Regigigas Lock; It Ain't Dead Yet

Engineers can discard holon magikarp since its an energy :p

e:/ Wrong thread, damned xD

The general's got it :D

Though I heavily HEAVILY prefer felicity's for getting rid of all my crap cards, Engineers lets me get rid of all my energy that I run an over abundance of (which will be vital in the next format without Roseanne's). Paired with Regice the engine should work fine.

The biggest issue is going to be losing Azelf against Sp and Unown G against Machamp. I'm running through a lot of ideas and it won't be impossible. Just gonna hafta wait and see what happens :3

Expect an article on the NEW Gigas later in the season <3

He's talking about the MT Azelf with downer material.

Thanks, lol. I am indeed meaning MT Azelf with Downer Material. Without that to slow down Sp, things get interesting. The big debate now is going to be can Sp stay in the format without Unown G to counter champ. With only Toxicroak G/ skuntank as a counter, Sp MAY (not saying WILL) be deterred...

BTW, I got third at a BR with a regigigas deck similar to yours, and I'm going to play a slightly more modified version today. Wish me luck!

I have to say, the first time I looked at this deck, I was terrified at the idea of it, mostly because of sacrifice and the high energy cost.

But now, every time I look at it, I just keep on wanting to build it more and more. It looks amazing to me now, especially the power lock. I think I'm going to be trying it out pretty soon:thumb:

I really wish I could take my list to Nats this year but sadly it'll have to wait a season and hopefully when that time comes it won't be to overpowered by things like gengar prime...

Good luck in your tourney alien; sure you'll do fine with it lol.

Only Regigigas was TOTALLY the wrong play at that tournament. I beat a PLOX and a freaking DONPHAN/ENTEI/RAIKOU LEGEND DECK, and failed to cut because my last match was Jim Roll playing Machamp+Relicanth+Entei/Raikou Legend, which is not only broken, but the absolute worst matchup for me. I played my list without claydol, with Water Arceus, 16 Energy, and Dialga G. I did well when I won, but nothing could stop all those bad matchups. I could argue that none of my matchups were particularly in my favor. :(

So I've been playing a post-rotation version of this deck (No Claydol, Flecities, or AMU) and drawing seems to be a little bit slower than it would be with Felecitiy. I find it slightly difficult to grab energy cards from the deck with my main drawing power, Engineer's Adjustment, unusable without energy to begin with. How should I get around this problem?

Play Azelf and Uxie (with X) and Mesprit, still. only thing dropping is Azelf MT, which makes the SP matchup a bit tougher, but it should be possible to win anyway.

You may try Bronzong SF as a M2 counter and as a makeshift Roseanne for post-rotation version. Or just ditch Engineers altogether and go for something more consistent... or you could try Cyrus + Engineer combo.

Oh yeah, I got 6th in my Nats with Gigas, losing to Kingdra-Machamp in top cut (wasn't playing G).

I am still playing the pixies, just minus 1 azelf, leaving a single LA Azelf.

Bronzong makes sense as a makeshift roseanne, but I would need to tech in a few psychic energy for it to be a proper mewtwo counter, which I would rather not do honestly. Plus, it's an evolution, so I'd probably have to up the Pokemon Communication count to get it out consistently, plus it makes more clutter on my bench, which I already have a problem doing in this deck (I never was all that fond of Uxie:tongue:)

It could definately work, I'm just not sure how often it could be pulled off.

Any other help would be great. I'm going to definately play this deck post-rotation, probably for the entire season, but I really need help getting it off the ground. Thanks

I like to see people trying out ideas like my end :3

Anyone, my list still runs 15 energy atm and don't see that changing. With that high a number and Uxie as a main draw, energy isn't really a problem so Bronzong isn't really necessary. Does bring back memories of my original lists though for t2 giga blasting fun.
The big issues atm are going to be champ and gengar. I'll pry be playing a psychic/sp style with the mesprit lock, dialga G for Mewtwo/Vileplume and Toxitank for Champ. We'll see how it goes though...
Other ideas include just stripping my current list down and inserting other cards to see how it goes...

I'm kind of biding my time atm until the actual end of the season and will probably do what i did THIS year: Bide my time sweeping Battleroads with Giratina, then break out the big guns for the rest of the season.

I will let everyone know though that Gengar prime destroys you simply because sacrifice counts towards Genagrs Lost Zone body...

I'm running 16 energy (+1 DCE) and I'm still having a little bit of trouble drawing energy.

Also, I just don't see Gengar Prime Knocking you out, unless it's knocking out your pixies or something. Dialga G to counter it's body, and Drag Off Gigas to throw him out of the active spot anyway. You're going to be faster being an all basic deck, you can easily get a 2HKO on it while it cannot do the same(unless you don't have an expert belt, than it may be 3HKO due to his resistance)

So yeah, I'm honestly not all that worried about Gengar Prime vs Regigigas. Honestly, I'm more worried about it being combined with Gengar Lv.X, because it may then Cursed Drop then Compound Pain. Now that is something to be afraid of.

Working backwards...

For those currently unaware...Spread is DEATH to Gigas...My honest recommendation is to play snowpoint temple. I'm actually working in room for 2 in my build. It protects your fairies by 10 from Garchomp/ERL (they can drop bats all they want, but they'll theoretically be locked so IDC). I'm also debating a couple Bench Shields...
I am BANKING on the same theory...I plan to keep my 1-1 (possibly upping to 2-1) Dialga G line to counter things like spiritomb/vileplume and HOPEFULLY Gengar Prime. My biggest worry is level down on Dialga. Yeah they should be locked, but if the lock breaks for some reason I can see it being LETHAL.
Now onto ur first paragraph...

Gengar (Prime) – Psychic – HP130
Stage 2 – Evolves from Haunter

Poke-Body: Catastrophe
As long as this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, if an opponent’s Pokemon is Knocked Out, that Pokemon is placed in the Lost Zone. (All cards other than Pokemon cards are discarded.)

[P] Plunge Into Darkness: Look at your opponent’s hand, choose a number of Pokemon up to the number of Psychic Energy attached to this Pokemon, and place them in the Lost Zone.
[P][C] Cursed Droplets: Place 4 damage counters on your opponent’s Pokemon in any way you like.

Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: Colorless (-20)
Retreat: 0

Now...to explain let me bring in Gigas's Sacrifice Pokepower...

'Sacrifice: Once during your turn,(before you attack) you may choose one of your pokemon in play and that Pokemon is KNOCKED OUT. Then search your discard pile for up to 2 basic energy cards and attach them to Regigigas, and remove 8 damage counters from regigigas. This power can't be used if Regigigas is affected by a special condition.'

I'm not worried about gengar doing ANYTHING to you except sitting there in the active spot looking pretty while you sacrifice your own pokemon into the lost zone because of catastrophe's wording...

All the same, I'm really rooting for the big guy next season. It'll be one hella tough road, but with the right tuning, I'm sure it can be done. Gigas isn't gone by a long shot.

I know what the concern is for Gengar, and trust me, I see myself getting stomped on all over, but like I said, with Drag Off, Dialaga G, and Warp Points, it shouldn't be insansely difficult to get him moved out.

Honestly though, I'm not the best player, but I'm going to pick up Regigigas for the entire season, so I'll need all the help I can get.

Hey, I found a couple of cards that I think could be helpful, but I'd like to ask what you guys think. BTW, these are all stadium cards.

Pokémon Contest Hall - Once during each player's turn, if that player's Bench isn't full, the player may flip a coin. If heads, that player searches his or her deck for a Basic Pokémon and puts it onto his or her Bench. If the player does, he or she may search his or her deck for a Pokémon Tool card and attach it to that Pokémon. If that player searched his or her deck, the player shuffles his or her deck afterward.

Use it to get out a Gigas and attach an Expert Belt to it. Helps thin the deck, get Gigas into play, and saves room for collector to get other pokemon.

Battle Tower - Whenever any player plays any Pokémon from his or her hand to Level-Up 1 of his or her Pokémon, remove 4 damage counters from that Pokémon.

Honestly, I'm not set on this one, but it looked useful to use with Gigas Lv.X, maybe save sacrificing for one turn.

Burned Tower (Reviving Legends 78, not yet released in english) -
Each player may flip a coin. If heads, that player may search his or her deck for a basic Energy card, show it to his or her opponent, and put it into his or her hand.

Helps get your energy out of the deck (something I have trouble with) so you can discard it or attach, very useful.

Let me know what you guys think

Out of all your stadium choices, Contest hall is technically the best but I still don't prefer it because you can't guarantee the ability to get it out in the first couple of turns and then when you do you stiill have to flip for it.

Honestly the stadium you're going to NEED next season is going to be Snowpoint temple to get around all the idiots playing Entei/Raikou Legend... -_-'

From the new scans I personally like Junk Arm, Twins and possibly electrode prime.
