Sudden Death - Self KO ruling

Just want to make sure that I have this correct.

Game situation:

Time has expired, +3 turns have been taken, game match tied - sudden death

If a player uses damage swap to KO their own Pokemon (in order to attack with a different Pokemon or to activate twins ) is the game immediately over? (With the opponent winning)

OR

Could that player then knock out the opponents Pokemon restoring the sudden death condition and continue the match?

In this case, all effects of an action are resolved and the game state is checked.
Since the KO completes the damage swap action (and all triggered actions), the game state is checked right then. Since one player now has taken more prizes, the game is over right then.
