I'm not asking about free trips for the top 8 from 2002 worlds, just wondering if they would be invited so they could attend if they wanted to defend their titles, paid for themselves. Anyone know?

Are he invitations, free airplane tickets and free hotel confirmed like 100%? if they are, there is NO WAY I'm not winning a Gym Challenge. This information is just too cool to recieve at this point.

Also when will the top 16 be given this trips? since it is always varying, and for example im currently 2'th in the world, but NEITHER of the CC's I won have been uploaded, so if they have already been chosen and I didn't get one because of that, that would be real bad.

I know WOTC was iffy with 15+ but Nintendo has always seemed very fair with all the age groups! I think I should be getting a free trip to Worlds as well.

I do not know if the trips were based on PUI's decisions, but the dates for sure showed that Japan has some say-so over all of this. So not only do we have Pokemon USA and Nintendo making decisions, but The Pokemon Company and their Organzied Play Staff.

You know, Phil. You just brought up a thought I've had for a while now... What is the Organized Play structure like in Japan... Not their tournaments, but I mean like Ruling documents, ranking system, etc. What about their tournament software if they use any? If they do, wouldn't it been logical for PUI to use the same?

I look forward to seeing everyone in the sunny orlando :)

Yes, but the tournament was called the Professor Championship and that was the 15+ age group only. I think thats pretty direct if you ask me. Can anyone from Nintendo tell me why I am being left out unfairly? Dylan doesn't even play anymore, I am unsure of Mindy, but I have played continually and actively yet do not get the trip too.

Mindy still plays. She was the one who already got an invite mentioned in this thread. I player her only a month ago. One thing about the Professors Championship to the Worlds championships. Worlds was a unique tournament in that it was invite only. Prof. Champs etc. were not.

I guess for me, I don't see the point of giving out trips to past winners. That was then, this is now. If you want a trip, you need to earn it by dominating in today's environment. ;\

JMHO... (now I'm acting like Pokemom!)

Dylan has also gotten a free trip, I talked to him over IM. Professors also had to take a test to become one so that tournament was also not just open to anyone who walked up. I think both are equal in value. Between this, Gen Con being the same date as Worlds, and Blaziken EX, and the new Marvel TCG coming out I am seriously being strained to stay in the game. I WANT to trust me. Im not turning my back on the game, but things are going against me now. I don't know...

My assumptions would be...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when Worlds 02' rolled around, WotC wasn't even giving 15+ recognition as an official age group, whereas 10- and 11-14 were "official", and therefore wielded "offcial" champions, which is why you get no invite.

As for Psycodad, he's only the 2003 United States Professor Champion, not a World Champion. Granted there technically was no 2003 World Champion, but he's still just a US Champion.

Yeah, I agree with you that it's unfair, but those are the technicalities, apparently only free trips have gone to "official reigning World Champions"

Hmm....
I played people from other countries. It was a 13 hour tourney. 2 drafts and modified. I lost 1 time all day. I played a rogue counter in modified, no archetype for me. It was touted as the "Professor Worlds Championship" by the judges and the TO's. Call it what you want. I won the worlds biggest tourney for 15+ last year. It's that simple. And yes, I have contacted Nintendo and I am waiting for a reply.
