Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Team G.L.E.C

But the only problem is we each only get to make a single card, meaning each person couldn't actually have their own 'theme'.

I like my last idea, I think we should each make an SP super hero-ish Pokemon based on something like strength, health, ect. One person could technically have their own theme then, strength, health, ect...

That's about as close as I think we can get to variety when we can only make 1 card each.

Personally, my vote goes towards having each card emphasize something related to good health. we could have a fitness card, a healthy eating type card, an anti-drug card etc. It's far better to reinforce positive health than to scare children with the side effects of bad health. If we make a strong card based around negative things then it would fail to reinforce our message that healthy is good. If we made the bad health cards weaker, then there would be little point in obtaining them for reasons other than collection and although the message would be enforced, the effect would be minimal.

I agree with the super-SP Pokémon.

I'm going to sketch out a card real quick.

Alakazam SN LV.43 90HP [P]
BASIC

[Alakazam is bent over a book, scrutinizing every word, holding up a lantern to read in the dark,]
Super Nerd Pokémon

[Poké-POWER] Concentration
Once during your turn (before you attack), when you play Alakazam SN from your hand to your Bench, you may use this power. Your opponent selects 1 Pokémon that he or she has in play, then chooses either the Basic Pokémon card or one of the Evolution cards. Look over the selected card. Then, your opponent hides the card from you and asks for you to either state its name, level, type, HP, Stage, number, Height, Weight, Poké-Power name, Poké-Body name, attack name, attack damage, attack cost, Weakness, Resistance, or Retreat Cost. Look at the card. If you got the answer right, draw 5 cards. If you got the answer wrong, your turn ends now. (You don't get to attack.) Either way, return that card to its earlier position.

[P][P] Insightful Advice 30
Look at your opponent's hand.

Through healthy mind games, Alakazam has become the master of reading and observation.

W - [P]+20
R -
RC - [C][C]

Any comments? Mind health!

hmm.. well, if that's the theme...

Blissey H Lv.23 110HP [C]

Basic Pokémon
(Health Pokémon)

PokéBody: Strong Immunity.
If Chansey H is affected by a special condition you may flip a coin. If heads, remove that special condtition. You can only use this effect once per turn.

[C][C] Intensive Care
If Chansey H has more HP remaining than the Defending Pokémon and is affected by fewer special conditions, shuffle the Defending Pokémon into your opponent's deck.

I'd like to destroy the common misconception that an SP-Pokemon is not the concept of a Pokemon with an owner.

Because it is.

Ummm... err... that face stares into my soul... o_o

Ok, so SP Pokemon = trainer's Pokemon, but what trainers could we have for Pokemon like these? Maybe health can be their trainers...:nonono:

But as far as fixes go, Intensive care needs to be at least (C)(C). I love the idea but for only (C) it'd be broken; oh, and you should put a description of a picture and flavor text, just because. And finally, is should be Blissy not Chansey, and should have 10 more HP.

Concentration shouldn't be only when you play him, it should be once a turn but should only give you 3 cards instead of 5, that'd make it more usable.

So it looks like it's pretty agreed on to have superhero-like SP Pokemon, I guess I might as well put up a card for scrutiny.

Acranine H Lv.37 70HP (R)
[Arcanine is moving forward so fast that the area around him is simply a blur of trees.]
Basic Pokémon (Health Pokémon)
(Triathlete's Arcanine)
Poké-Power: Extreme Speed
Once during your turn (before you attack), when Arcanine H becomes your Active Pokémon from being Benched, you may put 3 damage counters on the Defending Pokémon.
(F)(F)(C) Flash Fire 40
After doing damage, switch Arcanine H with 1 of your benched pokémon
(Lot's of running has turned Arcanine into one of the fastest Pokémon.)
Weakness: (W) +30
Resistance: None
Retreat Cost: (C)(C)

Ensign...
1. Picture
2. PokéPower: Strong Immunity
Once during your turn (before you attack), you may flip a coin. If ehads, remove all Special Conditions from Chansey H.
3. Fewer Special Conditions, not less special conditions
4. Shuffle the Defending Pokémon and all cards attached to it into your opponent's deck. This attack cannot be used if your opponent doesn't have any Benched Pokémon or another Active Pokémon.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

GZ...
1. é
2. 100HP is too much
3. Poké-Power: Extreme Speed
Once during your turn (before you attack), when Arcanine becomes your Active Pokémon from being Benched, you may put [2] damage counters on the Defending Pokémon.
4. After doing damage, switch Arcanine with 1 of your Benched Pokémon.

Heh, totally forgot about that stupid little é thing... :nonono:

How about 3 damage for his poke-power? Two is not enough in my opinion.

hmm... The intent of intensive care is to allow you to win by the old Pidgeot way. It rewards you for running a healthier deck than your opponent ^_^.

Also, Strong immunity is supposed to only work against 1 effect at a time. So if it's confused and poisoned, you can only remove the confusion or the poison.

And most of all ensignmerlin, it should be a power not a body since it has to be activated by the player and isn't automatic.

Ok, so SP Pokemon = trainer's Pokemon, but what trainers could we have for Pokemon like these? Maybe health can be their trainers...:nonono:

Okay, since The Supes specifically disagrees with H Pokemon, how about we not use that idea? Maybe Nurse Joy's Pokemon instead, for example?

Alright, I have spent a bit of time thinking and have came up with a conclusion that will not only give our Pokemon trainers but will also keep them as 'Team Health' Pokemon.

I would like each of you to edit your post and to put, underneath where it says 'Health Pokemon' who that Pokemon's trainer is. Now here's the tough part, the characters must be known for that type of Pokemon and fit the ideology behind the card (Meaning even though Blane has fire type Pokemon it wouldn't work for Arcanine because he's all about power. -_-)

I would also PLEASE like you to avoid using Gym leaders, though I'm not going to outright say that you can't but... try to think outside the box. :thumb:

And last, Lucario EX, we need a card from you, please post it soon so I won't have to use our extension.

Edit: Even better idea! I think we could have their trainers be different normal trainer types, such as bug catcher, Pokefan, pokemon breeder, ect.

Just look at these!

And these!

These too!

And... the last one!

This way it might make it look a bit more like normal trainer's Pokemon rather than some uber-epic character's Pokemon. :thumb:

Alright, I've looked over it and it all looks good except... weren't we going to keep them as H (health) Pokemon? Just because they have trainers doesn't mean they can't be H Pokemon right?

Reminder PM sent to everyone, let's keep up the good work! :thumb:

Medicham NJ Lv. 31 100 HP
(F) Basic
SP: Nurse Joy's Pokémon.

Picture: Shows a Medicham doing pushups. The core of an apple is on the ground. The background is a forest, with a few rays of sunlight shining through the trees. The picture is in a simple, cartoon-like style.

PokéPower Exercise
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may use this power. Until the end of your turn, your Active Pokémon's attacks do 20 more damage. This power can't be used if Medicham NJ is affected by a Special Condition. You can't use more than 1 Exercise PokéPower per turn.

(F)(C) Rapid Punch 30

By maintaining a healthy lifestyle, Medicham gained amazing power.

Weakness (P)x2 Resistance 0 Retreat Cost (C)

Lucario EX you're leader this round.

NOW. To business.

Round 2

Recent complaints about unfair 'doinking' and losing games by the first turn have risen dramtically. You have been told to make cards fir the latest set that will help counter this, and that you should make new rule changes to reflect this as well. Your team may make up to 8 cards(evolution lines included) Pokemon Trainer or otherwise to fix this. You may either change 2 rules or make 2 NEW rules. Good luck. Deadline is May 31st.

I was thinking something along the lines of allowing people to choose their starting Pokemon, it follows the game well (since the rest of your Pokemon would still have to be captured from the wild.) and would eliminate 1st turn wins. The rest would stay the same, use any other Pokemon in your hand for the bench and start from there.

It's not that I don't like the idea of the 'allow trainers until the end of their turn to loose due to loss of Pokemon', it's just that the whole idea doesn't fit with Pokemon at all. When you lost your last Pokemon in battle it didn't say 'hurry and look for another Pokemon to use!' it says 'Trainer whited out.' (Equivalent to having lost.)

An idea for Pokemon (Especially if we use my idea) would be someone who is unaffected by all effects of attacks (Including damage) during the first turn it's put into play. (And then put something in parenthesis stating it works at the beginning of the game too.) This would allow the player at least one turn of invulnerability before they get pummeled. =P

So, seven days, we need to get to it.

That would give people the ability to play lots of terrible starters with no risk, though. Cards like Claydol and Rayquaza LA would benefit hugely.

My suggestion is;

'If either player wins in 2 turns or less, the losing player may choose to play a second, separate, game. In this game, the loser of the previous game would play with 3 Prize cards, while the previous winner would play with 1. This game would then decide the overall winner.'
