I was thinking a little bit on the weekend and came up with this deck:
4x Ledyba d
4x Ledian d
4x Wooper d
4x Quagsire d
4x Budew
20 Pokemon
4x Strength Charm
4x Buffer Piece
4x Celio
2x Mentor
2x Mr. Stone
2x Scott
2/4x Something
2/4x Something
2/4x Something
16 Trainers
8x Grass NRG
4x Basic Metal NRG
2x Delta RE
2x Scramble NRG
16 NRG
I haven't thought of a full trainer line yet and all ideas will be graciously accepted.
Main cards and what part they play:
Quagsire:
Quagsire is the main attacker in the deck. At first glance he doesn't look very powerful but if you attach one Strength Charm to him his Pump Out attack knocks 80 damage onto the defending Pokemon, enough to OHKO anything.
His power, Dig Up, supports the deck. It allows you to pull 2 Pokemon Tools from your discard pile and put them into your hand when you evolve into Quagsire. Obviously, you then put them on to Quaggy to dish out 70-80 damage a turn.
Ledian:
Ledian is a great support for Quagsire. When you evolve Ledyba into Ledian, you can use Ledian's power, Prowl, to search your deck for any card you want. This attack is very versatile and can be used in most decks.
When you have 2 NRG on Ledian you can attach a Pokemon tool to it and use Metal Star. When you have a Pokemon tool attached and use Metal Star you can draw three cards. This allows you to thin your deck a bit and possibly draw another Pokemon Tool.
Starter Pokemon:
Budew:
Budew is seriously underrated at my league and nobody plays with it. I think differently.
Because "Trainers" included Supporters and Stadium cards in the EX sets, Budew's attack allows you to get ANY Trainer. If it is DP-onwards it only includes cards with "Trainer" in the top left corner but I have absolutely no DP Supporters in this deck.
This allows you to pull Mentors and Celios for free, and the NRG you would use to power Budew you can use to power a benched Wooper or Ledyba.
By now you would have figured out the concept of the deck. This is a mock battle which I made:
T1: Active: Budew
T1: Bench: Wooper and Ledyba
Attach: Grass to Wooper
Attack: Pull Celio.
T2: Active: Budew
T2: Bench: 2 Wooper and 2 Ledyba
Supporter: Celio for Ledian
Power: Prowl for Str Charm
Attach: Grass to Wooper
Attack: Pull Celio.
T3: Active: Wooper
T3: Bench: Ledian, Wooper and Ledyba
Supporter: Celio for Quagsire
Attach: Grass to Quagsire
Attach: Strength Charm
Attack: Pump Out for 80.
Rinse and repeat.
Using Holon Mentor in this deck:
When you play Holon Mentor you should discard a Pokemon Tool if possible. You can get it back with Dig Up. This way you won't waste Quagsire's beaut power.
The deck has no Pokemon with health above 100 so I am thinking about adding another pokemon like Nidoqueen 2-2-2. Please give your opinions on this.
I appreciate any suggestions and I DO need some more Pokemon Tools so please recommend something. Don't say Cess Crystal. It shuts the whole deck down.
Thank you very much.
