Quotes in signatures are banned?

I tried editing my sig and got this message:

Maybe it's a recent change, but it doesn't filter out the existing bbcode tags?

I suspect it was something that the program interpreted as coding. I came upon that once accidentally.

I should turn the quotes in my sig into actual quote-tagged quotes... but then my sig'd just be that much spammier.
