Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Survivor Season 5: The CAC only one!

Ooookay........so, since we only have 14 people and the board was closed the majority of the day yesterday, the contest will begin tommorow. Yes, contest will start January 4th. When? Dunno yet, depends on when I log on here. XD

Okay, here's the deal. Since I'm a bit late(my bad, I know), we're going to start today. However, HypnosProjectHQ is a drop apparently. So that means we have 13 people.

Here's Round 1:

A simple CAC challenge, really. I want to see how good you are at creating a Basic pokemon.

Rubric:
Stage: Basic Pokémon that can evolve
Dual Type: No
Pokemon ex/other odd mechanic: No
Descriptors(includes owners, teams, etc): No

Scoring Guide-
Basic Info:6 Points-Name, Stage, HP, Type. Get all of them right.
Attacks/Bodies/Powers:36 Points-13 Points for each one. Meaning:
1ABP=36 points 2ABP=18 points each 3APB=12 Points each
No more than one Power/Body on a card.
No more than 3 attacks on a card.
Weakness/Resistance/Retreat Cost:6 Points-Get it right, make it make sense for the card.
Explanation:6 Points-Explain why you did what for what. Explain the attacks, etc.
Combo:6 Points-You must have at least 3. Make sure you get the main combos, though. For example, anything that involves attaching a lot of [W] energy to make it better, you better mention Blastoise ex.

Total=60 Points

Here's an example(not real, and this is a very bad job =P ).

Toylogo
Basic [C] Pokémon
60 HP

[C][C] Toy Bombarding
This attack does 20 damage to all of your opponent's Pokémon in play.

Weakness: [F]
Resistance: n/a
Retreat Cost: [C][C]

It would evolve into Logono.

I don't think there is anything I missed. The 'it would evolve into _______' isn't needed for your cards.

Deadline is next Friday, at 3:00 Central time. PMs will be sent out to missing entries on Wednesday if they are absent at this time.

Wait, so do we make up a pokemon, or make an already created one?
Already created one, of course. -_-

The one I did was an example, and doesn't exist. You do a real, created one.

Chansey
90HP
{C} Type
Basic Pokémon

Poké-BODY: Help at All Cost
Remove 1 damage counter from each of your Pokémon, that has any damage counters on it, between turns. Then, place a damage counter on Chansey for each damage counter removed in this way. You can't use more than 1 Help at All Cost Poké-Body between turns.

{C} Well-Earned Rest
Remove 4 damage counters from Chansey.

{C}{C} Heal and Strike 10
You may remove any number of damage counters from your opponent's Benched Pokémon. If you do, this attack does 10 damage plus 10 more damage for each damage counter removed in this way.

Weakness: {F}
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: CC
Rarity: Rare

Explanations:
All stats based on the last (FRLG) Chansey.
The Body heals all your wounded Pokémon, but hurts Chansey as well. For each counter healed you have to put one on Chansey. But after hard work, Chansey can rest so some of the counters may be removed. Second attack heals your opponent's bench but it also powers up with each healed counter. That is, because Chansey wants to help everybody, however has no mercy with any attacker.

Comboes:
It obviously comboes with itself for stalling and healing purposes.
Alakazam BS - spread the damage counters then heal them with Chansey.
Venture Bomb - If Tails, just heal it up with Help at All Cost.
Dark Ampharos and/or Dark Tyranitar (or anything else with bench hitting attacks) - If you can build some nice bench damage, you can then use it to Ko their hitting Active Pokémon with Heal and Strike.

Scyther 60 HP (G)
Basic Pokémon

(C)(C) Stab Down 20
If the Defending Pokémon is a Basic Pokémon, the Defending Pokémon can't retreat during your opponent's next turn.

(G)(C)(C) Screeching Scythes 30
Until the end of your next turn, if Scyther would be damaged by an attack, that attack does 20 less damage.

W: (R)
R: N/A
RC: (C)
Rarity: Uncommon

Explanations: The 60 HP is becuase the last uncommon scyther had it. Stab down only does 20 damage becuase that evens it out. Same for Screeching scythes. The (R) weakness is becuase every other scyther has had it. I decided to give this one no (F) resistance because only one had it, which was the first one. Retreat cost of one is normal for an uncommon scyther and even a rare one.

Combo's: Obviously it works for itself. You could use stab down to keep any basic your opponent has, then screeching scythes to either wittle down HP or reduce any big attacks it has. I also think it's good with Scizor EX. You could stab down a Helpless basic, evolve Scizor, attach metal energy..KO! It's also good against Nidoqueen nd Sand Damage T-tar: It can kill either in 2 hits and can reduce their damage consdibrily. Also works with Raikou*, becuase if the it's drawback happens, Scyther will be able to reduce the blow.

Well, there it is, I hope it does well!

Voltorb 40HP [L]
Basic Pokémon

Poké-Power: Recharging Lightning
Once during your turn you may search your discard pile for a [L] energy and put it in your hand. Voltorb can not use this power if it is affected by a Special Condition.

[C][C] Rolling Ring 10
The Defending Pokémon cannot retreat if it has less than 60HP.

Weakness: [F]
Resistance:
Retreat Cost: [C]
Rarity: Common

Explanations: HP is due to the HP of other Voltorbs. So is the weakness, resistance, retreat cost, and rarity. The attack does only 10 damage because it also has an effect.

Strategies:
ZRE: If you discard one too many [L] energys you can get one back with Voltorb's Power.

Ninjask [DX]: You can make your opponent's Basic Pokémon not evolve and stay Basic. Then you can bring up a Pokémon that can't do anything and has less than 60HP and use Rolling Ring to stall and trap it.

Scyther (G) HP:70
Basic Pokemon

Quick Sythe Slash (G) (C):20
If the Defending Pokemon tries to attack you during your opponent's next turn, your opponent flips a coin. If, tails that attack does nonthing.

Rapid Energy Slash (G) (G) (C) 20x
Flip a coin for each energy attached to Scyther. This attack does 20 damage times the number of heads.

Weakness (R)
Resistance
Retreat Cost

Combos: Parasect RG, use energy powder to Scyther to do more damage with rapid energy slash. If you have 20 (G) to scyther and you got all heads the atttack would do uh 400 or 4,000 making this card to ko any pokemon. Root Fossil, Weezing DX to stall your opponent to run out of cards.
DRE, Boost, Scamble, to cause more damage with Rapid Energy Slash.

Seedot(G)40hp
Basic Pokemon

(Poke-Power)-Acorn Gathering
Once during your turn(before your attack), when put Seedot on your bench from your hand, you may search your deck for a card with Seedot in its name, show it to your opponent, and put it in your hand. You can't play that card from your hand until the end of your turn. Then, choose a card in your hand, show it to your opponent, and shuffle it into your deck.

(G) Tree Drop
Choose an Energy attached to Seedot and shuffle it into your deck. Then, choose an Energy card attached to the Defending Pokemon and shuffle it into your opponent's deck.

Weakness(R)
Resistance
Retreat Cost(C)

Explanation:The HP and bottom stats are based off of the Seedots made by Nintendo. The power is because it usually hangs out(in trees) with its buddies(according to the Pokedex or something). The attack is because it drops down from the tree, suprising itself and the Defending Pokemon, shuffling Energy back in.

Strategy:It can be of use in a pinch, allowing you to keep shuffling Energy into the deck for decks that don't have extra Energy attachment(great tech against Medicham ex). It is a great Pokemon in the fact that it searches out other Seedots when played, allowing you to keep a constant stream of Seedots when you play the first one. The attack is for bad starts, in case you want to keep your opponent from attacking well. It also can keep your deck replenished with Energy. There really isn;t that much strategy to it, because it's only a stepping stool to getting Shiftry out.

Clamperl 50 HP (W)

Basic

PokeBody:Clamp Counter
When ever Clamperl is damaged by an attack flip a coin, if heads place one damage counter on the defending pokemon.

(C) Pearl Lure
At the end of your oppenent's next turn the defending pokemon receives 10 damage.

(W)(C) Shell Shield
During your oppenent's next turn all damage done to Clamperl is reduced by 20.

Weakness: (G)
Resistence:
Retreat Cost: (C)
Rare: • (Common)

Explation: HP,Rarity, type, resistence are from the other clamps. The attack Clamp from the game gave me the idea for the body.Pearl Lure means that a small creature swims up (witch takes a turn) going tra la la la only the be clamped and scream in pain. With Shell Shield Clampearl waits for war to end and protect it's self as it waits lowering damage with protection.Grass weakness sounds better than thunder because of Clamp's shell.

Stratagy:
1:Clamp protects and damages as it builds up (P) type energy. When weak switch for Tropius (HL) and Fruition with Multi or (P) to Clamp to heal or Potion,Herb, ect.Evolve Clamp to Gorebyss to OHKO.

2: In Double Battle, use Ludi to heal, have Hitmontop (UF) and Clamp on the field.Your oppenent will try to KO Clamp because of Hitmontop's Body (must be evolved). Have Hitmon kills the oppenent. Both Pokemon counter and get healed.

Squirtle (W)40HP
Basic Pokemon

Pokebody: Hard Shell
If Squirtle would be damaged by an attack, reduce that damage by 10 for each basic (W) energy attached to Squirtle. You can't reduce more than 20 damage in this way.

(W) Foam Spray 10
The defending pokemon pays (C) more to retreat until the end of your opponent's next turn.

(W)(C) Torrent 20
If Squirtle's HP is exactly 10, this attack does 20+20 more damage.

W:(L) R: RC:(C)
Rarity: UnCommon

Explaination: This is based off the game's stats (like nearly all my cards). Because of it's high defenses, this is a more stallish poke. It has a hard shell, so I took that idea and put it as a pokebody.
Foam Spray is a weak attack meant to annoy like Pidgey's Corner. Torrent, Squirtle's ability, raises water moves by 1.5x when low on health. I translated this into an attack.

Strategy: Not much strategy. It's just something to RC or evolve into Blastoise, but like Pidgey, can help with bad starts by stalling. Early game, Squirtles will usually receive no damage, and even if it does, it's 2nd attack would help it. This card could work in Blasty EX decks.

Oddish

Oddish
50 HP (G)
Basic Pokémon

Poké-BODY: Semi-Block Wind
As long as Oddish is your Active Pokémon, whenever your opponent plays a Trainer card (excluding Supporters), flip 2 coins. If both are heads, that card does nothing. Return that card to your opponent's hand.

(G) Pollinating Spore 10
If a Stadium card is in play, search your deck for a card with Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, or Bellossom in its name and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.

Weakness: (R)
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: (C)

Explanation: Most Oddish's have 50 HP, so mine does too. (G) type is obvious. The Poké Body is sort of like Neo Genesis Slowking, except you couldn't have a Basic Pokémon running around with that good of a power! So, it takes 2 flips and Oddish must be Active. Pollinating Spore allows you to grab Oddish's evos out pretty quick, granting their is a Stadium on the field.

Strategy: Oddish simply is useful in a Vileplume ex deck. Semi-Block Wind can act as a Trainer denial, while Pollinating Spore gets Vileplume ex or Bellossom HL out fast. Bellossom UF is also useful, becuase Oddish can get more Bellossoms out for its attack. If you play Unlimited, this plus Neo Genesis Slowking will almost guarantee that your opponent can't play trainers. Or, play it with useful stadiums and hope for a Stadium lock.
