones so many times. I completely expect them to have maybe one more generation and then make new regions with the same pokes.

As for there being not as many kids in the younger divisions as there are masters, well I think that goes to the fact that many of the current players really came to the game around the tenth anniversary year with the Journey Across America, and the Fire Red/Leaf Green releases. That was the rebirth of Pokemon in my eyes. Since then all the new guys have aged into Masters. Pokemon anime isn't as big as it used to be, so I think not as many kids are exposed to the whole world of Pkmn.
