Takeshi Shudo, writer of a whole lot of the first seasons of the Pokemon Anime - passed away yesterday after her was rushed to the hospital after suffering a hemorrhage and collapsing at Nara Station. Shudo was 61 years-old.

Takeshi Shudo was not only known for Pokemon, but many other anime's. He worked for several famous companies like Studio Ghibli. He wrote there for several years until he accepted a job at The Pokémon Company. He was given chief writer position almost immediately.

His worked includes the Kanto, Orange island, and Johto seasons - as well as the first three Pokemon Movies.

You will be missed.

So he was the one that kept spamming bad Team Rocket jokes in every episode?

Other than that, sad to hear of his passing.

Remember that scene from the first Pokemon movie when Ash dies and all the Pokemon cry? That's what's I'm feeling right now.

English language =/= Japanese language. No offense to the English staff, but I always liked the writing of the Japanese anime better. (First couple of English seasons gave us some gems. *sound of boiling water* Prof. Oak: My pizza's done! XD 'Cuz everyone boils their pizza.)

R.I.P. Shudo. The first 3 movies were amazing, and my favorite is The Power of One (Lugia Movie). Also kudos to Mr. Shudo for creating Lugia as well. He has left us with amazing anime and Pokemon to remember him by.

You could say he left behind a legacy. How many people do you think have NOT watched a pokemon show? He started the anime, after all.

Thing is, those first 3 movies were the best out of all of 'em. Not to mnetion right now, the animé is nowhere near as awesome as it was back in the day.
R.I.P =(

That's really sad. Worked for Studio Ghibli too huh? Seems like an awesome career. Always had a soft spot for the anime, I still watch it!

When I was younger, the first thing I'd do when I got home from school was turn on the WB and catch my daily episode of Pokemon. The Kanto and Orange Island seasons were gateways to another world for me.

R.I.P. Shudo-san
