Question About Restored Pokemon

Okay. From what was understood about putting down "Restored Pokemon" on the bench was that if you use the trainer cards for them. (Plume Fossil for Archen and Cover Fossil for Tirtouga.) Now, I was reading the little pamphlet that comes in the Noble Victories Theme Decks. "What's new in the Pokemon Trading Card Game: Black and White - Noble Victories Expansion?"

On the first bullet of the explanation of Restored Pokemon it reads...

"If you have a Restored Pokemon in your hand, you must play the Item card that allows you to play the Restored Pokemon."

Now, we read Plume/Cover Fossil

"Look at the bottom 7 cards of your deck. You may reveal an Archen (a Tirtouga) you find there and put it on your bench. Shuffle the other cards into the deck."

Here are my series of questions...

Is this true or a typo on Pokemon?

If so, if you have an Archen or Tirtouga in your hand, then do you play Plume fossil or Cover fossil (respectively), Do you have a choice in whether to reveal from your hand, or do you have to go through the motion of Plume and Cover fossil?

If you choose to go through your hand, then do you have to shuffle?
