Prom

Not if he has real drills!

I can see it now.

News anchor: Last night at a Texas prom, seventeen teenagers were killed by a young man apparently know as "that beedrill g guy." He was dressed as a popular bakugon, beedrill, who has long spikes for hands. The killer murdered the teens with these spikes, all the while screaming "DONKED! DONKED!" When asked for a comment, he yelled "I AM FUELED BY REDBULL AND YOUR BROKEN DREAMS!"

:lol::lol: Occasionally, self publicity is good.

THanks, Chase.

Edit: Was that srsly a Red Bull joke from my old sig?

Why bother bring a dress or a tux? I had no interest to go to prom... until I was offered money to go. I am going in a normal t-shirt and jeans... but with duct tape all over. I am making myself an entire suit out of duct tape. I will be able to win a large scholarship for doing so... much better than bringing a petty date that will only lead to pointless drama to a place with smelly high schoolers wiggling in a tightly enclosed space. You can expect me to go to compete, but end up hanging in my school's janitorial office playing board games with the intelligent students (who are doing the exact same thing as me).

The concept of high school relationships is absurd to be honest. Very few of these relationships ever go anywhere, and usually end up in drama. Moreover, the amount of money spent on dances is absurd. In any normal culture, spending a large amount of money for an outfit that one will only wear once and on a person one will barely care for in the future would be considered insane. Even so, high schoolers think that this is much more important than it is. Don't go unless you have a darned good reason to go (like me :D).

1:Are you bragging about having no social life?
2:Drama is a part of life which can bring people together, and tear people apart. It's inevetible.

I have a very strong social life. I have friends who happen to be girls and boys. Drama is inevitable, but avoiding it at much as possible is the way to go. Especially in such a well-knit group of people. Rumors spread at my school like the common cold. When person A breaks up with person B, everybody knows about it. This may be different for other people, but I doubt it will be so.

Now then, experimenting and learning experiences are just fine. I would not advocate dating anyone seriously while still in highschool. Going places with friends who happen to be of the opposite gender is fantastic, but once pictures or knowledge of you kissing another person of the opposite gender go out, there are going to be serious reprocutions later on in life. Just not worth the trouble.

I think the 'serious reprocutions' have more to do with how you react than what you do.

If you and your partner both act with maturity and class then 90% of your problems are irrelevant.

And besides, what's the worst that can happen, assuming that you are behaving as a teenager should (I hope I don't need to explain myself there -_-)? "Serious repercussions"? Losing your high school popularity and status is hardly anything life-threatening...

I have yet to meet anyone who takes high school the way I think it 'should' be taken (I sure didn't). You can't take it too seriously, but you have to take it seriously enough. You have to look at it not as some social status or world but as a chance to experiment with people and yourself (within reason). Social events are part of that experimentation.

'course i doubt anyone would ever think of it that way consciously, actually...

Oh Prom...

Just ahd mine last Saturday, went with my girlfriend, had a good time, then she broke up with me on Tuesday. Yay!...

Anyways, Prom is just a time to have fun with your friends. You can make it as fun or as boring as you want. Ultimately it is up to how much money you want to spend. If you are going, just make sure to have a good time.

I went to prom in my junior and senior years in high school, going "stag" both times. Still, lots of my friends were there, and there were enough "slow dances" to keep me interested (as opposed to homecoming, which was nothing but un-danceable rap). In my junior year, I also ran for prom royalty, and was first-runner-up. I was glad to be popular and liked at the school for being myself. You don't have to be mean or artificial in order for people to like you in high school. And nerds need not be unpopular or disliked.

I did not carry any high-school relationships either, since back then (and even now, 7 years later), "friendship" to me is what other people would probably call "acquaintanceship."
