I just wanted to post a congratulations to the members of the unofficial team of Memphis Tn...Team Slugma (of which they have awarded title of Magcargo)
These guys/ girl have been playing together since the old days here in Memphis, 4 or 5 years, keeping the game going here even in the "dead days" and most are still in in the ranks of the 11-14 group. I do not think any of them ever really dreamed that one day they would be playing at the 2005 Pokemon World Championships...
Demarion Turner 11-14
Nick Marsden 11-14
Adam Maldonado (affectionately known as Carlos' brother) 15+
Taylor Mitchell 11-14
I am grandfathering in a few folks into Slugma..
Josh Seeto---10- (youngest but playing as long as the rest)
Kevin White--- His record speaks for itself
Also... a healthy load of respect from me to David Coates, who helped Taylor get ready for World's last year and all the team members this year, who fell just short of a second return trip this year...He is a deserving winner of the sportsmanship award at last years Championship. You make the whole team better. :thumb:
You guys are great players and more important in my eyes, great sports and great teachers for our up and coming kids. You make me proud...See you on the plane to SAN DIEGO!!!
Clay Mitchell--Magcargo of Team Slugma
Soon to be PTO for the Memphis area
