what if the mag player just builds up 1 mag for the whole game, with like 7 energy before it attacks, snipes pidgeot d, then ohkos everything else in the deck, theres not much you can do to stop them from doing so, most of the decks damage depends on the attacks your opponent uses,

what stops them from doing this other than the opportunity it gives you to setup? i know that against gg they sack a couple pokemon to accomplish pretty much this same effect but they don't even need to sack anything against this deck unless i'm missing a key attack that doesn't depend on damage done to you, that's why i'm asking

edit: i figured it out! it's octillery

wait flame body!

i'm so confused

If they give you 7 turns, you can easily jack up 2 dos before they even start firing. You can't give dos that much time or else you can't beat it.

good point brian, i guess i just wasn't thinking about enrage, but i know what you mean,

adam beat me with my gyrados deck a while back that way, we both had HORRIBLE starts, and since i was playing GG his bad start hurt me just as hard, his advantage was the time he had to power up gyrados and after the game actually started rolling he pulled out of the dead start and won by a small yet decisive margin

i love this deck, i jus wish i woulda got it to jimmy sooner, maybe we woulda had better turnouts...but wait til regionals, im pretty sure it will do better in a area where the deck is actually built for. it aint built for bedrill and darkrai etc...lol i think i did good at iowa states even thou there was a lot of rogue over there and i had no clue what to do against them.(should have went to missouri or minnesota or michigan)
the 2 games i did lose was because of time/slow play:redface::frown::nonono: i hated those loses becase one more turn and i would have won them both. its so hard because with this deck if you try and play fast to avoid losing to time then you will lose because of the mistakes you made. like jimmy said, bad energy placements can lose you the game. i think it will b easier to save some time by thinking of where your energy will go on THERE TURN, instead of waisting time on your turn. the thing that made me think the most was the energy placements. if you make it to the top cut with this deck you can take your time and make the right plays. that was my main goal. it didnt turn out that way because of how long it took ME to make a plan. it wont always b your opponents fault that you lose because of time. i have no doubts that this deck is good and will make a good showing at regionals. i love this deck, for 2 reasons. its creative AND can challenge the metagame! im thinking about trying it with a new engine that ive been thinking about. ill post it after i try it out a few times to c if its viable in this type of deck.

James Flint....

James, Iowa States was hard because there was such little turn out. We were kind of hoping for that but unfortunately my kids, their only loss was to gardevoir/gallade. Which is so incredibly ridiculous.

This is a great deck, but no one thinks that ampharos d could be worked in, I know its a stage 2 but it makes all of your pokes deck, discard, active delta. Then the worse part is the attack only allows for extra 10 per delta species and its stage 2.

I am so sick of gardevoir/gallade that we are actually thinking of playing it for regionals, just so we can get to nationals. How pathetic is that?

Good job in Iowa though James, atleast Christopher came in 2nd someone that was with you guys.

My kids have been working all week (easter vacation) on decks, but with no adult or mentor type person that is older .... it just gets diffucult for them to understand strategy and be more creative....

Sorry, I don't really know how to do a quote

I think it is hard to be creative at this point. I have created a couple deck that destroy mag and fold to mortar and vice versa, theres not much out there that can beat both decks but, I have ran across something that can but it will fold to anythng other than those decks basically. :(

Besides coming up with an alternative tech for G/G or Magmortar like you said at this point and this late in the game getting so close to regionals who is actually willing to take that chance?

i saw this deck is running psychic energy, i suggest jirachi ex!!!
it has no weakness and it is G&G's weakness and it can still lock the gardy-lade even though
they play lati's!!

[del]And it only gives them ONE prize when defeated by Flame Buster or Psychich Blade!!1![/del]
Sorry, that was sort of harsh. I use low HP exs like Absol ex but active is a little risky.

As for 4 corners, hmmm....

Perhaps this is intended to use MD cards as Phione would rock in something like that.

I'd guess something like Octillery, Electrode, Slowking.

yeah i was trying to figure it out too, your guess is ok i came up with a similar attempt but very different

but maybe if you want someone to confirm the contents of a deck they want kept private you should do so over pm, that's just me though,

There is a really good thing about this deck that i like, if you win the first two rounds you SHOULD get into top cutt because the next rounds you should be going against are GG or Mag and maybe a Gatr if there lucky.

Whats the point of GUESSING whats in the 4corners???
Why dont you guys just ask...lol

I think ive figured out what "the answer" is missing.
Not a G&G counter or a Magmortar counter.

By talking to people all over the *WORLD* ive figured out
one obvious thing about peoples counters and deck ideas.
People are thinking wayyyy too hard!!

There are more cards than just the latest sets that you can choose from.
We STILL have dragon frontiers in this format!:thumb:

When people are trying to be creative with the decks the first thing you guys do is try and beat GG and Mag correct? We also try to make them be able to beat them BOTH consistenly correct again? Well why dont you guys try beating one, then throw in little techs for the other one that dont just help against that deck but OTHER decks also. No matter if they are the most played decks or not, there WILL be other decks at regionals that people will play.(surprisingly:lol:)

P.S: If you are trying to build a deck, keep this in mind...Format:
1. Gardy/Gallade
2. Magmortar
3. Gatr Varients
4-10 Random/Rogue

If you mean use flygon ex d to beat GG and mew* for mag, that will fail horribly.

And props to jimmy for an original deck, I just hope he doesn't come to MY regionals with 4 corners :p

For the hundreth time Jimmy isnt going to ANY regionals this year.....:frown:

ok i DID say people was thinking too hard, but it aint exactly OBVIOUS either...lol
com on moza, YOU of all people? Not saying Flygon ex d/mew* is what i was thinking but with a nice list,
that could actually compete with the tops in my opinion, and im sure that arguement
can go either way!
