Red/Green Quick Starter Set Value?

Hello I am new to this form and to collecting Pokemon in general. I used to collect when Pokemon first started out in America but have stopped since about 2001, since it was no longer "cool"... I grew up since then and started collecting again for a nostalgic feeling. Anyway I recently came across a sealed Japanese Red/Green quick start set in my garage that my father kept away from me as a child. I was wondering if anyone could give me an estimate on the value of this set. Thanks in advance.

There is a listing for one on ebay right now, look it up and keep an eye on how much it goes for. That should give you an idea of what the current value is.
 
I seen that too but it has been on there for a while. I don't think anyone will actually pay that $600 for it, thats why I was wondering what some collectors who are more knowledgeable about these would price it at.
 
I meant the one listed more recently, it has a starting bid of $10 and will end in about 5 days. I'm under the impression that linking to ebay is discouraged on the 'gym, which is why I'm not just posting the link myself. It's a good opportunity to get an up to date idea of the value, seeing as they aren't sold very often.
 
A few years ago, I was telling one of the Creatures guys about how much these were worth in the US and he said, surprised, "I have a garage full of them!"
