Blaziken FB Lv. X with Blaziken PL......and Heatran Lv. X....interesting but the weakness may be too much..

That is why you combine Blaziken FB LvX, Blaziken PL and Turtwig GL (from Bonds...). There is no reason to add Heathran, we already get +40 for the burn so getting the burn damage guaranteed is being greedy (and there is the Dialga problem). Yes, it would be nice to use Blaziken's big attack every time, but I think you can do with less.

Turtwig is a decent 90HP basic with water resistance that always heals itself no matter how much damage it has. 3-3-3 Blaziken PL (feel free to use RC), 2-2 Blaziken FB and 3 Turtwig is only 16 Pokemon so there is room for Uxie or whatever utility Pokemon takes your fancy. You can even play Dialga G Lvx since your body is SP.

Your opponent will typically face a Blaziken that does 80 for 2 or 140 for 3, both with burn added. Unless you are a water deck that has to do 110 to OHKO or see Turtwig heals itself when it does 70+. to you.

Garchomp lv. X with Alakazam lv. X seems like a no-brainer combo to me-- swap damage from some big SP tank like Dialga G lv. X, keeping it alive and attacking, and then when the bench is loaded with counters on everything, Warp a Garchomp in, level up, and get rid of all of it.

I also love the regular, stage 2 Garchomp as well as Blaziken lv. X, even if Dialga G lv. X does take the luster out of both a bit. The ability for the latter to do 120 for 1 energy is crazy.

To everyone who keeps saying how this set doesn't impress them: All you've seen is about 1/4 of it. Wait around.

That's a good reason to use Turtwig GL, assuming water stays popular. Kudos, that's not a bad idea at all:thumb:

Electivire and Leafeon is going to be come an archtype. Seriously, attaching 5 energy every other turn, is astounding.

I dislike PCL now. They chose Staraptor over Empoleon for the Butler's Lv.X, even though Empoleon was the only one to be on both his teams. Oh well I can only hope...

I'm going to disagree, only because using Electivire's power ends your turn, thus giving your opponent a turn to respond to your super-energy attachment before you can actually use it. Of course I could be totally wrong, and kudos to anyone who can make Electivire work good, but I honestly can't remember any pokemon who have had this same effect doing good.

I have never seen Blastoise SW do well, or Swampert ex (CG) for that matter. Although I hated Elekid from Neo Genesis.....darn baby power..

Notice how I said, every other turn. I've already started to plan the deck out, only it will be hard if the format removes Claydol.

On the plus side, we get another Claydol that isn't overly cheap.

This seals it. SP decks are going to rule next format. And GE is indeed going out, if they do change the format, so UxieX is probably going to be the better engine. Though I'd combo Uxie and Staraptor.

Champion Hall also adds yet another stadium you need to waste hours on thinking about which to put in your deck. Snowpoint, TGHQ, Contest Hall, and Champion Hall.

Did somebody else realize that the new Electivire is crappy, since the X wastes your attack with it's power?

Actually Great Encounters (GE) is rotating out this coming August after Worlds 2009 along with Secret Wonders (SW), Mysterious Treasures (MT), and EX Diamond & Pearl.

Btw what does "SP" stand for anyway? I was kinda disappointed to see Charizard become an SP Pokemon which means that it has to level-up from it's regular Stage 2 SP Charizard. I'm kinda starting to see why some people don't like SP Pokemon, especially since you can't have a regular Pokemon evolve or level-up into it's SP version.

I still want to see a good Celebi get printed for Modified, the last one was crappy no offense. Oh and whoever said Staraptor X is gonna be the new Claydol for Modified you're dead wrong, it's Uxie cause face it unless you have it out as a Starter Set Up can really get you going and it's Lv. X is solid to boot but it's a pain to get ahold of, at least for me it is.

Lets See I can play Uxie and I get to draw two cards a turn and keep one of them and hope I get the card I need, or I can search my deck for the Supporter that will get me the exact card that I need. Consistancy is what makes one card supperior to annother. Claydoll is better then Uxie, X because it had more drawing power. Claydoll is Stevens Advice and Uxie X is Moms Kindness. Trust me just like we now see Claydoll in most every deck, next year Staraptor X will be in almost every deck. And as it is colorless it will be an even easier tech to fit in then Claydoll.

Oh, don't worry.

I have never failed on any Electivire decks and they are extremely good.

Umm Diamond and Pearl is NOT an EX set, and there is no confirmation about which sets are going to be rotated out.

Ummm, yeah, not exactly the most poetic way to put it, but certainly apt. Back on topic people.

Electivire is good. Just don't use it's power often unless you need to. The basic has amazing draw power and with energy gain, as much as it hurts the deck and a lot of other good cards taht can get energy out of the discard can get you attacking T2 doing at least 60. Also it should be a really good deck to set up due to dump and draw.
