Root Fossil Lileep & Lileep

Since Lileep can only be placed on the bench if the trainer Root Fossil Lileep is played, can I evolve to Cradily the same turn since I didn't place the stage 1 onto a basic pokemon? It is an effect of a trainer that places the stage 1 not the usual evolution of a basic pokemon.

Evolving has nothing to do with how a Pokemon came into play.
All that matters is whether it came into play that turn or was already in play since the beginning of the turn.
