Ok so a couple of days before the tournament I had a look at my meta. Flygon and SP was everywhere, I had a little help from my brother and in the end I decided on the good old Flychamp. Gechamp was my favourite deck, and I really wanted to play it, but it's Flygon match up was no way as good as Flychamp. Soooo I had decided. Flychamp it was. Before I start I'd like to say a couple of things. . .

1) HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATHAN!

2) I won't be posting my list as I may be playing it at other tournaments-sorry!

When we got there I was shaking, because for some reason I had a bad feeling that I had chosen the wrong deck. Only time would tell if I was correct with my choice. The rounds were put up, and with the boost I needed I got a bye. It wasn't good for my ranking, but it made me feel a bit more confident. I played Nicolas in another room as he had a bye too and had a good couple of games. I won the first he won the second. I think I was nervous as I hadn't played the deck in a whole week. So after two chilled, friendlies I felt a lot better.

Round One: BYE

So I checked to see how everyone had done and I could see Flychamp was the play - I sighed with relief. On to the next round. . .

Round Two: Peter with Gardevoir Gallade

Peter starts with Ralts and attaches and procedes to confuse my Baltoy, then I draw. Attach to Baltoy a Call Energy and Call for Machop and Trapinch RR, he draws nothing much and confuses me again. I draw Rare Candy into Macheap, attach to Baltoy, retreat and donk his only basic. Sorry Peter, I hate donking but I guess I was just lucky.

At this point I was wondering, is he just a new player?. . . Yeah I was wrong. . .

Round Two: Peter with Gardevoir Gallade Game 2

He starts with Baltoy and Unown G. So he wasn't a new player at all. I don't remember much but he was tanking up a Kirlia on the bench. He kept Human (. . . Well Pokemon ) Sacrificing his Pokemon so that he could get three energy. I took a prize a turn, and while doing so he kept wanting a Gallade or Gardevoir. I was prepared for Gardevoir because of my Cynthia's in my hand, and I had a back up Flygon for Gallade. Sadly he has to bring out Kirlia. I knock out with Cheap Lv.X.( Take out + 60 from no guard )

Good games Peter!

Round Three: Jak (Baby Mario) Garchomp Dialga

I had a great advantage - now that Jak had lost his lucky scarf!111!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!1!1

Um. . . Ok I don't remember much of the SP matches, I am not good. I think I just got out Flygon and Machamp and in the end he lost.

Round Three: Jak (Baby Mario) Garchomp Dialga Game 2

So in the middle of the game the lights go off due to a power cut or something He has a partly black playmat and black sleeves so we wait 'till they put the lights back on. Eventually it is fixed. We carry on with the game and in the end I just got a good set up. I played my Cynthia's right and with two Claydol's going, I got set up well.

Unlucky Jak. It's good fun playing you.

Round Four: Chris Garchomp Dialga

So we had both gone 3-0. I really wanted to get my first CC medal so I tried my hardest. At this point I was so happy with my deck choice, but I still had to win this, and then the top cut.

I have a perfect hand. . . Then I realise how much I would have loved for a Call Energy with a Trapinch start and a Claydol in my hand. Oh well, I had Roseanne's to get it. Like I said I can't remember much of the SP matches. He had the Unown G but by accident attached it to Claydol, I also KO'd his Unown G at the beggining meaning. . . Claydol's Unown G could not get into the deck or anything unless I KO'd it. So I made sure it was the right point before doing so. He NM's but doesn't shuffle in Unown G so I think he must have forgot. I end up winning.

Round Four: Chris Garchomp Dialga Game 2

He has a lot better start than before and we both start off pretty good. I like games when that happens, you can see the true match up, and the games are a lot more fun. Even though the match up was hugely in my favour, he gave a fight but in the end he couldn't fight any more. At one point I leveled up May Cheap Lv.X and he thought he could KO it. With Remove Lost, No Guard, and Expert Belt anyway. Sadly he had just realised he only had three energy. I realised that that point that No Guard was shut off anyway. Even if he did I had Flygon Lv.X ready but he scoops in the end.

Better luck next time Chris. . . And after all that we end up playing again in top 2! So, here was my chance, not only for the Medal but for my ranking too. With my bye not counting I really wanted to win. I was ready. I power shuffled 2 times and once before our game just to be sure there were no families together in the deck.

My brother Nathan is in top 2 too with Ryan, so it was cool playing next to my brother. Before it starts a lucky dip thingy happens, so we all picked a facedown card. If you got the right card you got a certain item delivered to your closest league ( which in my case is Crawley ) and I end up getting the best which was either a Playmat or something else. I was very happy about that as I had traded my Pokeball one away. Here it was. . . The final.

Top Two: Chris Garchomp Dialga

Ok now I don't remember much. I can't even remember one move I did. Sorry but I am just going to have to do Win/Loss.

In this match I win.

Top Two: Chris Garchomp Dialga

In this match I win.

So I win, and Flychamp was the play! I get handed my Medal and 18 packs. I open one and sell the rest ( Well going to ) and in the one pack I get the one I card I needed the most ( as I ahve none ) Spiritomb. I think I might play Gliscor/Spiritomb for my next City, but I'll have to see. Then to top it all and make my day better Nathan wins his division too.

So in the end we both come home with 36 packs and two Medals - boy were we happy!!.

Props:

Nathan winning!
Me winning!

My lucky hat!
Jak going 3-1!
Catching up with friends.

Slops:
