Recommended DS Multiplayer games

Howdy folks!

My girlfriend is coming out with me to Worlds and I was thinking we should get a new DS game(s) that we could play together on the plane trips to and from (I'm from Ohio, and we both have DSes).

Right now I have MarioKart, New Super Mario Bros, and Bomberman Touch. All of these have great single cart multiplayer fun.

Does anyone have games to recommend for purchase? Single cart would be preferred, but multi-cart games that are amazing will be considered.
 
I would recommend the following:
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Advance Wars Dual Strike
Clubhouse Games
Diddy Kong Racing
Tetris DS

I'll probably edit this post with more games soon.
 
Mario Party works off one cart and can get up to 4 players, if I recall. Always a fun lil game.

I really like Jump Ultimate Stars. It's kind of like Smash Bros. with manga characters like Naruto, Goku, etc., along with a few that never really saw much action in the USA. The only real downside is that you have to import it. The Japanese is pretty easy to work around since it's a fighting game.
 
If you could find it get Tetris DS. It is amazing. Though in the US it'll cost $45 used at Gamestop. Though as soon as they get one it is gone within an hour. Also if you want it avoid ebay as most of them on there are fake. Since it is a puzzle game you could get it in Japanese. I have also heard stories of it still being available in retail stores in Canada.

Well in one way yes, BUT the game uses a special battle system. It is not where you choose who you want and play. I have the orignal. Though I have to admit that the game is amazing and since it is popular there are plenty of guides on gamefaqs.

Does she favor a certain genre of games over others such as puzzle games are better than RPGs?

Great post idea, btw. I'm going to take notes as I'm flying with my son and this could be handy! Hey, if we end up on the same flight we can 4 way battle. :)
 
Mario Hoops 3 on 3 has the best multiplayer mode I have EVER seen on the DS. If you play single cart there is this cool battle mode where you get to battle with the games characters with green shells, power stars, bombs, bananas, etc. Look around the internet to see if you can find a video of it, it is extremely cool. The basketball single player mode is also very fun.
