Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Poverty, Famine, War... Your take. Right or Wrong?

People will always fight. You can lessen the fighting, but there will always be a war going on somewhere. And people will figure out how to endure and survive. Or not. You can't ever get rid of war, eliminate poverty, end world hunger, stop the spread of every disease, or give everybody an equal chance at success. The best you can do is to come very close, but at a certain point it's futile.

I don't think the world needs war, poverty, or famine to "cleanse" itself and survive. Giving aid to poor countries will not cause everybody to die. Mankind seem to be figuring out ways to create sustainable resources and ensuring our own existence. Necessity will force us to deal with certain problems, but I don't think that we will ever completely solve them. As long as human beings remain human beings, there will always be oppression and violence. Maybe scientists will figure out a way to alter our brains so we aren't violent, but that opens up a whole other debate.

Dear Crosplat, perhaps that lifestyle makes sense for them due to the fact that they were raised in a completely different way in contrast to you. All men are raised no where near equal. Let's do away with the biased republican bigot views.

Dear Maxwell,

You have just stereotyped and insulted me without knowing anything about me whatsoever because you disagree with my viewpoint.

Congratulations oh enlightened one, you have just failed. Go give yourself a pat on the back for the successful use of an ad hominem attack!

Do you have any idea what both of my parents went through? Ever thought that maybe there was a chance "that they were raised in a completely different way in contrast to me [or you]?" Nah, probably not. That's not possible. Try this one out you biased, ignorant liberal (Look at me, I can use logical fallacies too! This must make me smart:lol:), my mom comes from a poor family in Lebanon.

Heard of it? It's one of those thrashed, war torn middle eastern states that has a non functioning government and went through a civil war a 20 years ago. Yeah, getting the side of your apartment blown up by an RPG, having to sit up on the roof with an M-16 and grenades to make sure the people from the neighboring village don't kill you for your water, and getting shot at in your school bus by "freedom fighters" definitely means your views on the matter are "biased" and "bigoted." That is, if biased and bigoted mean realistic. FYI bro, she believes exactly what I do because she has seen exactly what your fellow humans will try to do when given the opportunity.

As for my dad, while his isn't as dramatic, it's a little closer to home. Basically, he grew up in a dirt poor immigrant family right on the edge of Harlem during the 60s. We're not talking the best recipe for success here, but he worked insanely hard, got scholarships, and became successful.

Based on my parents, I acknowledge that people are not raised equal or given equal opportunities, but refute that it should be used as an excuse for their conduct. You are responsible for your own destiny, and there are success stories if you are willing to look for them. As for the people who don't achieve the same level of success, statistically there always has to be a bottom 5%. You can't ever change that, you just have to try to make sure they get an equal shot. Giving people the tools to create a stable government in the region, giving food aid, and educating them is the best you can hope for. If you then fail, all that you can do is wait for it to settle down on its own. It eventually will, and then you can try to help again. If a war breaks out again, then repeat the process. You can't ever end all wars, but you can lessen there impact.

Sincerely,

Crosplat
P.S. PM PokemansForGeeks if you feel the need to rant against me. I am sure he will understand.

Right, since you're an American whose mom is from a third world country you must have the most "realistic" OPINION when it comes to this subject. It's ironic that you tell me to rant against you in a PM to PokemansForGeeks since I left you three sentences and you responded with four paragraphs.

No ranting here ;/

I won't lie, the election brought out the worst in me and I see no reason to talk real-life issues on a pokemon message board when I can do that in real life (although I never do) haha
