A kid at my league has some cards id never seen. One of the other kids said they were south beach cards and might be very rare. Can someone explain these cards and if they really are valuable.

No, they are unfortunately not rare nor valuable.
The kid has no idea what he is talking about.

The English set was released in a folder that included all the cards and more.
When they first came out, I could pick up the entire set (including the folder and everything) for £20-25.

The proper name for them (and I don't know why we're not using that name in our Gallery...) is the Southern Islands set.
The most valuable card from the set is the Mew and that has been sold (successful, closed auctions) on ebay for a price ranging from $1 (!) to about $10.00.
I'd say $5 is the reasonable price for that.
The whole set can be had for $20 to $30.

[DEL]They're called Southern Islands, not Orange Islands I thought.[/DEL] Ninjad

Can't you change the title then? :p

Is that the English set or the Japanese set that goes for $20-$30? Also, the sealed binder goes for more (about $40).
