Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Strategy Game 3

So it goes to game three and you know time is going to be called shortly. You want to play by the rules and not stall. What is your strategy. Do you really want to go with a castform start and delta draw looking for set up or do you go for First Blood? Or What else would you do?

And no Moza you can't flip the table over. But that Wylie Coyote thing really cracked me up.

Well, you could stab your opponent and make it look like suicide, but you gotta be deadly fast(hehe, I made a funny)

Go for first blood and take rather long turns imo.

It's hard to say what's the best strategy for Game 3. Some decks require to set up to win and other can simply KO your opponents Pokémon.

If your deck is a slow one, that needs some set up, you should analyse your hand to see if you could KO a Poké of your opponent in T 1-2 or maybe 3, since you should know by round 3 what kind of deck and start your opponent is playing, you should be able to see if it's good to attack fast or to set up.

If your deck is a fast one (Bandoom) the answer is very simple: Go get your prizes and win this match!

Depends on "how" shortly time will be called. If you have 5-ish minutes, that's just enough time to pull off two-three turns of setup. However, when there are only a couple of minutes remaining, you have to go with the most aggressive play you can. Good example was game three of one of my city championships: I can either have a perfectly fine castform start, or get off a turn one latios ex d (vs banette). I chose the latter 'cause that was the best option.

Just play it by ear. That's all you can do.

Set up good, without loosing a prize, so you have a attacker (any one is good) and just get ahead with one prize.

You could also say you gotta go to the toilet, i done that once.

Going to the toilet will either get you a game loss if the judges aren't informed first or a time extension for the lost time. No point in stalling in the stalls!

Make some sounds and when they smell something they will agree with you

Mostly it comes up to matchup here. Non-Castform decks have an advantage over the Castform decks in sudden death. Banette and Shiftry are the Kings of sudden death, while Delta, Metanite, and Flygon kinda crumble. That's why Banette and Shiftry are so sick in the cut. They really only have to "win 1 game".
