Pokémon TCG: Sword and Shield—Brilliant Stars

Team G.L.E.C

Where's Char Rox?

Anyways, I'd really don't like that rule... really... it seems way too 'MtG' for me. The new or changes rules need to remain simple, easy to understand, and not stray too far away from the original basis of the game. I don't want a rule that changes Pokemon into anything it isn't.

Plus, what difference does 'not having to suffer from poor start choices' make anyways when we are trying to keep the game from ending short? As I see there are enough trainers (Warp point, ect.) and Pokemon finders out that bad starts really don't matter except versus 1st turn KO's.

Yours is a much more drastic change. Mine would come into effect every once in a while, and only when it was needed. Yours would affect every single game, and would change some major elements of the game that have always been there. It would totally eliminate mulligans, and starting Pokemon have always been random in the TCG. It would eliminate a need for consistency in starters. In addition, most evolving basics have low HP anyway, so it would make certain cards staples, making it even harder for new players to get into the game.

Think about it. Your rule allows players to play something like 4 Uxie, 4 Crobat G, 4 Spiritomb, 4-4 Claydol, 4-4-4 Kingdra/Machamp, 4 BTS, etc, and in a lot of ways might increase donks.

Mine would only take effect when a player was donked, and wouldn't ruin speedy decks, either, because a fast, consistent deck would have a good chance of winning the second game. It wouldn't change deck construction vastly, and could therefore be implemented anytime.

I see your point...

I know! How about neither player can attack during their first turn? It'd give people a whole turn to set up against a OHKO or whatever and would still keep the starter randomness and unpredictability in while making sure that people aren't killed on the first turn.

Mawile Lv. 21 80 HP
(M) Basic

Picture: Shows a Mawile skulking around a corner, in a shadowy cave. Water is dripping onto the ground from a long stalactite, and forming a small puddle. Light is reflecting off the water and several shiny rocks lying on the ground.

Poké-Body Loner
Whenever Mawile is attacked, flip a coin. If heads, prevent all effects of that attack done to Mawile. This Poké-Body stops working if you have any other Pokémon in play.

(.) Find A Friend
Flip a coin. If heads, search your deck for a Pokémon, show it to your opponent, and put it into your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.

(C) Big Bite 20

Mawile are never found in groups of more than 1 or 2. It appears that Mawile are only slowed down by working with others.

Weakness (R)+20 Resistance (P)-20 Retreat Cost (C)

Good job on the late pass Lucario EX. :thumb:

I guess I'll make a card too, though we still need to come to an agreement about which rules we want to use. (Or not I guess, you are the team leader so I guess we don't have to come to an agreement. =P)

Mom's Support
(Supporter)
You may only play one supporter card each turn. When you play this card, put it next to your active Pokémon. When your turn ends, discard this card.

You may play this card during your opponent's turn when your opponent declares an attack and has two or less energy cards attached to their active Pokémon (Even on the first turn.) While this card is in play, prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to either player's active Pokémon.

Finally Mom can do something useful. XD

I have a suggestion for a rule.

Whenever a Pokémon would be Knocked Out in either player's very first turn of play, that Pokémon is not Knocked Out and its remaining HP becomes 10 instead.

And a card:

Abra LV.6 30HP [P]
BASIC

Pic: A Machop is just about to punch Abra. Abra is facing Machop. Abra has its back to you. Abra is glowing with a psychic outline, prepared to teleport.

Poké-POWER: Teleportation
At the beginning of the game, if Abra is your Active Pokémon, you may shuffle it into your deck. If you do, choose 3 Basic Pokémon in your deck, show them to your opponent, and put them in play. Shuffle your deck afterwards. You may not attack on your first turn if you use this power.

ABRA are known to teleport randomly. They will occasionally teleport people and other POKéMON with them.

Sorry about being so late, I just remembered this contest.

Back to back posts merged. The following information has been added:

Another card:

Safe Stadium
STADIUM

-Stadium Text-
This card may be played on a player's first turn.

Pic: A Pikachu and a Meowth are staring each other down. They are both protected by a semi-barrier in front of them. Neither of them are able to KO the other.

As long as Safe Stadium is in play, whenever a Pokémon would be Knocked Out, that Pokémon is not Knocked Out and its remaining HP becomes 10 instead. This card is automatically discarded when both players have a total of at least seven Pokémon in play.

<_< >_> *Looks at stopwatch counting down to the end of the round.*

Looks like I'll jimmy-rig a final post-thing... Lucario EX, make a new one if you want but I just don't want to have nothing. -_-

Rules changed/made = Um...

1. Both players may not attack during their first turn.

2. Players may play any card during their first turn (No restrictions on Supporters, Trainers, or anything else.)

So yeah, stating it again, I'm NOT stealing the leadership spot, I just don't want to be stuck with nothing when this round ends. :frown:

Cards:

Magby Lv. 8 40 HP
(R) Basic

Picture: Shows a group of Magby huddling in a cave. Several Zubat are flying past in the background. All the Magby have their eyes scrunched closed.

(. ) Endure
If Magby would be Knocked Out during your opponents next turn, Magby is not discarded, and it's remaining HP becomes 10 instead. This counts as Magby being Knocked Out and your opponent takes a Prize card.

Magby often venture briefly into colder places, to build up their strength.

Weakness: (W)+10 Resistance 0 Retreat Cost (C)

Rule changes/additions:

If either player wins in 2 turns or less, the losing player may choose to play a second, separate, game. In this game, the loser of the previous game would play with 3 Prize cards, while the previous winner would play with 1. This game would then decide the overall winner.

Supporters, Trainers, and Stadiums can all be played on the first turn of the game.
