Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Scizor/Cherrim Worth It?

I've spent quite a lot of time researching and playtesting Scyther/Cherrim. Even if it's not the best deck to use anymore, I really like it.
And from experience, this deck has problems against the higher hp pokemon decks. With BTS, those 2nd stage cards
can come out just as quickly now. And if they have big 100 damaging attacks, it can be very troublesome for Scizor.

I personally tried Shaymin Lv.X but I didn't find it that beneficial. It works if you get the right draw, but otherwise, it slows the deck down too much.
Remembering that Shaymin has to acutally be active before you can Level it. Then you have to find a way to retreat it fast, and still power up Scyther/Scizor...
I found it slow.

Unown Q surprisingly was more useful than I had expected. I used it many times in a pinch.
Chatot is pretty good too.

In the current matchups, the only chance Scizor really has is to win it early. Once the game gets into middle or late stages, Scizor can have lots of problems.
So I would build this deck with the mindset of just getting Scizor out and benching Cherrims. Nothing more. You either take control early and win or lose the match.
Don't worry about having "backup" Pokemon should you not get a strong start... because the game is probably over already if you don't get Scizor out by T2 or T3 at the latest.

I can't wait until the next set though... Expert Belt... yummy...

Which Cherrim are you talking about? I know SV has a Cherrim that pettle dances for 1 grass. 4 coins, 30 for each heads, then it's confused.

120 potential damage, but it's all coin flips, and then it's confused. probably not what you're talking about.. or is it?

Are you asking about matchups or for whether you should make the deck or not?

Scizor/Cherrim's a fun deck to use. Just go for it if you plan to play with friends (just don't go to an official tourney with it). I never tested the deck on the other decks you mentioned besides Speedrill.
But that really depends on your decks. In my experiments, Speedrill has the upperhand, but there are some variations to what trainers you can use in Scizor, and it is possible to win.

Also note that Rampardos is weak to :grass:. I'm not sure if that makes that much of a difference though. If I recall, isn't Rampardos a donking deck?

Ah yes, I remember that cherrim now. like a permanent Buck's Training for your grass and fire pokemon.

I think Rampardos is a donking deck, but I can't honestly say for sure. I think the idea is probably to start with a skull fossile, rarecandy to rampardos, and then attach an energy and do an easy 80 damage turn 1/ turn 2.

Rampardos is a donk deck. Scizor/Cherrim is a fun deck, but not tournament-worthy.

Depends. I've tested Scizor/Shaymin (Different deck, I know, but same basic principles) fairly conclusively, and I can say that it's got a good matchup against anything non-SP.
