Just to clarify, I will be uploading games from our series when I get time. I have about six lined up; it just takes a while to get to all of them when so much other stuff is going on. At any rate, tonight will be EP only!

Emerging Powers Only

Pokémon (17)
4x Petilil
4x Lilligant
4x Thundurus
3x Tornadus
2x Emolga

Energy (21)
13x Lightning Energy
8x Grass Energy

Trainers (22)
4x Cheren
4x Bianca
4x Crushing Hammer
4x Great Ball
3x Max Potion
3x Pokémon Catcher

1-2. Games often came down to who would deck. Kyle & I again played very similar decks, him using the Icy Wind Beartic instead of Tornadus. Kyle again played amazing Pokémon, finding ways to deck me when he drew bad earlier. Final game came down to Bemusing Aroma flips and whether or not Kyle would draw an energy from his last three cards or something else. He drew the energy to retreat and save his Beartic and I again would deck by one turn. A very, very flippy format.

Call of Legends only?

For some reason I remember the prerelease, being an enjoyable format for that set

I am going to be up all night, then flying to Chicago at noon so I'll probably be too tired to play Kyle tonight. Thursday is Thanksgiving, so there's a good chance we'll be skipping that too. Friday we'll definitely be around to play.

Like Jason said, there won't be any streaming tonight or tomorrow. We will resume on Friday. Have a great holiday, everyone!

Good luck tonight. I can only imagine what can be build able from CL. Also I have an idea on what you can do after HGSS only. I was thinking you can play a night or two of Theme deck night where you play a Theme deck. And you can do a 20 each night where, like theme decks you have 20 Pokemon, 20 T/S/S, and 20 Energy. And you can use any cards in the format. Hope these work.

Unfortunately, Jason decided to go to Michigan for a City Championship for the weekend, so we won't be having any games for a few days. I'll keep you posted when we decide to start again. Thanks!

Yeah I know. I saw him at City's today. In fact I versed him and he scooped. But I did horrible in the main tournament. But what do you think about my ideas?

Black & White Only

Pokemon (26)
4x Lillipup
4x Herdier
4x Tepig
4x Pignite (Flame Charge)
2x Emboar
2x Emboar
4x Reshiram
2x Zekrom

Energy (18)
14x Fire Energy
4x Lightning Energy

Trainers (16)
4x Professor Juniper
4x Pokemon Communication
4x Energy Retrieval
3x PlusPower
1x Revive

Once again Kyle & I would play the same exact deck. The only difference is that Kyle's drew better than a modified-format Emboar deck. I faced more than one Turn 3 Emboar + Blue Flare and the games would play themselves out after that.

So far almost doubling the 2 time world champ. Pooka confirmed for GOAT.

KENOSHA COUNTY PRIDE!!

Call of Legends Only

Pokémon (24)
4x Relicanth
4x Magikarp
3x Gyarados
4x Pidgey
4x Pidgeotto
3x Pidgeot
1x Tyrogue
1x Palkia

Energy (18)
18x Water Energy

Trainers (18)
4x Sage's Training
4x Professor Elm's Training Method
3x Copycat
2x Cheerleader's Cheer
4x Dual Ball
1x Lost Remover

I actually spent two days playtesting this format with some friends and would end up overthinking myself. Basically, I came to the conclusion that Kyle & I were coming to the same conclusions. With no doubt, Relicanth/Lucario was the best deck in this format. It was consistent, and Lucario could OHKO everything. However, it was so obvious this deck would be strong that I knew Kyle & I would both be gunning to beat it. There's two cards that wreck Lucario: Mismagius and Houndoom, Houndoom even more so because it scores a OHKO for one special Darkness Energy. Houndoom also OHKOs Mismagius for two darkness energy so Houndoom seems like a staple in these deck, not to mention a single Tyrogue in play boosts Houndoom's Fire Counterattack damage as well, and Tyrogue was too good not to play. My thought process is that Kyle would want to play something consistent, which got me thinking he'd go Ninetales. What could he play with Ninetales? Perhaps Flareon or Magmortar (Flareon is much better). I was confident Kyle would end up with Flareon/Ninetales/Houndoom, but it turns out he didn't. In fact, Kyle didn't put much thought into this format and simply ran a Relicanth/Lucario/Ninetales list. (Ninetales is terribly redundant in his deck, and with no energy recovery, Roast Reveal is weak.) I didn't think it was impossible Kyle would play Lucario/Relicanth though, and that's part of the reason why I ran two fighting-resistant Pokémon too. He needs six in the Lost Zone to OHKO Pidgeot and Gyarados and I knew he plays too conservative to ever put six in there. He'd be too spooked I ran a Lost World. So the games ended up being close, with him maxing out at 5 in the Lost Zone, but setting up the OHKOS with Tyrogue's Mischievous Punch. He opened with Prehistoric Wisdom for a Pokémon all three games on T1, so that definitely hurt my chances, and I ended up 1-2.

Triumphant Only

Pokémon (35)
4x Mew
4x Magnemite
4x Magneton
4x Magnezone
4x Dratini
4x Dragonair
4x Voltorb
4x Electrode
3x Nidoran♀

Energy (21)
10x Psychic Energy
8x Lightning Energy
3x Rescue Energy

Trainers (4)
4x Twins

This Triumphant only deck was a monster. Any card you can use for consistency in this very limited format was in there. The only supporters are Seeker, Twins & Black Belt. Electrode allows you to maintain Twins control and stop them from using Twins. Went 4-1 against Kyle's Yanmega/Zone including a Turn 1 win on a Yanma with Voltorb. Game 4 I had the same flip to win (Voltorb vs Yanma) but missed.

Undaunted Only

Pokémon (28)
4x Slugma
4x Magcargo
4x Eevee
4x Flareon
4x Sneasel
4x Weavile
4x Mawile

Energy (24)
24x Fire Energy

Trainers (8)
4x Sage's Training
4x Team Rocket's Trickery

Eevee is a decent consistency-booster, but this deck turns Eevee into an attacker. Flareon can OHKO Mawile (an essential for every deck in this format) for a single energy. We gain Magcargo and run high energy so that Slugma's Active Volcando can consistently power it. Consistent, fast, takes care of Scizor Prime, this deck was a monster. I drew very well with the deck, and lost Game 3 on a turn where Kyle was forced to draw a Team Rocket's Trickery or lose. He drew it and I'd go 2-1, Kyle calling it quits.
