Question about Regigigas DP40 and Metal Arceus.

Hi, here's the situation me and my friend are going through. I play Regigigas, and he plays Arceus.
The Metal Arceus' attack, Metal Barrier, states "Prevent all effects of attack, including damage, done to Arceus by your opponent's Lv. X Pokemon during your opponents next turn".
Regigigas' attack, Drag Off, says that "Before doing damage, you may choose 1 of your opponent's Benched Pokémon and switch it with 1 of the Defending Pokémon."
If his active Arcues uses Metal Barrier, can I use Drag Off and target/switch/damage one of his bench pokemon?

Yes. As ruled last year, while the Defending Pokemon is protected against effects, the target of the effect (one of the benched Pokemon) is not, and so the switch can be made.
