anyone know where one is outside of Gamebattles and SBR?

Gamebattles is a joke, and SBR while it is better seems to lack players and its easy to set on ranking spots for a long time.

I am looking for a good competitive place.

there are your sites.. with smash and everything =P alot of the pros are there over MLG. where people have fake ranks.. well some of them.

or you can play me, Chompy, hax$ or vaporeon yep.. were pretty good.

I wish I could be on that list :S. I'm decent at best if I'm trying but I can't really play due to my controller malfunctioning so I have to play with the wii-mote. The controller hasn't been working since July :S

sorry to hear that bro. if it makes you feel any better, i was stuck playing with a gamecube controller that had to padding on the stick. i could play for 15 mins before i started to get cuts on my thumb.

Oh by the way guys, you should get new official Game Cube controllers. I've been seeing brand new ones a lot recently at local stores... back around the time of release when I wanted one I couldn't find one, so I had to settle for a used one (like new though).

I had a Mad Catz Micro Con, liked it but the A button would sometimes stick down and not come back up for a while which would really mess me up. Then I also had an official one with a really loose control stick. They were useable, but made it slightly harder to play. I hate controllers with chewed up control sticks where the rubber is missing from where some kid or dog pulled it off lol.

Chompy is a beast at brawl! No one can ever beat the all mighty Diddy Kong of his. Darthpika is decent but nowhere near where Chompy is. At one point, Vaporeon was the best but I have watched both of them play and it seems like Chompy wins most of the games against Vaporeon. I do say Chompy is the best in this site. No doubt about it
 
Yeah, for now, but I can beat his other characters so not really. I just have a problem with that Diddy of his. I do need to buy another controler because the one I use turn me around all the time.
 
Does everyone else have the same problem as me, with the screen reacting half a second after I press the button? It really stinks and I haven't adjusted to it, and that could be why I fail so much at online brawling.

It's called "lag". Caused by....well, lag in the connection. If there is not an excellent connection on both ends, there WILL be lag, how bad depends on the connection. It really ruins some games.
 
I thought lag would affect both sides equally... It seems it only occured for me most of the time. So I'm always at a disadvantage. Arg.

I'm pretty sure it does affect both sides equally. Obviously, one side can't be running faster than the other or things get messed up.

Same here. I can usually beat/give a close battle against his other characters, but its those dumb bananas that kill me every time. :(

I've gotten much better since we last played. :p I also am not used to playing against snake, so you had the advantage. I need to play you again sometime.

The bananas are weak sauce, it's the same thing as playing with items, except he has more control over the bananas then you do. Pretty sure if I use Pit or someone with that variation against his diddy I could beat him.
But being forced to use a certain character to win is kinda ghey.

I still need to play burritogirl and espeonchris since you're the only other two that seem to have a decent rep here.
So yeah.
