Are there any updates?

In the 15 and up:

1st - Kevin N. (my brother, with Flariados)
2nd - Jim F. (Nidoqueen)
3rd - Jordan H. (Mewtric)
4th - Jennifer A. (Jynx/Wobbuffet)

I'm not sure about the other age categories. Great job to everyone though!

Congratulations Kevin! Matt, Shaina, and myself spent much of the car ride home trying to guess who would win this. We figured you would win vs. Jennifer because you were hitting your coin flips all night, and she wasn't, plus the Espeon EX would come in handy. We thought, however, Jordan might beat Jim because he didn't have Milotic. But we figured Kevin would beat Jim because of the ER2. Either way, kudos to all the players, and sorry if I'm making too many comparisons. All you guys are great.

Thanks to everyone at the Sevierville Gym Challenge. Jon, great job organizing. Keith, excellent job, thanks for being patient with me. Jeff, good to see you, great job judging, see you in Anderson.

On a different note, this was my 1-year anniversary playing in competitive Pokemon. That's right! It was last year in Sevierville GC that I (and Shaina) played in my very first tournament. And today was also the first day I made top cut, so very pleased with that too.

BTW, I believe Elyssa H. won 11-14 with LBS.

You all got 15+ correct.

Thx to all that came to this event. The numbers grew by nearly 20 from last year's GC.

Digivolve to ultimate D00D!

Go Kevin!1112345!!

Hurricane Nance heading to worlds! Watch out Yamato, your gonna be poke-slapped!

I wish two people could have won the 15+. I would have liked to see both Jim and Kevin win. But alas, no deal.

Yes, I concur with Tom, good job everyone running the tournament. Everyone did a great job today. Thank you everyone for coming out. We had people from Georgia, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina! The attendance pretty much doubled if not tripled this year. Go Sevierville!

LOL, so much PidgeotD out there, yet barely any LBS. Why? WHYYYYYYYYYYY?

Go Jim, I hope you have a peaceful summer in Ohio with your family.
Go Kevin, you should market your hugs. I'd buy a Erik/Kevin double pack any day.
Go Jon/Keith/Jeff, thank you for help running the tournament. Everyone appreciates it so much.
Go the Hill family, thank you for letting my friend's daughter borrow some cards.
Go Taco Bell, half pound burrito for just $.99? Kill me now, I think I've gone to heaven.

Congrats!

Hey there,

For someone struggling in the game right now, trying to decide what to do with himself for the future, this event was very fun and I enjoyed myself very, very much. People like the Nances and Brian Leary who "dragged" me along to this tournament because they care about me, really says things to me.

It always amazes me when I go to these events the amount of people I have positively affected. The best part of this game truly is not the prizes or competition, it's the people who I've come to enjoy being around so much over time. It's players like Jordan H and both Nance brothers who test my ability and yet even after the game is over, I know things are still cool between us.

I could not have asked for a more perfect finals match than versus the very kid who invited me into his home and brought me along. Congratulations Kevin, you played masterfully, well worth the trip to Worlds. I know you and your brother will do very well. Take it all bro!

I also wanted to thank Jeff and Keith for being such amazing judges who did very well. I also wanted to thank the Organizer (who's name evades me at this second). It was great seeing you again Mr. Riddle (thanks for the hugs), as well as meeting up with other people who know me, such as Tom.

Take care y'all, this Yankee is getting ready to head back home.

Actual attendence was 58, which was about 20 more than last year. The PTO of this event was Jon S. from Chattanooga. A HUGE thanks to Jeff R. (PTO of the Carolinas) for helping out on the Judging and also to our runners, Mike R. and Curren H (Current Natl & World Champ 10- 2005). Cannot forget Gina S. either for organizing and getting the Hungry Howies Pizza for lunch (YUMMM)

What a star studded event. I was so pleased and blessed to have been able to do the footwork in finding a GREAT venue for this event and being able to Judge for a great group of players. Everyone showed great SotG yesterday and the judges had no real issues to deal with. When the worst penalty all day was for a warning for not putting prizes out in swiss, you know the Judges had great players to deal with. I certainly hope that everyone enjoyed my standard extras at our Sevierville tourneys (free drinks and candy bowl). Just call it a bit of Southern Hospitality. I look forward to seeing more of my friends next week in Anderson SC.

Keith

PS K....get some sleep this time before the tourney and if you get the other cards in the mail, you can still borrow those 2 cards next week!

Kudos and thanks

I appreciate the kudos and compliments for the judges and myself, but truly the kudos go to the players. A finer crowd could not be hoped for and as Keith noted, fine examples of the SotG. You guys make it easy to run a quality event.
Thanks guys!
Jon

I think this is the first time Sevierville has seen a good showing from Eastern NC. I was talking with my friends about it how it's always TN/SC people at Sevierville, and NC/SC people at High Point, but the past two weeks have shown a good following of both areas together, and I think thats wonderful!

And I think this is good news for Severville. The more players the area gets, the more likelyhood of the area getting more events. I think we all would love to see that happen!

haha but it was so much fun hanging out with 3 of the coolest people ever in an awesome hotel! it was umm a night to remember lol Jesus (tom) was being very evil that night!

I sadly won't be making an appearance next weekend, even though it's in my neck of the woods :( fan fair-and the keith urban/kenny chesney concert is that night. I told my mom I'd give it up to go to the gym and she said if we would've been able to spend the whole week in nashville she would say yes, but since we're not even able to get up there untill friday this year (cause school gets out so late) we can't :( but oh well have fun though and cheer for matt and TJ for me :thumb:

Thanks to Keith and Jon for running an awesome event!!! Thanks to all the players/parents that travelled from all over to attend. If I remember correctly attendance was double from last year (28-30 vs 58). All the players showed great sportsmanship and looked like they had a great time. We always look forward to coming here and we had a great time. Also want to mention that the person who lost to PJ in 10- was Keegan A who is only 4!!! Watch out 10- players as this could be our next World Champ in a couple more years... Will post pictures shortly...

K: Forgot when I posted earlier that you told me about your concert this wkend. Go have fun hanging out w/ Kenny Chesney!

Jeff: I know we had a WHOLE lot more ppl this yr than last year! I always know that it will be a good time when the Reynolds clan is in Da House! You all are tops in my book. Couldn't have pulled off the whole tourney w/o ya!

See everyone in Anderson SC!

Keith
