Collector's Cache will be sponsoring a special side event at Nationals to benefit Gleaners, the food bank of Indiana. We did a very successful event back during the holiday season here in Kansas City to benefit Harvesters (our local food bank), and we're hoping for a great turnout to show everyone in Indy just how awesome the Pokemon community is.

Date: Friday, June 25th.
Time: Registration will open immediately after Swiss rounds for the National Championship conclude for the day, and will close approximately one hour later. Swiss is expected to conclude at approximately 7pm.
Place: Register at the Collector's Cache booth

Entry Fee: A minimum of 2 non-perishable canned or boxed goods (of course, larger donations are very appreciated). 100% of the entry proceeds from this event will be donated to Gleaners.

Format: Same as the Professor Cup (Professors, come get your practice in before the Cup on Sunday!)
  • Platinum-on, no Black Star or POP series promos (except for reprints of PL-on cards).
  • 30-card decks. Instead of the standard 4-card limit, a 2-card limit will be used.
  • Games will be played with 3 prize cards.

Collector's Cache will be contributing over 200 booster packs to the prize pool for this event (prize distribution will be determined by attendance).

Also, we will need a few good staffers for this event. If you would like to help judge, please PM me.

Hope to see you all there!

Special News Flash

In addition to the goods that you, the players, will be bringing to enter, an anonymous donor has also come forward and offered to contribute $5 to Gleaners for each of the first 100 players.

It takes just $1 for Gleaners to distribute eight pounds of food and groceries -- that's the equivalent of six meals. So just by signing up for this tournament, you'll be helping to feed 30 people throughout Indiana.

We hope this news will encourage more of you to participate! We are excited and hoping for a huge turnout to help the hungry in Indiana!

So does this mean that swiss for day 1 would probably end before 7? Is there a projected time frame for this?

We are really looking forward to this event. Thanks in advance to Chairman Kaga and anyone who will be helping staff this event.

We have been told by TPCI that they expect to conclude Swiss around 7pm. If this does not hold then we will adjust our schedule accordingly.

Will 2 packs of ramen be sufficient? I cannot bring canned food on airplanes.

Yes, dry packaged non-perishables like macaroni and cheese or ramen are fine.
