Having very little time to test sucks. So I decide to just steal Ricky's second place zeel list from previous week (thanks bud! :thumb
and head down to Washington with it. we made a few tinkers with it on the bus. the night before my roommate Kevin convinced me to put in a gigas ex. not sure if it was his convincing or I just love gigas as a pokemon. Either way it finds its way in my deck. we ended up with a huge turnout of 210 masters. with a top 16 cut, it means many 6-2s will miss. I apologize for remembering no names whatsoever.
Round 1: Zeel Vs. Basics deck.
his deck seems to be just a bunch of huge basic pokemon with no energy acceleration. he starts cobalion to my zekrom. he drops terrakion which kinda gets me worries. my memories escape me but i remember KOing his terrakion then his mewtwo. from here the gets nothing and i take remaining prizes with Thundurus.

Round 2: Zeel vs. Lourence W/MewPlume
Lourence and I go to the same league in BC so i knew what he was playing. i start mewtwo zekrom to his double mew. i go first and think about juniper-ing my hand away to go for DCE and quick KO. i decided against it and just attach lighning with eviolite and pass. he grabs some oddishs and sees off jumpluff. I top deck collector and only grab 2 basics to make sure he can only mass attack for the 90X2-20 for 160. i kill his mew and he proceeds to put 160 on my mewtwo. I juniper into great stuff and was able to retreat mewtwo into thundurus and KO his mews with disaster volt. he cant get vilplume so I continue to catcher KO mews. he never recovered.

Round 3: Zeel vs. The Truth
before the match i saw his deckbox and it was labeled with Durant. so i think i'm playing against durant until he flips over phany and reshiram. i'm still confused and stuck on thinking it was some Durant mad science deck until he gets oddish and solosis. i score quick KO on solosis with tyrogue which allowed him to twins for candy plume. however without solosis he can't move damage counters. I 2 shot his donphan while he tries to set up reuniculus. sensing twins chain and seeing duosion on the bench i N to keep reuniculus furthur away. it works as he contiune to send up weak pokemon to buy a few turns. he didnt get reuniculus until i only had one prize left. by then i drop mewtwo and load up enough energy to one shot his donphan.

i go first with tyrogue to his lone solosis. sorry bud.

Round 5: Zeel Vs Mewtwo/Terrakion
nothing much to be said here. i was weak to his entire deck and never really stood a chance in this game. I tried to use my own mewtwo to fend off his onslaught of terrakions, only to run into his mewtwos. i get rolled.

Round 6: Zeel Vs Durant
i get poor start and he starts to T2 devour for 4. i get a few catcher kills with disaster volt and eventually get eel with zekrom going but he kept catchering eel. I keep retreating with DCE but he manages to mill my switch, junkarm.. etc. i run out of ways to get eel out of active and he eats the rest of my deck.

Round 7: Zeel vs Durant.
opposite of last match i get off to great start. i go first with T1 charge while he can only devour 2 or 3 at a time. I kill of his durant and he whiff to supports and revives. he tries to use cobalion to stall for time but i get eels and zekrom set up to take care of his cobalions. i take 6 prizes with about 10 cards left in my deck.

Round 8: Zeek Vs Mew eels
knowing that both me and my opponent absolutely had to win to just have a shot at top cut made me nervous as i knew we were both gonna bring our best. unfortunately for him his deck craps out on him. tyrogue took 2 prizes off of tynamos while the next 3 turns i spent catcher and KO-ing mews with Thundurus. he scooped. it wasnt a great game and he wasn't very happy either. but thats just Pokemon sometimes.

Waiting for results was tough. and was relieved to have slid in at #11. fellow BC player Karl 8-0'd swiss as #1 seed and roommate Kevin also 6-2 and came in at 14th. while preparing for deck check Kevin and I joke that Ricky should sleep on the couch tonight since he whiff'd cut. good times. Camaraderie is a big reason I love Pokemon.
Top 16: Zeel vs Shawn Roest W/Reshiplosion
before the game our judge tells me I forget to specify which tynamo i would be playing in my deck. result is that I get a prize penalty round one. ouch. i guess it coulda been worse, at least they didn't make me replace my little tadpoles with energies. right???
Game 1:
he goes first and collectors ( i think) to get some basics. I get the T1 charge going and collectors as well. his 2nd turn he wasnt able to evolve and chooses to eek. I attach and catcher up cyndaquil for a KO. he gets quailava and not much else. I catcher, N, and kill that with Thundurus as well. the game for him goes downhill from there. he never gets more than one typlosion out at once so he can consistently blue flare. and when he did get a afterburner onto reshiram I had the bolt strike to one shot him. he couldn't recover to I win game 1.
Game 2:
he goes first reshiram to my lone tynamo. attaches DCE and plus power. as Kevin would say. "Ooops"
Game 3:
game 3 goes just about the same as game one. I started mewtwo and just went aggro with it. taking cyndaquil prizes. again he never got out 2 typlosions out at once until the very last moments when i had the game in hand. he Kills my mewtwo with his own but I had my next mewtwo in hand for the revenge KO. I think he only played one mewtwo which kinda hurt him. good games.
so Kevin wins his top 16 next to me and unfortunately we have to play each other in top 8
Top 8 Zeel Vs Kevin G. /Celebi Mewtwo Regigigas
Game 1:
we both start extremely poor. i get zekrom mewtwo while he gets double celebi and not much else. I Struggle to get any lightning energy into play and eventually he gets going with mewtwos and gigas. I realized two tynamos were prized which hurt. we traded mewtwos back and forth for a bit but he had 3 while i only had 2. i couldnt KO his gigas and it managed to catcher up my benched zekrom and kill it. the only attacker left with Mewtwo so I KO his gigas but he brings out his third mewtwo and KO's mine for the game
Game 2:
this game was complete opposite of game 1. we both get roaring starts and begins the mewtwo war almost from round 2. I KO 2 of his mewtwo but he is only able to KO one of mine. I set up eels and a zekrom on the bench, retreats my damaged mewtwo, and catcher KO his celebi to bring prizes to my favour 3-1. the only thing he can do is catcher KO my mewtwo with his. i bring up zekrom and shows catcher to bolt strike another celebi for the game
Game 3:
he gets a Virizon EP and celebi start, attachs energy and pass. while I charge and collector for tynamos and zekrom. next turn he gets the energies and plus power he needs to KO my thundrus. I attach to zekrom and junipers my hand away looking for two eels/level balls and a return KO. unfortuantly I whiff on everything, and idont even get the tyrogue to buy me some time. time gets called and he gets turn 0. he kills my tynamo go to up 2 prizes. I knew the only way to come back was to catcher ko his mewtwo on the bench. I top deck nothing and can only push forward zekrom looking to prevent anthoer KO. unfortunatly he has catcher in hand to KO another tynamo. with one turn to take 3 prizes my day was over.
Overall it was a great day and a lot of fun. Kevin ends up bowing out in top 4 while Karl got knocked out of top 8 as well. but at least BC took the junioir and senoir divisions, and overall had a great day.
