Hello, trainers. I would like to contribute some viable decks that everyone and I can use to do well at upcoming state championships. I will be posting these decks in a "chain".
Here is the first and most obvious deck - Blaziken Ownage:
Pokemon (25):
4x Torchic DR
2x Combusken (Flare)
3x Blaziken (Firestarter)
2x Blaziken ex
4x Dunsparce SS
2x Team Aqua's Electrike (Self Attach)
2x Team Aqua's Manetric (Power Shift)
2x Skitty (Lullaby / Double Edge)
2x Delcatty (Energy Draw)
2x Rayquaza ex
Trainers (17):
4x Oracle
4x TV Reporter
3x Prof. Oak's Research
3x Rare Candy
1x Town Volunteers
1x Switch
1x Warp Point
Energies (18):
13x Fire Energy
2x Multi Energy
3x Lightning Energy
Strategy: Use Dunsparce 1st turn to set up necessary components - Torchic's, Skitty, and Team Aqua's Electrike. Then through draw and search power, get out Blaziken with Firestarter, TA's Manetric, and Delcatty. With the components set up, start building Blaziken ex or Rayquaza ex to quickly win the game. If you need to start with a "bad" Pokemon, like Rayquaza ex, then use Switch or Warp Point ASAP.
Card Choices: I chose to run 2 Blaziken ex because I can't have only one copy ending up in my prize cards. I seriously prefer the Skitty with Lullaby and Mirror-Running Errand to both thin the deck and stall if I have to start with one. Also, I cut down Prof. Oak's Research by one because I tend to have huge hands anyway. It would be a serious statistical disadvantage to have to throw the hand back for 5 cards, other than emergency situations. Finally, 3x Rare Candy should be sufficient for the Blaziken lines.
Please offer any suggestions and comments. I'll be posting more ideas very soon.
