Garchomp LV.71 - Colorless - HP130
Stage 2 - Evolves from Gabite

Poke-Body: Dragon Awe
When this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon and is damaged by an opponent’s attack (even if this Pokemon’s HP is reduced to 0), return 1 Energy attached to the attacking Pokemon to your opponent’s hand.

[C][C] Guard Claw: 40 damage. During your opponent’s next turn, any damage damage done to Garchomp by attacks is reduced by 20.

[C][C][C] Speed Impact: 120 damage. This attack’s damage is reduced by 20 for each Energy attached to the Defending Pokemon.

Weakness: Colorless (+30)
Resistance: none
Retreat Cost: 0

So I'm basically looking at Speed Impact. 120 for 3 is good, but the effect is sub-par. Scratch that, it's nearly horrible. Against 3 energy Dialga G w/2 Sp. Metals it only does 40 damage. It needs too many energies to be a Donk deck w/o acceleration (Weavile SW anyone?), and its previous stages aren't so hot either. A good thing about this guy is that he's Colorless, which will help against Flygon X.

This set will be released after Worlds, so the format should either be GE-on or MD-on. I know that it's impossible to predict, but those are the two most common guesses.

With that in mind, I've set off to make this card useful. Could it be used in conjunction with cards like Azelf X and Espeon 4 BET to punish your opponents for playing too few or two many energies? Scizor MD could be used to punish Special energies. Considering how Upper Energy and SP Energy are coming out and will be widely used, it's pretty viable. How about something like Spinda POF with a Multi energy to discard your opponent's energies? Dialga G Lv.X could Remove Lost, but it would shut down Garchomp's Poke Body. Or perhaps hand disruption to prevent the opponent from playing energies?

Espeon 4 LV.55 - Psychic - HP80
Basic Pokemon (SP)

[C] Hypnosis: The Defending Pokemon is now Asleep.

[P][C] Psywave: Does 20 damage plus 10 damage for each Energy attached to the Defending Pokemon.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

Breloom LV.37 - Fighting - HP90
Stage 1 - Evolves from Shroomish

[F] Float Uppercut: 40 damage. Until the end of your next turn, the Pokemon that was hit by this attack has no retreat cost.

[C][C] Crush Bomber: 20 damage. If the Defending Pokemon has any Special Energy attached to it, this attack does an additional 40 damage. Then, discard 1 Special Energy attached to the Defending Pokemon.

Weakness: Fire (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat Cost: 1

Spinda LV.27 - Colorless - HP70
Basic Pokemon

[C] Synchro Remove: Discard 1 Energy from the Defending Pokemon that’s the same Type as an Energy attached to Spinda.

[C] Pulled Punch: 30 damage. If the Defending Pokemon already has damage counters on it, this attack’s base damage is 10.

Weakness: Fighting (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat Cost: 1

Lucario GL LV.32 - Fighting - HP80
Basic Pokemon (SP)

Poke-Body: Destroying Aura
Each player’s Pokemon takes x2 damage from its Weakness instead of the printed amount.

[M][C][C] Two Handed Throw: Does 30 damage plus 10 damage times the number of Energy attached to the Defending Pokemon.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

Above are some translations from Pokebeach of possible cards that could work with Garchomp. Anyways, the purpose of this thread is to ask what Garchomp could be used with and if it would be a viable deck in the next format.

Discuss!
