So, you can't wait for the new league season to start?

me and the wife went to a local just expecting to trade. nope! it was league today! so we were each able to fill out 1 row! the cards are GORGEOUS!!! great way to be introduced to this game. POP is great!!! MUCH BETTER THAN KDE OP!

My league leader says that you can only earn two of each on the TCG side and 2 of each on the VG side. And he makes it so the first pokeball you reach has to be the Snorlax. I'm not sure he gets it.

he doesn't.

Players earn one stamp for playing any Pokémon TCG or video game match. Stamps are tracked on each player’s Score Card. Stamps are only accumulated for the current season and any additional stamps may not be added to the upcoming season’s scorecard.
........
Once a player earns enough stamps on his or her Score Card to reach the image of the PokéBall, that player earns one of each of the promo cards. While each score card will have a total of eight PokéBalls (four on the TCG track and four on the video game track), a player can only earn a maximum of four of each promo card. These are earned regardless of whether the player reaches a PokéBall on the TCG track or the video game track.

Then he is doing it wrong. You can earn 4 each total if you play either game. You don't have to play both games. I believe you are also supposed to get one of each every time you play six games. Could be wrong though.

Dang mom beat me to it and even explained it better.

Thank you for clearing that up for me. I was pretty sure when I filled out six stamps I was supposed to receive a Snorlax AND a Uxie. I felt kinda bummed that I would have to go buy a DS just to get all the cards I could earn. Hopefully that gets fixed.

your league leader may have thought it was too easy to get them, and decided to make it harder for your league. Though since that's going against hte rules sent out, not really that commendable.

Until TPCi sets out some official rules documents on the VG, I can't seem myself bring my game to league and hoping to have a fair game.

But it is cool to see more VG integrated into the league.

I am agreeing with this post. Many of the people at our League do not even own a DS, let alone Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. That side of the card for them will just become a mocking void that they cannot fill. In fact, I noted that there were absolutely no video game matches being played during two League sessions that were held this week despite all of the announcements I and other League Leaders made that there is now a video game score card.

Being an absolutely obsessed Pokemon VG fan myself, I am very happy there is a VG score card; however, I wish it would be fixed for those that come to League just for its intended TCG-side. I don't expect people to go out of their way to buy both a DS and D/P/Pt (approx. $130-210 usd) just to be awarded points on their VG score card.

Buying a DS or any kind is not required to earn League promos.

Brad and I have been on top of all sellers since yesterday morning, but thanks for keeping a weather eye out for me. :thumb:

I am aware that there are legit ways to have the cards, and I'm not out to get anyone but we will be shutting down leagues that abuse prize support.

Also we will be updating our league process soon, requiring additional information from potential venues. Don't be surprised if in the next few weeks a seemingly well filled out request is denied as we ask for additional information. Just remember, if a league is denied with a request for more info, we do actually encourage you to reapply with that additional information on the next application.

Dan, MAJOR props to you and Brad for the choice of league promos this year!!

Although you drive down the value of the 20 reverse holo uxies Stevie and i already have lol, you make things more fair for the kids/players who can't afford to lay out the $20.00 holo uxies would cost them on E-bay. This also makes for a more level playing field- something that can only be a good thing for OP in general!!

My kids were thrilled Friday , I worked them into their decks and all of the sudden their decks just worked better, imagine that :thumb:

And the holo pattern looks awesome!!

Again, good job.

Man, I wish I had access to a League, but moving from one state to another and still none in range is sad times.

Buying a DS or any kind is not required to earn League promos.

But having a video game is for the VG ScoreCard side. That and having to either raise the pokemon on the game then playing other people with them (requires a gaming counsel; whether that be a DS, GBA, GB Color or even a GameCube) or borrowing a game and/or counsel from someone else to use in battle (which the ratios for those that have both versus those that don't are pretty big).

In the end, either one's borrowing or buying, just like the cards, and thus becomes a hassle for too many people.

but you don't have to get a SINGLE STAMP on the VG side of the scorecard to earn your maximum four of each promo each season!

I read the pdf file on the section you underlined in a previous post; I guess I'm slightly dyslexic or something. It says that players are to be awarded both of each promo (but one of each promo) per Pokeball symbol reached. Thanks for the clarification, I wish I would have noticed it sooner before posting.

I already have 1 Uxie and 2 Snorlax from 1 day...

My league leader is giving out Snorlax first then Uxie, then Snorlax since it's obvious no one will want the Snorlax.
Almost done with my TCG side and I wish the Snorlax was playable....

Everyone assumes these cards WILL be rotated out with their sets. I disagree. There have been times (POP reprints) that have kept cards around longer than the sets they came in. The promos may stay legal long after the entire set is rotated out. Who knows, Claydol might be the only legal card from GE after the set is rotated out (we will need a new Baltoy).

you are supposed to get BOTH when you reach a Pokeball, not one. It says so implicitly in the League instruction paperwork. Maybe I should scan that portion of the instructions in so you who aren't receiving the free prize support your LO/LL gets correctly can bring a copy of it to him and ask what gives :nonono::nonono::nonono:

here is a link to it.

also linked it on original post.
