Working backwards...
For those currently unaware...Spread is DEATH to Gigas...My honest recommendation is to play snowpoint temple. I'm actually working in room for 2 in my build. It protects your fairies by 10 from Garchomp/ERL (they can drop bats all they want, but they'll theoretically be locked so IDC). I'm also debating a couple Bench Shields...
I am BANKING on the same theory...I plan to keep my 1-1 (possibly upping to 2-1) Dialga G line to counter things like spiritomb/vileplume and HOPEFULLY Gengar Prime. My biggest worry is level down on Dialga. Yeah they should be locked, but if the lock breaks for some reason I can see it being LETHAL.
Now onto ur first paragraph...
Gengar (Prime) – Psychic – HP130
Stage 2 – Evolves from Haunter
Poke-Body: Catastrophe
As long as this Pokemon is your Active Pokemon, if an opponent’s Pokemon is Knocked Out, that Pokemon is placed in the Lost Zone. (All cards other than Pokemon cards are discarded.)
[P] Plunge Into Darkness: Look at your opponent’s hand, choose a number of Pokemon up to the number of Psychic Energy attached to this Pokemon, and place them in the Lost Zone.
[P][C] Cursed Droplets: Place 4 damage counters on your opponent’s Pokemon in any way you like.
Weakness: Darkness (x2)
Resistance: Colorless (-20)
Retreat: 0
Now...to explain let me bring in Gigas's Sacrifice Pokepower...
'Sacrifice: Once during your turn,(before you attack) you may choose one of your pokemon in play and that Pokemon is KNOCKED OUT. Then search your discard pile for up to 2 basic energy cards and attach them to Regigigas, and remove 8 damage counters from regigigas. This power can't be used if Regigigas is affected by a special condition.'
I'm not worried about gengar doing ANYTHING to you except sitting there in the active spot looking pretty while you sacrifice your own pokemon into the lost zone because of catastrophe's wording...
All the same, I'm really rooting for the big guy next season. It'll be one hella tough road, but with the right tuning, I'm sure it can be done. Gigas isn't gone by a long shot.
I know what the concern is for Gengar, and trust me, I see myself getting stomped on all over, but like I said, with Drag Off, Dialaga G, and Warp Points, it shouldn't be insansely difficult to get him moved out.
Honestly though, I'm not the best player, but I'm going to pick up Regigigas for the entire season, so I'll need all the help I can get.
Hey, I found a couple of cards that I think could be helpful, but I'd like to ask what you guys think. BTW, these are all stadium cards.
Pokémon Contest Hall - Once during each player's turn, if that player's Bench isn't full, the player may flip a coin. If heads, that player searches his or her deck for a Basic Pokémon and puts it onto his or her Bench. If the player does, he or she may search his or her deck for a Pokémon Tool card and attach it to that Pokémon. If that player searched his or her deck, the player shuffles his or her deck afterward.
Use it to get out a Gigas and attach an Expert Belt to it. Helps thin the deck, get Gigas into play, and saves room for collector to get other pokemon.
Battle Tower - Whenever any player plays any Pokémon from his or her hand to Level-Up 1 of his or her Pokémon, remove 4 damage counters from that Pokémon.
Honestly, I'm not set on this one, but it looked useful to use with Gigas Lv.X, maybe save sacrificing for one turn.
Burned Tower (Reviving Legends 78, not yet released in english) -
Each player may flip a coin. If heads, that player may search his or her deck for a basic Energy card, show it to his or her opponent, and put it into his or her hand.
Helps get your energy out of the deck (something I have trouble with) so you can discard it or attach, very useful.
Let me know what you guys think
