Hey there Pokegym !

I have been playtesting alot Gigas and I was seriously wondering what to play between: Regice or Lunatone. I have noted the Pro's of each here :

Pro's Regice:
Discard two card
Have an effect that can be sometimes good while discarding
90 HP

Pro's Lunatone:
One retreat Cost
Can discard a stadium for one energy

Said like this, Regice take the advantage, although I think Lunatone is really good because of Palkia Lv.X. If your opponent choose to put Regice in front, you NEED a switch. With Lunatone, it's different in the way you will be able to retreat. Why not sacrifice Regice then ? Ah, well because you need to sacrifice your Uxies so you can TSD them back and draw !

What do you think ?
 
This doesn't go in deck help and strategy, i think, you need a full 60 list in this forum, put this in card combos and stratedgy, if im wrong, mods can delete this.

Regidoesnt work too well, lunatone can help more, you HAVE to discard 2 and lunatone only need 1, regiice start is bad but you can sort of live with lunatone start, but gengars can 1 shot lunatons also.

Regi is soooooo much better
it sends basics to the bench for a Gigaton Punch
It lets you discard 2 so that you can wait till T2 to get it out and still get a gigablaster
For a giga blaster T1 you would need to have both a lunatone and an extra energy in your opening hand

I won 2 cities with it
 
Try Regirock ! to discard cards throw in some energy switch to switch energy to gigas Lv. X to set up faster- good luck hope i helped:)
 
I personally like Lunatone for the sole fact that it still discards while not being overkill, it is hard to get 2 energy to discard sometimes for Regice, while Regice does help with discarding in the beginning
 
Lunatone. He's a good start (20, then retreat for gigas and gigaton=at least 80=ko pretty much any basic), has a good attack (great attack and can win a game mid game, espically against mirror that play snowpoint), and has a managable retreat (2>>1). Against gengar, he's going to die t2 anyways, so does it matter? No. Ice's effect will almost never be useful, and can even be costly (baltoy start, ect.). Discarding 2 cards is almost never good. I don't think you'll ever have a situation where you can discard 2 energy from your hand, so you're losing a useful card. Lunatone can also be grabbed t1 and used twice for the same effect ice does (minus the possible hurtful gust effect).
 
Yeah retreat because palkia is a really good card as it kos there main threat like sceptile or claydol. And if you dont want to scrafice then you can just retreat. And it discards dusknoir level x :).
 
i would go with lunatone just because it has 1 retreat so it's easier to get outa there (and if you start with it you can still get T2 gigas) and it's attack is pretty good VS. dusknoir and stuff.
 
Thanks ! As most said, I think I will try Lunatone, only for his retreat. Regice is not needed mid-game, while Lunatone can be usefull.

Although, I'm sure discard 2 IS good for a T2 Giga Blaster when you didn,t had Gigas T1.
