Super Smash Bros. Discussion

Snake can handle Metaknight too. Watch the Apex 2009 GF. (amazing games by the way).

Metaknight is a pain to play against. But just Metaknight doesn't give people the edge needed to win. You need to be a good player, and good with Metaknight. This takes practice and time. You can't just win a tourney by picking up Metaknight with no prior practice with him (or seen a bunch of higher level MK play).

But Snake can only defend against him of flat stages and loses to him on platform and moving stages so because of that, I don't consider him a good counter.

Except most moving stages aren't legal in most tournaments anyway...

But some are for counter picks thought. Snake can't fight against MK on stages like that just because of the way he coded. He can go one on one with MK on flats.Ether way I'll just pick Sonic and solve that problem.

How is Sonic better against Metaknight on those type of stages? His attacks have lower priority and he MUST close with Metaknight, which it totally fine with MK. MK has a much easier time KOing Sonic, due to his light weight compared to Snake.

Sure, Homing Attack, if used correctly, can beat some Mach Tornado, but its a whole lot easier to just grenade/shield then follow up with more grenades/tilts.

I'd prefer to go with Snake>Sonic any day versus an MK, and I don't play any of those characters.

The issue with MK is that, while he CAN certainly be beaten (and, albeit, takes at least some skill to be good at; punishing lag with whatever ariel and knowing what move to use out of Dthrow IS difficult), it is incredibly difficult to. And then after you beat one MK, then there's probably three or four more around the corner...

@Chase then you get sheildgrabbed by MK while he then consistently Machs you and then KO's you with Dsmash when you screw up (or Shuttle Loop Out of Shield).

I'm saying that Sonic can fight on par with him. Both are fast and can hit hard when needed and Sonic does not get punished on platform stages like Snake. Snake is just way too slow for me to play.

Yeah but Sonic has awful priority, meaning MK will almost always win approach wars with him...and since he has no projectiles, then there goes that option.

@SK

Well, it works like this.

If a character can have a few advantageous moves over another character, by speed, priority, or power (or finishers), then that character is said to counter the other character.

Take, for example, MK vs. G-dawg-er,,,,Gannondorf. WHile Gannondorf might have superior attacks as far as power goes, his priority and speed are so terrible that MK can just abuse his insanely fast ariels, tilts, and Smashes to utterly destroy Gannondorf.

However, there are other limiting factors here...

If a character has a projectile, such as Falco's Laser, then it can turn the tables, as it helps with spacing and damage, and Falco has enough finishers.

It;s kinda hard to explain quickly, but yeah, you get the gist of it.

MK is easy for me [del]2[/del] to beat. [del]idk[/del] I don't know why the only character i ever use is lucario and my sis is [del]alwyz[/del] always MK, [del]idk[/del] i don't know whether my sis is just bad [del]@[/del] at using MK or if lucario is just too epic.

Ulti says: I fixed your post for you. Ok, thanks:thumb:

MK's Lucario matchup isn't the best, but it is still favorable, and Lucario just has really bad problems approaching MK safely unless you know Lucario inside and out.

MK does take skill to play as, so I'd assume that the people you are playing aren't very good, but you never know.

In SSB64, I've been known to 2 stock my friends, who are very good players, with Puff vs. Fox on Hyrule. It's still hard tho.

Yeah but unlike Luxchomp, MK has literally NO counters. LC could at least get by with its weaknesses to uncommon decks, like Machamp or Donphan.
