Spike's BiMonthly WiFi Battlefest

Ok, so I see a lack of tournaments that really have a good base rules as to what players want (other than Blastoise-ShellShocker, his 2v2 tourney is great), so I figured I'd use my SSBM tournament knowledge and see if I could get a good BiMontly started. The prizes aren't that great, but a tournament is a tournament and I think the reason we all play is for the battles, not the prizes.

BiMonthly:
–adjective
1. occurring every two months.

RULES:
1v1 6 pokemon lv 100 Modifier.
Double-Elimination. (You must lose to two opponents before you are knocked out of the tournament.)
Species Clause. (No two pokemon in your team may be the same.)
Item Clause. (No two pokemon in your team may hold the same item.)
Sleep Clause. (You may not put two of your opponent's pokemon to sleep at the same time.)
No OHKO moves. (You may not use moves that automatically KO's a pokemon if it hits. IE; Fissure)
No Legendary Pokemon may be used.

You get 6 pokemon for the tournament, once you enter you may not change your team of 6. Send a PM to Loetke reporting your team before the tournament.

You can find Loetke on post #23.

Report your match by PMing me who won/lost. If neither player reports the match or attempts contact, a coin-flip will decide who moves on.

Double Elimination Example: 4 players. Player A plays B, Player C plays D. B and D win. A and C are now in the "Loser's Bracket" while B and D are in the "Winner's Bracket." A and C, and B and D now play each other. A beats C. C is now out of the tournament due to 2 losses. B beats D. D is now in the Loser's Bracket and must face A. A beats D. D is now out of the tournament. A is now paired against B in the Finals. If A beats B, there will be another match because it was B's first loss. B can lose again, making A the winner, or B can beat A and become the winner.

If you didn't understand that, or don't care, just play who I tell you to and I'll let you know if you won the tournament or not : P

Disqualifications:
You will be given a round loss if you break any of the rules. If you start a match and realize you have an illegal team (2 of your pokemon are holding the same item) you may stop the match and fix it, IF neither person has knocked out a pokemon (exception: opponent 1st turn KO's themself). If you realize after a pokemon has been knocked out, it is then up to your opponent whether or not he/she wants to restart the match. If he/she does not, you will get a loss for that round.

If there is a dispute, both players should PM me their side of the story and I will make a decision accordingly.

Prizes:
1st Place:
Hold Item of your choice. - INCLUDES BATTLE TOWER POWER ITEMS!!
Two TM's of your choice.
Three Berries/Balls of your choice.

2nd Place:
Two TM's of your choice.
Three Berries/Balls of your choice.

3rd:
Three Berries/Balls of your choice.

Starting On the 5th of every other month(this month starts it), I'll hold a tournament using the above rules. That gives 4 days for signups on the first tournament. Max people - 16(min. 8). We're gonna go for 2 rounds(matches) per week, so that we can actually finish a full double elim. tourney in 2 months.

Post your FC when you sign-up. I'll keep a list on this post for easy referance.

Great!

(oh yeah, forgot to say they are 1v1, tho if theres a big enough request they could be changed to 2v2, or we may possibly alternate between the 2)

Well, I don't think it's fair to PM you our teams after the first round, if you're playing in the tournament, then you will know what we are playing when we face you.

i will join even though i'm still hosting/competing in my tournament. my friend code is
1547-1729-0094
can we change pokemon between rounds?

I thought about it for a while last night and i don't know how else to do it unless we have a non-playing judge. PMing after the first round gives everyone (including my opponent) the element of surprise. I figured that after the first round, all you would have to do is ask your next opponent's previous opponent to find out what you're up against.

ok 4 more days till enter, do we have pm out 6 pokemon so you know we don't change it?
i need to get my pokes to lvl 100 since i only have 1 lvl 100 -_-

You'll PM me your 6 pokemon AFTER you play your first match. also, you won't need to worry about getting your pokemon to level 100, the level 100 modifier automatically changes them to it and adjusts their stats accordingly. you should probably have them atleast to the 30's tho.
