Who else picked up this game? I'm only a few hours in, but I can say this game has brought alot of new features from the previous 2 games and is definately worth picking up.

I just got home with it. Unfortunately, my Wii is at my Grandmother's. =( (She likes Bowling on Wii Sports, Darts on Wario Ware, and Billiards on Wii Play) I won't be able to play until tomorrow. ='(

Its actually alot like the original mario brothers...but you can do alot of different things (swap between 2-d and 3-d, elimination of "allies", playing as peach as well as other charachters).

I'm on 5-2 right now, haven't played much but it's a pretty good game. Up there with PM1 I guess and definitely better than PMTTYD because that game.. sucked.

I was reading on this game review site and the guy was like " Dude this looks like a bizzar acid trip combined with the old school mario we all love " I picked up my copy yesterday and I'm personally loving it. But seriously who ever came up with some of the concepts in this game... needs to lay off the hallucinagens... xD You'll all understand once you get half way through the game. Lol....

;/ so does this have turn based combat or or not?

edit: found out myself. Doesn't look all that appealing now, I wish they included turn based elements and this platforming stuff. Its pretty much a different game compared to the other 2.

Hence, Super Paper Mario. Having turn-based fighting would have broken the rhythm of the game anyway.

I've only gotten through World 1. I loved it. Wish I had more time to play it. D:

Pfft. Thousand-Year Door was not as good as the original Paper Mario but was still quite excellent

idk that's what everyone tells me and while I felt a lot of originality in many levels it seemed so fake compared to PM1.

I will admit in SPM there are some tedious levels i.e. level 4 (and 5 isn't that great either but it's tolerable).. other than some unoriginality in specific levels I felt this was a great game, but now I'm not sure if it's up to par with PM1.

LOL, you're looking for originality in a sequel... who cares, it was a well made game regardless. O. o

And... fake?

Tim Absath? i think i read the same thing, he picked it up just cause it looked like an acid trip :p

" Super Paper Mario comes out next week. I've never bothered with a Paper Mario game, quite frankly because they looked boring to me. If I wanted to play an RPG'ish game with turn-based combat, I can think of about a dozen franchises I'd rather do it with than Mario. Though for this one they've done away with turn-based action in favor of a more speedy, dynamic platforming experience. I've seen some videos and it looks like a bizarre acid trip so... I'll pick it up.

Not to mention my Wii could always use more titles. I am a little disappointed that Super Paper Mario is yet another GameCube game converted to a Wii game. It will be nice when we start getting good games that were intended for the Wii."

was that what you read? funny guy...

once i get a Wii, i will be picking this game up asap!

sequels can be original.. some sequels to games felt completely original such as Majora's Mask which is probably the most creative Zelda out there.

fake, as in the creators had probably thought the whole thing up in minutes; I thought the character lineup was great but the levels themselves as well as the plot were lacking.
