Pokemon Ranger Supporter

I am uncertain about the use of Pokemon Ranger in certain circumstances. When card have effects that require you to discard energy from the pokemon if you play Pokemon Ranger prior to the attack is this effect negated and you don't discard the energy?

I am specifically asking about Zygarde EX Power Memory All Cells Burn attack if you need a specific example. Could you play Pokemon Ranger then All Cells Burn Attack and not have to discard energy. My son said he saw on Pokemon TCG another attack that someone did this.

If it does effect your attack that turn would this also change damage where it is written in text below attack like Zoroark's Mind Jack attack or other attacks that damage your bench your opponent's bench, could you use Pokemon Ranger to stop these effects.

It doesn't work like that.
It is unlikely that it what your son saw.
He might have seen someone play Pokemon Ranger and then for some other reason not have to discard energy cards for the attack.

Pokemon Ranger clears effects that are already present.
It is instantaneous.
The effect does not "hang around" and clear or stop any effect that would happen in the future.
