Pulse barrier question

ok So i have a Claydoll on my bench that has an unknown g attatched. My opponent has an Electavire Lv X and uses Pulse Barrier which discards all stadiums and pokemon tools in play. Uknown G prevents effects of the attack. Does unknown G prevent the attack or does it get discarded?

Unknown G prevents it. You would still be able to discard others that are not unknown G.

r u sure because if you read the card it is appilying to the pokemon tool on the pokemon

Yet Unown G prevents it.

He could still discard any other Tools or Stadiums, but Unown G is protected. 50 damage is still done, but you don't get to discard or get the invincibility effect

Is discarding a tool an effect of Vire's attack? Yes.
Does Unown G block effects of attacks? Yes.
Is unown G discarded by the attack then? No, Unown G blocks the effect.

The only way to get rid of Unown G is:
a) knock out the pokemon it's attached to using real damage.
b) use a power that removes tools - Hippowdon lv. X is currently the only card in format that will do this.
c) use a trainer that removes tools - none currently in format, though Windstorm is an example of an older trainer that would have worked.
