Should pokemon restrict how long a turn can be?

the main idea would be to stop people from stalling.

How would the limit work?
by limiting the time for one turn to be only 8-10 mins long people wouldn't be able to stall. You would have 8-10 mins to make your turn and attack if you do not finish your turn befor your turn is up you don not get to attack. It may seem a little strong but you won't be able to stall as much as now. ther would still be to stall a little bit but you would have 3 mins to make a move befor being called for stalling.

disadvantages of the limit:
some people take long to think and would add pressure
it would make decks such as sps to move more quickly then usually
people will make more mistakes because they have little time to think

advatages:
it may go with you if your opponent makes a mistake
your opponent can't stall you out if your behind a prize
it makes the game a little faaster

would it be a good idea for pokemon to limit the time for turns?

This is a bad idea as people will still find a way to stall out their turn. I don't hate the idea, and i really aprove of it, but i don;t think it would work.

The bolded is something I think is not encouraged by the higher ups as far as policy. Pressure creates an unfun game for people who are beginners, or other people who simply take a while to think. Stallings a problem, but I don't think the answer is forcing a quicker game.

I can't help but be opposed to those limits. lol

Unless we are talking about a new player or a seriously epic turn, a turn shouldn't go anywhere near 8 minutes.

Also, I think those limits would create worlds of problems with stalling.
"I'm not stalling. I only took two minutes and thirty seconds between each action."

There are no hard numbers as the rules stand now, but I don't think any decent judge would let one turn take ten minutes without calling it stalling.

As far as time limits in general, I'm not sure where I stand.
I do agree that it would help with some things, but at the same time, how can you quantify allowed time for making a hard decision?

Obviously playing something like bill would get less time than somebody doing a late-game roseanne's and having to choose which card is most beneficial, but how much time is enough time?
Are we allotting time for searching separately from time for shuffling after the search?

I agree with Jeremy, the time and effort pokemon can involve at different times can be too wide to have a universal set number for them.

If you set a low time limit, it's unfair to decks like Shuppet which have a really long opening turn when able to use trainers. However if you set that as the limit, that's not going to cap stalling at all.

8-10 minutes? just because you take forever to take your turn doesn't mean everyone else does Stephen XD I don't think they should make a time limit though. If you have a big turn that could let you make a comeback but you have to use lots of searches then you won't have enough time to finish. When you play against decks with Spiritomb AR in them you'll have lots of unusable trainers in your hand and yes, it will take you a while to use all the ones you need to.

No limits to time at all =/ We should stick with the way it works now or do best 2/3 in 40 mins. If someone is dragging their heels, call a judge

No thanks. Though I may not usually take 10 minute turns, the knowledge that I have only 10 minutes will definitely affect my judgment, and I don't want that. I for one would hurry up and make mistakes, and I don't think Pokemon is a game where players should feel rushed and pressured.

10 minutes is way too long.

10 minute turns should be very rare. If you give people a 'right' to a 10 minute turn they will most likely take it every time,

That means a 40 minute game = 2 turns each!

10 minute turn is acceptable. But only a few timse. If each turn is 10 mins, screw that. At school, my me and friends start timing each other when we aren't doing anything for 10 secs. You may be: 10 SECS WTH? But first, it's when you aren't doing anything plus we don't have 3 hours for lunch time xD Only 20 mins break time and 45-50 min lunch and I just realized my lunch isn't an hour...wow I suck...

There are already guidelines regarding length of turns/actions.

The issues is that the more we micro-manage the more we get things like "No, it's only been 19 seconds since this and 4:03 since this, I have a stopwatch."

If you think sometime is stalling, call a judge.

8-10 minutes isn't acceptable at all.

Man... This girl was furious with me because I was "taking too long to complete my turns with a Donphan deck". Apparently, playing Donphan requires very little strategy. She folded her arms every time I started my turn, she wined, she complained, she called over a judge, she reiterated herself, she didn't wish me luck after I wished her luck, she made sure she got the last word in... but the only thing she did right was lose. ;)

shuppet decks take like 1 15 minute turn

40 x 20 seconds...? its 13 min, if it takes 20 sec for each card.... with me, (when i played Uxie rush, before everybody else started playing that) it took like 2-4 min to go through my deck, even tho im a really fast player... 10 seconds is a loo-ooo-ng time for me, thats why i dont have to deal with stallers, i play so fast that the game wont go to time, even if my opponent is slow. Still sometimes i have called judge because my opponent have passed time limits too much, giving him a unfair advantage of thinkin 30 before every single action. (if both does that, the game will be like sudden death... almost...)
