The arceus sleeves are pretty fail to me. I trust:

Lucario
Giratina
Rotom

I can't say Dusknoir was horrid, but din't use em much. Man those Garchomp sleeves just suck. Though I like useful holographic pre-release promos, so I can't complain about the par sleeves like HG/SS and Unleashed.

I had to resleeve my deck before T16 in states. I didn't have a new pack for myself, so the judges gave me a pack of Garchomp sleeves. They started splitting in T4. lol

giratina? i can understand rotom and lucario. arceus were amazing. maybe i got a lucky pair. lucario did fail quite fast for me though

From personal experience, the professor ones are god-awful. I got maybe 3 games out of them, and that's ridiculous considering how exclusive of an item they are. I'm surprised to see people praising them.

Lucario
Regigigas
Giratina
Rotom

Are the only ones I'd use. These look good, but will probably end up like the others I didn't mention.

I've played with...3, I think? Packs of the Prof. sleeves and they're all still very playable, although some small scratches have appeared on the logo part.

Based off the posts, I assume we are talking about prerelease sleeves? No one said this yet so its a little funny to me.

I love the Lucario sleeves. I use them for big MTG events because Pokemon sleeves are the play. They are only just now starting to become a little too used for high level events, so I may move em down to weekly use. This means I need new Pokemon sleeves, so this thread is convenient to me lol.

I noticed that the material changed after the Lucario ones(I've only seen a few sets of them, going from the Lucario ones to like the 'vire ones, and those are the newest ones I've seen). I didn't like the 'vire ones, they broke waay to quick. Did they make any ones since Lucario out of the same material?

The Rotom, Lucario, and Giratina consistently seem to be amongst everyone's favorites, so are they made out of the same material?

Finally, can someone link me to a picture of the professor ones? I was able to google the others, but 'pokemon tcg professor exclusive sleeves' isn't a very specific search term. Since they seem to be amongst the favorites, I'm interested in them as well.

just buy a pack of dragon shield and youre set for life

I use dragon shields for weekly things, casual games, my cube, and everything else in life besides big tournaments because I like to play PTCG ones at big MTG events because its awesome. I'm interested mostly in the professor ones(Which someone sent me a pic of, btw) the most.

On the subject of dragon sheilds, though they are slightly less good nowadays, I bought a set of red dragon sheilds over 4 years ago and still use them almost every week. Easily the best sleeves ever. After over 4 years of heavy play( I abuse my cards, really bad habbit) they only have minor scratches on the back and some debris that I just pick off. If anyone wants sleeves and cares only for functionality, or likes the opaque look, dragon sheilds are the freaking play.

I've used Dragon Sheilds, KMC, and Player's Choice (although PC I haven't used recently) and KMCs are the play. My fiance and I had both had KMCs and they've lasted longer than any Dragon Shields that anyone we know that plays the same amount as us owns. Dragon Shield certainly aren't bad, but I'd take PC or KMC over DS anyday.

KMC sleeves are beastly, and Ive had as few problems with them as the Dragon shields, but I dont like the way they feel as much as Dragonsheilds, and I am able to shuffle my Dragonsheilds easier.

Word. I think that KMC, PC, and DS are basically all tier 1 and everything else is below that, so it doesn't really matter as long as you're using one of those. My KMCs have lasted longer though, as I've said, but idk. I've heard PC has gotten better than KMC though, but have yet to try 'em out.

Do you know where the professor sleeves rank? T1? Worse?

(This is slowly turning into 'pat460's 'tell me about sleeves' thread, but whatever, its related to topic I guess.)

The Professor sleeves are definitely worse than KMCs, etc. but not by too much. Better than Ultra Pro, etc. I would feel comfortable using them in a large event.

So, say I use them only for big events and put them away inbetween them, they would last a while?

In my experience, yes. I ran them for 3 BRs and about the same amount of league sessions, so probably...~45 games, and besides some light scratching on the logo, they're completely fine.

Economically speaking, are the professor ones worth it? A very quick scan of ebay, and I couldn't find the Giratina sleeves, and the professor ones are at BIN for like 18. 36 ( 2 packs, since its for big events, in case one breaks) isn't bad I guess for high quality, special sleeves, but are the Giratina ones cheaper?

The Professor sleeves haven't split on me much, but I don't like the way the shuffle. They tend to "stick" just a tad more than most other sleeves I use. I played with them at a small event and felt like my randomization was bad all day long.
