Rare Candy on Stage 1 Fossils

With the Tyrantrum line in Forbidden Light, it is possible to Rare Candy an Unidentified Fossil into the Stage 2 Tyrantrum (FLI 69).

However, is it legal to Rare Candy into the older Tyrantrum (FFI 62), which is a Stage 1?

Last I checked (this ruling) evolution rules went by the name and not necessarily the Stage, and so there exists a valid evolution chain (Unidentified Fossil --> Tyrunt (FLI 68) --> Tyrantrum (FFI 62)...but Rare Candy now specifically only allows a Stage 2 card to be played with its effect.

(Same would apply to the Aurorus line and future fossils that had their fully evolved form printed as a Stage 1 in the BW-XY era.)

No. The Stage matters.
Normal Evolution goes by the name, but this is not normal.
Even though they have the same name, they are different Stage cards and so work differently regarding Rare Candy.
