So far Chris had managed to even the odds with Gyarados, just maybe if he could keep this up he could hopefully pull off a victory.
"Go, Flygon." Vega tossed out his next pokemon.
Then something went horribly wrong..All of a sudden for no obvious reason, Gyarados' emotions reached a fevered pitch, and it began flailing around wildly, and firing off beams like a rabid mutt. The crowd began screaming,and running as Gyarados hidden power sturred up a mighty storm. It was all Chris could do to withstand the stormy gusts, and the tempestuous waters.
"Grr! NO! GYARADOS NO!!" Chris yelled out. The leviathan had indeed turned into a killing machine, and he did not want a repeat of what happened last time..his mind was still riddled with horrific images of a town that his Gyarados had completely decimated,a nd he could clearly see tthe people still running about in agaony..
But the beast was't listening to him, with his bloodlust fueled Gyarados turned it's bloodshot eyes onto its opponent...Vega's Flygon..
"Flygon Dragon Claw!"
The dragon charged at Gyarados only to be repelled by the wind, and waves.
Gyarados' red scaly body was now surrounded by a red aura in itself. Chris knew this was serious, and something had to be done. Vega made another attempt to take out the pokemon.
"Try a Hyper Beam!"
Flygon obeyed, opened its mouth, and released a powerful blast of energy a huge light shined brightly, but when the light cleared all the attack had served to do was anger Gyarados.
"Return! Now!" he tried to recall the disobedient pokemon, but it dodged the beams before going hrough a formation that was all to familiar.
A large vortex touched touched down in the middle of the ring, causing a massive water cyclone.
"This is its Dragon Rage." Chris said through his gritted teeth trying with all his might to hold on to the podium.
WRAAAAAAAAAR!
"FLYGON, TRY A SANDSTORM!" Vega shouted at the top of his lungs, Flygon whipped up a cyclone of its own which began emitting a mist of thick sand, but only added more debris to the water spout.
Now the cyclone was immense, now swirling around Gyarados it was lashing both him, Vega ,and the crowd with wint, water, and gravel causing cuts on his cheecks, and face.
He looked over in time to see Gyarados swat Flygon out of the sky with its' tail, and down to the ground, and looked on in horror as it tried on hold it underwater.
Vega could see Flygon had already fainted, and hurriedly recalled it.
"Hurry!" the red beam struck Flygon moments before Gyarados' gigantic tail crushed the rock it had just been on.
Now the entire crowd was in a panic trying to escape Gyarados' blind fury.
"With the cyclone picking up I have no choice, Haaaah!"
Chris leapt into the air, and propeled himself toward the eye of the storm. Reaching the center his used a slight electrical pulse to weaken Gyarados ,and threw the Master Ball...It held!
"Whew,its over, and the crowd is safe" Chris thought. "They have no idea the danger they were really in."
Now the audience settled back into its seats, and continued to wonder if anything else as in store for them. Travis, and Jake manged to help Ramona, Rachel, and the others but where rejected on the basis that they were fine.
Vega managed to dig himself out of the remains of the podium.
Around them lay the broken wreckage of the podiums, scattered rocks, pieces of the arena were now submerged, and it was like an underwater labyrinth.
"Hey, Vega wanna keep going?" Chris challenged, making it seem as if the whole thing were staged.
Vega thought it out for a moment before declining.
"No according to the rules my Flygon fainted, so you win. but I appeal for a rematch. You accept?" he inquired.
Chris nodded,and looked toward the announcer.
*Judges have ruled, and the rematch will take place in 6 months so we can clean up the stadium. For now you both win, and recieve tickets for the fast ship S.S Aqua docked in Olivine City.*
Chris collapsed as the crowd cheered, and Vega looked at him knowingly, and Chris nodded back.
Amidst the cheering crowd both contenders stalked off toward the Recreation Hall, to recooperate after the preeceding events..

"Oh look at your pokemon!" Nurse Joy commented."They look as if they've been to hell, and back!"
Chris let out a little laugh. "I wouldn't say that, but they did have one hell of a battle." Travissaid.
"How long will it take until they are ready to fight again Nurse Joy?" Chris asked. Nurse Joy looked at her touch screen for a moment before responding."I would say they need to stay here overnight, then they will be able to be released in the morning ok?
Chris nodded grabbed his backpack, and walked down the hall, and out the doors he continued until he found himself in the stadium.
"I wonder.." He thought to himself." How will I do in the Hoenn Pokemion League."
He continued to stare at the night sky until he noticed something moving amidst the wreckage of the arena..
"The boss said he wanted to obtain the disc, but he didn't say were it was." The mysterious figure uttered.
"Yes he did, but he also said to be inconspicuous about it the XD Shadow Pokemon Project must go along as planned. We've already lost one of our earlier experiments to some punk."
Chris continued to listen to thier conversation.
"Which one.. Oh it was XD024, Shadow Gyarados with the Berserk Gene strain wasn't it?"
The other figure nodded in agreement.
"So far the Shadow Pokemon Project has been delayed twice, but now the higher-ups have gotten things back on track, and it is running even better than before." he said confidently.
"So the plot thickens." Chrris thought to himself.
"What about Cassandra, the daughter of the Silph Co. President?"
"What about her?"
"Isn't she of some importance to this plan?" One fo them asked a little puzzled.
"Not at this point no, but she will become more important in the future, there's an admin guarding her rather closely."
"Chris was listening so intently he didn't notice a chunk of rock fall with a loud splash.
"!!" Both figures quickly looked up, but luckily Chris managed to slip back into the shadows, unseen.
"What was that? Gino check it out." The other grunt ordered.
Gino relented, and ran up the stairs the sound had came from, but by the time he arrivd Chris had managed to stow away into the night.

Chris sat down in the Pokemon Center after his narrow escape a few hours before, and pondered what he had just heard.
"They mentioned a disk." Chris said to himself. He searched through his pack, until he found a strange-looking disk he had found in the stadium.
"Is this what they were talking about?" He thought.
He found a computer, inserted the disk, and tried to access the files on it.

"Damn! It's encoded." He cursed.
Trying another appraoch he accessed the main firewall on the computer, and upgraded, its encryption program.
"Hm, Ok thats better." Chris sighed.
Random figures, and integers flashed across the screen until he accessed the main board. He hacked into the data for a minute until he managed to decode the main passcode.
