I wake up at around 9:00, jump out of bed, take a shower, test a little, grab my deck and head out the door. I get to the American Legion Post at around 11:00, fill out my decklist, etc. Before I knew it, the tourney had begun. I decided to play Speed Empoleon.

Round One: Sean ??? with Torterra/Clefable

I flip over a Mantine. He flips a Clefairy active, and a benched Eevee, Clefairy, and Turtwig. I go first, topdeck a Call Energy and search out a Piplup and Baltoy. He RC's Turtwig up to Torterra, attaches an energy to Torterra, and passes. I attach a Holon's Casty to Mantine, Bebe's for a Claydol, and hit for 50. He just keeps trying to power up the Torterra, but I end up winning by Empo LV X's Hydro Impact followed by Warp Point. GG & Happy B-Day.

1-0

Round Two: Aaron Wheeeler with Garchomp

Once again, I start with a lone Mantine and he flips a Baltoy. I Rose for Baltoy and Piplup, attach and pass. He attaches and passes. I TGW, lose, and draw my Claydol, Cosmic power, Evolve Piplup to Prinplup, retreat Mantine and attack. He can't really get set up and it turns out that he had both Garchomps AND the LV X in his prizes. I end up winning by Hydro Impacting everything on his bench.

2-0

Round Three: Alex Haas with Speed Blissey

I have a Piplup start, he with a lone Chansey. He attaches and passes. I Candy to Empo, attach a Water Energy, Roseanne's for Piplup and Baltoy. He gets a T2 Blissey and hits for like 60. I get a little set up and we exchange a few prizes. Then, he drops a cessation crystal. x_x I had NOTHING. Empo active, Claydol, and a few random basics. There is no way I can OHKO him and he can OHKO me. I draw and.... DOES IT!! Topdecked Windstorm, Cosmic power for a new hand, Steven's for 4, and set up my whole bench. Attach an energy to the benched Empo, and attack. WoW.. We proceed to exchange prizes and I Dark Palm him which hurts his set-up a bit. Finally, time is called and I had just drawn my card. He had a Blissey active with like, 60 damage on it. Prizes are tied 2 to 2 and I hit the active with Surf Together FTW. VERY GG Toughest match of the tourney.

3-0

Round Four: Mathew Bickford with Dialga/Raichu/MD Stuff

I got a Mantine start AGAIN. He starts with Dialga. I use Call Energy and search out a Piplup and Baltoy. He attaches and passes. I slowly get set up from there and KO eveything with Surf Together. He really couldn't get anything set up.

4-0

Round Five: Nick Papworth with Empo/Omastar/Cloyster

He flips a Shellder and guess what? Mantine start AGAIN. <___< I get an aweful start, but manage to turn the game around after Hydro Impacting his benched Empo. I really can't remember much of this match other than I got a Dusknoir and Mantine finally set up and between Dark Palm and Surf Together, he really could get nothing and I won. GG

5-0

So, I make the top cut, then find out that there is no top cut.. Oh well..
So I get my 8 packs and Trophy card. I pull 2 Kabutops, Aerodactyl, Moltres, Leaf #7, and Glaceon #5. (The Eevees were in the same pack. lol)
Overall, it was a very well ran and fun event and I had a blast. Now, on to the Props and Slops..

I'm soooo glad I finally got to play you and go up against someone who truly knew what he was doing in a Empoleon deck...which is more than I can say for myself, but I had actually just put that together/ changed it around right before the tourney started w/ the help of a very good friend and his amazing patience and kindness. You however really deserved your placing so...CONGRATS!!! You did really well and its just a shame that there wasn't a top cut for your age div., but that's out of Keith's hands as far as attendance. All he can do is promote it and he always does well, but sometimes its not "in the stars", as they say. It was good attendance for the masters, but the your div and the Jr.s just didn't have a real showing...oh well, but hey u crushed me and thats a big deal...sorta.

Regardless, I had an equally terrible start and that match was deceided on who could bounce back from that sort of thing faster...and it turned out to be u...this time...muhahaha!!!...anyway, u deserved your win and beat me fair and square, but u were exceptionally merciful about it and that's what we need more of. Maybe not "mercy", but good sportsmanship, which you had in excess and I felt good coming away from it...or about as good as you can feel coming away with my start and a mirror, or nearly mirror match...somewhat sad for me, but also very humbling and it tought me something which is ALWAYS important. Thx for the mercy, though it was good for a laugh, I was pretty much w/o a prayer at that point. I hope to see you in as good shape and spirit at Nats!!

Nick: Thanks a lot man. It was a blast and I wish that you could have had a better start so we could really play it out to the end. I hope to see you at leauge and hopefully Nats (if I go.) Thanks for a great game.

Cody: Congrats on the Win. Alex enjoys Blissey, so I went back to it with a tweaked build. We had most, if not all, the cards for a Chomp build, but that deck will be better after the rotation.

Hope you get to go to Nats.

See ya at league!

Keith

Cody, you're a heck of a player. I kind of wish I could time travel 2 years into the future and see what kind of stuff you'll pull off in the 15+. You should try to make it to Nationals. I feel you could do really well.

Cody is going to knock me around like I'm some sort of ragdoll when he gets into Masters. Mark my words.

@Cody: Way to go on the undefeated win dude, I'll hopefully catch you at league this weekend if the schedule permits. This week is going to be insane x_x.

Here's hoping you get to go to nats.

Kieth: Thanks a lot. Alex really battled well. Best match of the tourney. If not for Windstorm, he would have won it.

Prime: Thanks, that means a lot. Can't wait till Masters!

TJ: Thanks. I'll try not to hurt you too bad. lol. I most likely won't be at leauge this week. Goin' to SC to visit family. Talk to ya later!
