Ya but at least hes not fake about it. So give em his props on being honest. I would encourage ppl to admit their stalling. That way we can make a dictionary size base of stallers from pikachu.

I know someone posted earlier that durso was judging. He wasnt judging Brians division, Ellen Glassett was.

Give him props for being honest?

How about slops for being stupid enough to post it on a public forum?

Or slops for being the kind of person who would stall someone out?

I would think a protege of Gino's would know better than to stall after Gino picked up a GL for slow play at Nats.

grrrrrr.

Keith

Obviously a protege of Gino's would be an expert in stalling. His master does it.

"If ur gunna stall at tourneys dont post that on the boards keep it on the DL like alot of other players do. "

Good job, conover.. You just admitted to all the judges in the game that you stall. Good luck at any future, major tournament! You deserve to be banned. Judges already know to watch Gino for stalling, as he got a game loss for it. Now you're on the list =D

---

EVERYONE SHOULD BE POSTING IN ENGLISH. I've gone through and deleted some unintelligible posts. More posts that ignore any kind of punctuation key or use a stupid amount of slang and become impossible to understand will be treated as what they are- SPAM. And infractions will, and have already, been given.

I thought this report was about the events that happend in nanuet but yet it turned into "Gino Stalls?" I dont stall and the only reason people say I do is cuz most of Pokemons judges play favorites and are just dumb. Not to mention they dont wanna see me win nor know what stalling is. As for the comment of Conover being a protege of myself, thats completely false. I met him once and we've never played against each other.

Vergel if ur gonna talk about conover and say hes scum for admitting to stalling. Then throw ur whole team 'Lafonte' on that list cuz all that is isa bunch of players who use stalling and penalties to their advantages.

How about just playing at a brisk pace (as the rules call for) ...

Sorry to pick a nit on this, bro, the rest of your comments are right on.

The rules call for a
moderate and lively pace
I think its probably that way so our juniors know not to play themselves into a gamebreaking misplay by playing too fast, thinking that brisk means 'superfast'. You've know what I mean with those little dynamos, esp. at worlds.

for all:
Moderate - neither too fast nor too slow.
Lively - looking alive, not sitting still thinking so long you look dead, or repeating the same action like some bad breeze is blowing a dead mans arm back and forth between two discard piles.

From now on, to avoid this type of situation you should type out the whole story, and not just half of a thought. It'll help you avoid situations like this.

Good advice.

Posting something the equivalent of 'and I ran out the clock on her' in a tournament report in front of a bunch of judges and players who have been stalled out at one time or another is kind of like walking into an airport and joking about the bomb in your luggage... just plain dumb... unless you like interrogations.

This needs to be locked.

Yah, YC has been asking us for a lock, too. But while we're not going to allow piling on, we're not going to shut off reaction to the topic post either. THE ONLY PLACE ON THIS BOARD WHERE THE TOPIC STARTER CAN ASK FOR A LOCK IS IN TRADE FORUMS where there is some functional reason.

OK, I've said three things:
1. Try to give the impression you're alive, not merely undead, when you're playing.
2. Think about reactions before you post (bonus advice: don't joke about bombs in airports).
3. Don't ask people to lock your topic when it leaves your favor... the answer is no.

I don't know of many lafonte players who got a game loss for stalling.

It's a pretty rare thing

You're just insulting the judges now. Smart move, Gino! Our national champ, ladies and gentlemen. A true representative of the game!

The judges are just dumb and don't know what stalling is.

I wonder why? Judges dont play favorites?*sarcasm* Garcia vs. Ennocenti @ Nationals 2008? Your telling me that wasnt a judge hooking up a player? How is asking a judge "what time is it" considered rushing? The same exact thing I did in top 8 @ nationals know as "slow play" by the rulebook what I got a prize penalty/game loss for Jason K. does to me in top 4 @ worlds and gets called on it 3/4 times and gets a verbel warning BY THE SAME JUDGE who gave me my penalties at nationals. Different rules change for different players. Thats y ur boys dont got no game losses for stalling.

Im glad im not a judge nor will I ever sign up to be one nor a professor. If judges made the right calls we as players wouldnt have this problem. Just as in sports it is in pokemon, you know certain Referees and Judges and they"ll stretch the rules out a bit for that certain friend or family member. In pokemon judges have too much power, espescially from things I've seen or have gotten done to me. On conovers behalf he admitted to stalling. Leave em alone, and let the judges handle it.

Maybe you didn't see the professor logo next to my name, or know that I've judged events before?
Or that I'm a tournament organizer?

Oh, because I haven't judged nationals I can't criticize you for slowplaying your way to get multiple, escalating penalties which eventually led to a GAME LOSS? Or that your friend admitted to stalling on a public forum?

More ignorance from "da champ".

I noticed the logo. I could care less. Ignorance? You called a player scum. Yet your a judge and act like this. You got a logo near your name. What does that have to do with anything? Theres hundreds of other judges like you. You aint doing anything special. Your just an example of a person who gives judges a bad name. Maybe u should put that near ur logo too and also lock this thread because u brung it into a gino defending conover warzone.

Just another case of the man holding you down dawg. What can you do??

Keith Haas, Blizz, Vince, Richard, Pop,Fish, Spurlock,rocketman, Kim,The Mattingly's, Chrisbo,Troy
Lesky,Wayne Cunningham,Jeff Reynolds, Clay Mitchell, quite a list of quality Pokemon judges who
are- as you call them- dumb . What an ******* thing to say( I'll take my points for that one- they
are worth it).

Actually, it is a rude insulting thing to say to some of the best judges I know- but not a surprise
at all coming from you.Besides, w/out judges, players don't have events. Maybe you should
think of this before you call them all dumb.

As for the 2nd sentence in your quote above,( Not to mention they dont wanna see me win nor know what stalling is), see the 1st sentence I typed.

The game is the 1st 1 to 6 prizes, not abuse the time to win by it. Ever think more and more players
and judges are sick and tired of games being decided by players attempts to control the clock.

And for the record, I'm quite sure the judges I mentioned KNOW what stalling is . I know them ALL
to be impartial and do not put up with players being " slow rolled". Try your shenanigans w/ these
judges again ( any of your dawgs) and let me know how it works out for you.

And as for "our boys" not getting game losses for stalling, ever thing it's because we play clean.
Not every Lafonte player plays fast, but we all know how to play- and play clean. Love
us, hate us, we don't cheat.

We used to have a forum for posts like yours.

What a misqoute. The only judges I think are dumb are the ones who play favorites and stretch out the rules. As a judge do your job and enforce the rules. Every game enforce the same rules for each player. No ones keeping me down. I got all these "slow play" penalties at nationals and STILL WON. I dont got no sour grapes. The only problem I have is judges not doing their jobs. You shouldnt talk about great judges. Playing game three at nationals in 2007, top 32 you played with half ur discard pile from the previous game 2 while beggining game 3. Even though thats by RULEBOOK a gameloss. Then again u know so many judges as friends or have connects through lafonte. No wonder you werent given a game loss. I recall you even laughing after you got away with it. Saying "what stupid judges." Dont pull the rulebook out on me sniper, cuz its time ta pay tha piper! Take ur sour grapes somewhere else.

1st of all, it was t-8 vs. Chuck. 2nd of all 2 ( not half my deck you idiot)
cards were under the infractions sheet of the judge
watching the game. A fluke thing. Had I gotten a game loss i would have picked up my cards, shaken
my opponents hand and that would have been that. I was told to shuffle the 2 cards in and procede
to play.

I NEVER laughed at or about any judges or called them what you just accused me of. That
is a crock of **** Gino and you know it. Don't turn this around on me you slow rolling p.o.s.
I play as clean as anyone and NO Silvestro would slow-roll his way to a win( unlike
you bunch of wanna be bad *** gangstahs! from vanilla , r.i).

If your going to call me out chump at least get your facts right.

Gramps ur like 58 years old. Get a life. Still playing pikachu...... Pickin fights with teens, talkin smack. As for u saying you would of shooken ur opponents hand. After seeing u bug out vs. my boy A-rod at nationals because u were dead drawing.....Nahhhhh. Quit starting shizz with the young guns.

1. Conover is scum, and was rightfully called so.
2. What does the logo near my name have to do with anything? You said leave this matter "to the judges". I am a judge. So that's why it matters.
3. How am I an example of someone who gives judges a bad name? Because I called you and your friend out for being scummy guys who stall and cheat to win?
4. Maybe you should try posting in english before I need to delete your posts and give you points. That last sentence literally doesn't make sense.
5. Do you type and talk like an idiot to make yourself look cooler? You're from RHODE ISLAND. You're not a thug, not a gangster, you're just a little kid who plays POKEMON. You're not hood, you're not cool, and you're a shame to the game.

Take that bandana off your face and you'll see how stupid you're making yourself look.

WOW my ears were burning seems Mr. Gino was typing about me and my staff again. I stand by every ruling that was made at 08 Nats if you have a problem come to me as for favorites Mr Silvestro received a round 5 loss at the 08 Nats but I play favorites. Gino Yes I dislike you, but that has nothing to do with the penalties you received all your penalties were earned by you. You admittedly stall way to go way to draw the attention of every Judge of merit. Calling out BDS and Fish about Worlds takes alot of class too you can dish it but you have a real problem taking it. You reap what you sew dawg.

BLiZz

John: Let it go, it isnt worth the infraction points.

Judges remember slow rollers. We arent "dumb". Guess what, at Nats and Worlds, we get together and get to compare notes! The lists get longer.

Since it is nearly Santa time.....it is time to go checking my list and checking it twice, gonna see who's naughty and who's nice!

Q-F-T. Ryan wins the thread.

Can someone close this thread as i heard it going to be in a flame war between several others?

BTW Brian, GJ on what you have done so far for this tournament. :)

ROFL I have a life. I make a hundred grand a year and get my winters off. I enjoy playing
this card game and the people I've met ( not that I owe a punk like you an explanation for
anything about me). Young guns LOLOL Cheaters , punks and wanna be gangstahs maybe.

One day when you have kids of your own I hope someone shows your teenage kids the tribute video
you made of yourself.

I wonder if they will ever talk to you again after they see it?????

Wow those are some of the most disgusting accusations I have ever seen.

The Silvestros are some of the most stand-up people in Pokemon. Heck, in 2005 Steve cost himself a chance to be NATIONAL CHAMPION because he didn't want to win on a technicality. Steve and John are perfect examples of what SotG stands for.

As for the judging staff, they've gotten to where they are for a reason. They wouldn't be there if they didn't have the utmost integrity and knowledge of the game. We wouldn't even have the game the way it is if they didn't volunteer their time and work almost non-stop for 3-4 days to put on Nationals/Worlds, in addition to all the things they do back home.
